Chapter 103.2: Life Grass Seeds
The others paused momentarily before nodding in agreement, their respect for Thor growing.
They knew that if they were in Thor’s position, they might not have been able to resist.
“Baron Pape, Baron Valmy, attack from the right.”
“Baron Graton, Lord Saatchi, Lord Jas, attack from the left. I’ll charge from the center. Don’t let any of the kobolds escape—they’re all carrying valuable ores.”
Thor swiftly gave his orders.
“Yes, sir!”
The five quickly responded.
The troops spread out.
Just as April Neon’s defenses were on the brink of collapse and kobolds began to flood the castle.
“Charge!”
A shout echoed, and in the next moment, a cavalry unit charged from the forest, attacking the kobolds from behind.
Baron April Neon, who had nearly given up hope, brightened with excitement.
“Reinforcements!”
“Reinforcements from the kingdom!”
“Hold the line! We have hope now!!”
April Neon’s voice trembled with excitement and disbelief, his body shaking from uncontrollable emotion.
Never had he expected reinforcements in such a dire situation.
His once hopeless heart reignited with hope.
The entire castle, from knights to commoners, was filled with renewed vigor.
The kobolds were soon surrounded and trapped.
Their previous excitement quickly turned into panic.
Panic spread, creating more chaos.
The five second-rank kobolds tried to rally the others but were quickly targeted by the lords of the Maine Alliance.
The kobold leader was confronted directly by Thor.
While the kobolds were strong, the Maine Alliance’s lords were stronger.
In less than fifteen minutes, four of the five second-tier kobolds were slain.
Even the kobold leader fell to Thor.
As for the rest, they were wiped out by the knights of the Maine Alliance and Baron April Neon’s forces. Not a single kobold escaped.
With several hundred knights under Baron April Neon’s command and the Maine Alliance’s numbers not far off, the element of surprise led to an overwhelming victory.
When the knights noticed the ores hanging from the kobolds’ necks, their eyes lit up.
Unlike other orcs, kobolds enjoyed adorning themselves with precious ores. This particular tribe wore high-quality copper ore, which barely required any smelting.
Over three thousand kobolds meant over three thousand pieces of high-quality copper ore.
The value of this haul was around two to three hundred gold coins.
Of course, Thor wasn’t too interested in these ores.
He was focused on the seeds of the Life Grass.
His figure searched through the Kobold leader's corpse, and soon his eyes lit up as he found a small package.
He gently opened it, revealing seeds the size of soybeans. These seeds clearly contained a significant amount of life force, suggesting that they were indeed the seeds of the Life Grass.
Thor smiled with joy and tucked the seeds into his pocket.
After searching for a while longer, he soon discovered another scroll identical to the one he had found before.
Frowning slightly, Thor still decided to pocket the scroll as well.
While Thor was looting the Kobold leader, the others were also cleaning up the battlefield.
Occasionally, laughter could be heard.
Moments later, Baron April Neon, having somewhat recovered, slowly walked over.
“Thank you, my lord, for saving us. I, April Neon, am forever grateful!”
“How should I address you?”
Baron April Neon spoke with gratitude, giving Thor a perfectly executed knightly bow.
“No need for formalities, Baron April Neon. We are from the Maine Alliance of the Maine Valley. I am Thor Dresrosa. This is Baron Pape Lawrence, Baron Valmy, Baron Graton, and these two are Lord Saatchi and Lord Jas.”
Thor smiled and nodded before introducing the others to April Neon.
“Thor Dresrosa? My word, could you be the newly titled heir of House Dresrosa from a few days ago?”
April Neon exclaimed in surprise.
“No, no, that’s not right!”
“The Maine Alliance?”
“What is going on?”
After his initial surprise, it seemed that something else dawned on Baron April Neon. He couldn't help but ask again, looking at the group in shock.
He had already witnessed the immense strength of Thor’s knightly group in the earlier battle. Originally, he thought Thor was the heir of some top noble family, but now, hearing Thor’s words, he realized that wasn’t the case.
Although Dresrosa was a count’s family, they were not considered top nobility.
Moreover, this power wasn’t Thor’s alone but that of an alliance.
Since when had the northern province nobles been able to trust each other like this?
Especially considering that Thor Dresrosa was among them, along with four barons and two pioneering lords.
It was simply unbelievable.
In the ten years that Baron April Neon had lived in the northern province, he had never heard of anything like this.
Seeing his shock, Thor smiled but said nothing.
Along the way, theirs was not the only noble alliance that had surprised others. In fact, any lord who heard of it would have been equally astonished.
