If asked to evaluate her recent life, Kiana would describe it as utterly dreadful.
Apart from Aunt Himeko's inconsistent cooking - sometimes too bland, other times overly salty - the biggest issue was Raiden Mei's daily early departures and late returns.
Kiana felt an immense weight pressing down on her shoulders.
Of course, she wasn't one to throw unreasonable tantrums, and she understood that Raiden Mei had no ulterior motives. However, with Mei fully absorbed in training, Bronya also joined her sessions, leaving Kiana alone for classes...
It was truly overwhelming for Kiana.
Knowing well that her academic performance was lacking, why force herself to continue attending lectures?
The girl cleared her throat and declared, "I need to prove to you that I'm more suitable than you to guide Mei."
Xia Chen let out a sigh of relief.
So that's all it was? He initially thought their relationship might have been misunderstood by others.
Pausing briefly, he responded, "Kiana, challenging me is not something I oppose. However, being strong physically does not equate to strength in knowledge."
"If you truly wish to prove yourself before Raiden Mei, what you should focus on is expanding your knowledge." Xia Chen paused, unwilling for Kiana to endure the tragedy she faced in the original storyline again.
"Love might be powerful, but ultimately, this world revolves around thought. First, consider what strength brings you and how to maximize its use."
"And after bearing unbearable burdens of life, can you still persevere?"
Xia Chen's words caught Kiana off guard.
Her decision today was impulsive; she didn't genuinely believe she could teach Mei. Instead, she found the theoretical classes too challenging and simply wanted to skip them. Kiana had planned to make up some excuse while venting her frustrations.
However...
"I got it, I got it. Enough with the lecture already," Kiana responded dismissively, not taking his advice seriously. After a moment, she asked, "So, shall we begin?"
Xia Chen sighed at her reaction.
"Yes."
Currently, with the combination of his Authority and Valkyrie Armor, Xia Chen believed he could defeat anyone below Herrscher level. Even ordinary S-rank Valkyries were no match for him.
Naturally, when facing Kiana, he wouldn't utilize his Authority or Stigmata powers and switched back to the Mark-III Valkyrie Armor instead of the Fourth Gen.
Despite this change, Xia Chen still believed himself to be on par with Rita wearing Artemis. His physical strength alone had effectively bridged the gap between the third and fourth-generation Valkyrie Armors.
Although not yet at the level of an Imperial Honkai Beast, his body's prowess surpassed that of the Emperor of Honkai.
Of course, purely in terms of power, Kiana was no slouch either. In fact, any perceived difference wasn't as significant as one might expect.
Kiana, despite being a B-rank Valkyrie, already exhibited A-rank capabilities, rivaling even Ana's strength, if not surpassing her.
In a direct confrontation, she likely wouldn't fall short against Rita either.
The Kaslana genes truly were remarkably potent.
During this period, Kiana has also been diligently training, mastering both marksmanship and combat techniques. Although criticized by Himeko for having "a brawler's style, lacking discipline," it is precisely this unorthodox approach, combined with her immense power, that makes her unpredictable and formidable.
However, both in terms of combat experience and strength, she still fell short compared to Xia Chen.
"I lost."
Kiana looked dejectedly at Xia Chen, who had also employed Marksmanship Arts, now pointing his gun directly at her head.
Despite her diligent training, the gap between herself and Xia Chen seemed to widen further. A sense of urgency began to creep over her.
For Kiana, becoming Schicksal's strongest Valkyrie wasn't just an empty slogan; it was a genuine goal she strived towards relentlessly.
It was November 2015, and Kiana's objectives were clear and straightforward:
Become Schicksal's most powerful Valkyrie. Find that darn old man (Otto).
Once these goals were achieved, nothing else would matter.
Xia Chen holstered his gun without saying much. At this point, Kiana no longer needed any additional guidance; all she lacked is time.
"Thanks," Kiana acknowledged briefly, not even seeking comfort from Mei as usual. Instead, she swiftly left the training room and hurried straight to the Principal's office.
And thus...
Another Homu comic met its demise.
"Auntie, you gotta help me quickly!"
Kiana's sudden arrival startled Theresa.
Seeing it was Kiana, she sighed in relief but then scolded her angrily, "Silly niece, I've told you to call me Principal."
"Go ahead, what brings you here this time?"
"Well..." Kiana paused before asking, "Do you have any methods for quickly becoming stronger?"
Feeling slightly embarrassed, she continued, "I lost again to Xia Chen Teacher, even though he's just one year older than me."
"At this rate, I feel like my goal of becoming Schicksal's strongest Valkyrie is drifting further away."
Theresa looked at Kiana, feeling somewhat helpless.
"Kiana, you've already made significant progress."
"Auntie, please help me somehow." Kiana clung to Theresa's arm, acting cute and pleading, "I want to use the Memory Battlefield and face Durandal."
Theresa did not permit Kiana to use the Memory Battlefield.
The reason stemmed from several months ago when Theresa took Kiana to a special instance of the Memory Battlefield, resulting in unforeseen complications within the virtual space.
Otto had tampered with it, causing Siegfried to appear as Kiana's opponent. Of course, the Principal remained unaware that someone else was behind this mischief.
Following that incident, Otto even provided the Fourth-Gen Valkyrie Armor, White Knight Moonlight, for Kiana to counter Anti-Entropy's invasion.
Unsure of Otto's intentions, Theresa consistently prohibited Kiana from using the Memory Battlefield and discouraged her from employing White Knight Moonlight.
However, due to Xia Chen's influence, it became evident that Kiana no longer found satisfaction in these restrictions.
Theresa hesitated to reveal the complex entanglements involving the Kaslana family within Schicksal, yet she wanted to protect Kiana.
It posed quite a difficult dilemma.
Theresa sighed and replied, "Alright, but don't come crying to me if you get beaten badly. I won't intervene then."
"We'll enter the Memory Battlefield together, just not using the original equipment," Theresa suggested.
Her office contained a special version of the Memory Battlefield, intended for her exclusive use with confidential data. Moreover, there was evidence that Otto had tampered with it previously.
She couldn't risk using it again.
"Auntie, you're my absolute favorite!" Kiana exclaimed happily without hesitation.
As Theresa led Kiana back to the training room, Xia Chen was already engaged in solo practice. Upon noticing Theresa, he greeted her, "Principal."
"Carry on with your training, no need to stop," Theresa waved dismissively, indicating it wasn't important.
Kiana, however, spoke confidently, "After I defeat Durandal, I'll challenge you next."
Unconsciously, in Kiana's mind, Xia Chen had become even more formidable than Durandal herself.
Xia Chen smiled warmly, "I look forward to it."
While Theresa assisted Kiana in accessing the Memory Battlefield, someone at the Immortal Blades' base took notice.
"Someone from the Far East Branch is challenging Lady Durandal again. It's not Xia Chen this time; it's Kiana Kaslana. Does anyone know her?"
The unfamiliar name quickly captured everyone's attention, including Durandal's.
