Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 318: First Partnered Transaction

"I didn't expect you to come looking for me this early."

"Well, I unexpectedly got my hands on a few good crafting materials.

"Oh? What material?"

"This."

Pretending to grab something out of his sack bag, Shye retrieved the prime flood dragon scale from the system's inventory, proudly showing it to Meido soon after.

"OHHHHH!!! IS THIS?! A PRIME DRAGON SCALE?!"

Witnessing the prime flood dragon scale in its full glory, Meido stood up from her seat in utter shock and repeatedly jumped in small motions like an excited child.

She hadn't anticipated getting another opportunity to work with an (S) tier crafting material so quickly.

Meido had quite a few experiences dealing with (S) tier crafting materials in the past and each one had truly been a blast for her, allowing her to learn and improve far more quickly than crafting lower-tiered weapons.

Still, she understood that it was hard for adventurers to harvest such peak-tier materials.

Even Doran, the most seasoned blacksmith in the Valenzia Region, likely gained his expertise primarily from working with adamantite ore, the lowest-ranked among all (S) tier materials.

The scarcity didn't stem from the difficulty of hunting high-level creatures, as Valenzia boasted more than hundreds of adamantite-ranked adventurers capable of such feats.

Heck, even a few of the highest-ranked ones could defeat a flood dragon alone.

However, the reason was primarily because for example, for each flood dragon, there is only one prime dragon scale—its size and quality varying depending on the size and age of the flood dragon.

Only, it was almost impossible to harvest such scales without damaging them as it could cause the downfall of an entire party should they hold back against such a dangerous (S) ranked creature.

Hence, although flood dragons were quite numerous and weren't that hard to slay for high-ranked adamantite adventurers, the challenge lay in killing the creature without harming the (S) tier crafting material.

The better the material's condition was, the higher its price would be.

As for Shye's prime flood dragon scale, it was somewhat below average in terms of quality but its size was enormous, probably enough for two or even three pieces of equipment depending on the blacksmith's skill.

The likelihood of the crafted equipment reaching the adamantite tier was slim though, given that the material was somewhat damaged for such a purpose.

Well, Shye didn't expect the scales to provide him with adamantite-tier equipment in the first place so all was good.

As long as Meido could at least craft him high-quality diamond-ranked greatswords, then he would be satisfied.

Waiting for the young blacksmith to calm down, Shye stared, trying his best to stifle his laughter upon remembering that Meido didn't like being laughed at.

Finally, after around half a minute, the young blacksmith took a deep breath, forcefully calming her raging emotions, before clearing her throat upon realizing that she probably appeared stupid in front of Shye.

"MHRRMM! I must admit. I'm impressed that you're able to procure a crafting material of this level as a rookie. I truly did the right thing by partnering with you." Meido honestly praised, evidently pleased to have the chance to work on a flood dragon's prime scale. "Now, tell me what you want."

The young blacksmith's straightforward personality was truly like a breath of fresh air for Shye.

"Can you craft a pair of adamantite-tier greatswords for me?" Shye inquired, curious to discover the maximum weapon tier achievable with the prime dragon scale he had provided.

*PAH!*

Unfortunately, what he received as a response was a solid slap from Meido's enormous paper fan. Explore more stories with m,v l'e-m|p| y r

"Stop dreaming. Your prime dragon scale is amazing, however, it is of below-average quality. If I'm on a roll, maybe I can craft you mithril-tier greatswords. Adamantite-tier is simply out of the question."

"I see…I understand…" Shye replied, feigning a downcast countenance when in fact, he was very satisfied with the results.

Witnessing Shye's disappointed expression, Meido couldn't help but follow up.

"B-But don't worry! I'll try my best. I guarantee at least one mithril ranked greatsword!"

Promptly after hearing the young blacksmith's guarantee, Shye's downcast expression vanished into thin air, replaced by the widest smile Meido had ever seen.

"I see! Blacksmith Meido is truly skilled also, please take a look at this."

The young blacksmith was taken aback by the rapid emotional changes displayed by Shye's face, however, her attention was quickly redirected to the modest-sized chest Shye held in his hands.

"What's that?" Meido curiously asked, eager to see what the chest contained.

Shye didn't reply and instead, he let the contents do the talking for him.

"T-THIS IS!!"

"Yes, high-grade unique gemstones," Shye said with a smile. "I would like to use the high-grade expelvoid gemstone to enchant the mithril-ranked greatsword that you guaranteed. As for the other greatsword, please use the high-grade inferno stone."

Hearing Shye's request, Meido almost started jumping in excitement again, momentarily forgetting something important.

(S) tier crafting materials and high-grade unique gemstones?! Count her in!

"How much would all of this cost me?" Shye's voice once again sounded, snapping Meido back to reality.

"R-Right. It would cost you 2,500 gold coins." Meido seriously replied, causing Shye's eyeballs to almost pop out of their sockets.

'F-F*ck! I only got 1,800 gold coins on me right now!'

Fortunately, Meido wasn't done speaking yet.

"However, since you have a 40% discount due to our partnership, everything would only cost you 1,500 gold coins." She said with a gentle smile, allowing Shye to breathe a sigh of relief soon after.

If not for him accepting the 40% discount the young blacksmith offered back at Valenzia City, he would've humiliated himself today.

'I should use this transaction as a reference in the future…' Shye inwardly thought, feeling lucky that he escaped embarrassment today.

Retrieving 1,500 gold coins from the system's inventory, Shye attempted to hand them over to Meido, who had a confused expression.

"Huh? What's this?"

"My payment."

"Hold it for now. Once I finish your greatswords, then pay me."

"I-I see, okay then. How long will it take for you to finish them?"

"Three days."

"Okay, I'll be back in three days then."

After finalizing his transaction with his partnered blacksmith, Meido Chan, Shye left the smithy, ignoring countless hostile gazes as the young blacksmith slammed the door shut.

In the lengthy line of adventurers, a singular individual gazed at Shye with not just hostility, but also with a sense of excitement.
