Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 317: I’ll Never Choose You So It’s Pointless To Make You Wait

'Hoh? So this is Kossin City huh?' Shye thought as Kossin City's green-colored walls emerged from the horizon.

A week and a half swiftly passed since he bitterly parted with Shirley—her stifled sobs unfitting for someone called "Ice Queen", still fresh in his mind.

Well, focusing on their careers as adventurers was the correct thing to do, hence, they had to temporarily combat the loneliness of living alone—all for a bright future.

They were still young and they both had many years ahead of them.

No need to rush.

Approaching the gates of Kossin City, an academy renowned for its consistent presence in the championship stage of the Adventurer Academy Competition, Shye made his way toward the guards.

He didn't know why Meido would choose an academy city as her base of operations but hey, each individual is entitled to their own preferences.

"Hello, may I please see your Kossin badge?"

"Hello, I'm just visiting, here's my adventurer license and guild token."

"Ahh, I see. Please wait for a moment as I verify your identification documents."

The Kossin city guard worked efficiently, completing the verification process in just 30 seconds, and granting Shye entry promptly afterward.

'Hoh? So this is Kossin City hu– wait…did I already say that?'

Upon entering, Shye was utterly impressed.

Balkrow City, a frontier city, was nowhere near this developed!

'Is the budget given by the World Adventurer Association truly that significant?' He wondered.

There was no other plausible explanation considering that the adventurer zones he passed by near the city were all either beginner, intermediate, or advanced.

There weren't even expert adventurer zones nearby unlike Balkrow.

"Oh, by the way, do you know where blacksmith Meido's smithy is?" Shye asked the guard, who suddenly laughed in response.

"Hahaha! I knew it, there was a recent influx of adventurers due to blacksmith Meido's performance in the blacksmith competition so I figured you would be one of those adventurers. However, let me give you a warning. You probably won't even have the chance to meet her so it would be better for you to give up for now and try another time."

Hearing the guard's long reply which didn't even contain a single word that was related to his question, Shye's easily angered heart naturally flared up.

He currently didn't have the patience to put up with such a bullcrap of an answer.

Still, he tried to be as nice as possible.

"And? Where is it located?" Shye disrespectfully replied, causing the guard to furrow his brows in response.

"Wha–? Didn't I tell you that it would be pointless? You think you're someone special? Fine, if you still want to try, her smithy is located in the middle of Parker Street."

"Thanks"

Shye and the guard didn't develop any positive impressions towards each other, however, Shye didn't think that he needed to escalate such a light beef, hence, he simply decided to end their conversation with a rude "thanks."

"Heh! I'll remember you, kid. I shall laugh at your disappointed face later." The loathsome guard added as he watched Shye walk towards Parker Street.

'Heh, I'll make sure to rub my Meido brand greatswords in your face later.' Shye thought, giving the guard one last glance before turning the corner. 'Hoh, such a long queue…'

Witnessing how long the queue was for Meido's shop, Shye couldn't help but chuckle.

'Luckily, I have order priority.' He mused as he calmly walked past the long queue, causing heads with hostile expressions to turn his way.

Well, most of them had been waiting for around a week now, yet, it seemed like they still had to wait for another week to get their turn—some even longer.

Not Shye's problem though.

He got the order priority and partnership through his own skills as an adventurer and honesty in doing business with Meido, hence, it was only natural that he would use it.

"Hey, little idiot. Go to the back of the line." One angry adventurer who had been waiting for a week said.

Unfortunately, he was merely ignored by Shye who directly waited in front of the door, right beside the first in line who was utterly irked by his actions.

Luckily, the guy wasn't a random idiot who would force him to go to the back of the queue, allowing him to stay in front, albeit with a hint of a mocking smile.

Shye was aware that the man intended to mock and belittle him, once Meido compelled him to join the back of the queue like any other adventurer.

Unfortunately for the guy in front, such an outcome was unlikely to occur.

*CREAK!*

Once the door opened, the adventurers perked up, fixing their clothes in hopes of attracting Meido's attention.

The young blacksmith was quite peculiar, after all.

Although the one in front had the highest chance of being chosen next, there were a few instances where individuals were chosen simply because Blacksmith Meido took a liking to them.

Hence, regardless of how exhausted and irate the adventurers felt, none of them dared to display their negative attitudes for fear of making a poor impression on Meido.

"Now then, who's next?"

Meido's familiar voice sounded, causing Shye to smile excitedly as he waited for Meido to notice him.

The young blacksmith asked a question, yet, no one answered.

It appeared that the adventurers hesitated to respond with "me." Experience new tales on m v|l e'm,p| y- r

Well, it was understandable though, as Meido never chose someone who answered her question.

Satisfied that the adventurers already learned their lesson, Meido nodded in satisfaction, only to be irked the next second as the young man in front suddenly answered.

"Me!"

Hearing Shye's idiotic response, the guy in front almost burst out in laughter.

'Hahahaha! You idiot! Now, Meido will never choose you!'

Only, his assumption was way off as Meido's eyes suddenly widened upon seeing Shye.

"Oh? Crowley! What brings you here?"

"Hello, Blacksmith Chan, I'm here to trouble you to craft a weapon for me."

"Just call me Meido, we're around the same age anyway. Come, let's talk inside."

Naturally, the young blacksmith's reply stupefied them, especially the guy in front who finally couldn't help but speak out.

"B-Blacksmith Meido! I've been here for a week and a half and I believe I at least deserve to go first!" The front guy said with an irked yet desperate expression. "Can you at least explain how this bastard, who arrived just now, got chosen over me?"

"Hmmm? I believe I don't owe you an explanation. If you can't wait for your turn, then go somewhere else! I don't want to craft a weapon for someone as impatient as you. Actually, will you please leave now? I'll never choose you so it would be pointless to make you wait."

"N-No! I apologize, Blacksmith Meido. Please! Give me another ch–"

*BANG!*

The front guy's words were rudely cut off as Meido ruthlessly slammed the door shut right in front of his face.

'A week and a half of waiting—gone just like that'

Was the thought that echoed in the front guy's mind.
