DxD: Infernal Destroyer

DxD 0042: States of Boosted Gear

He slept with Rias again that night as they spooned in the same position. The transference and cycling of his energy through her body were already more efficient due to the passive effect of the transfer ability of the Boosted Gear.

Remembering Draig’s words, he made sure to add another destination to that cycling of his Destruction energy, the core of the Boosted Gear within his soul. He wanted to get it to work in conjunction with Destruction Energy quickly as he was impatient to see the result of having his Armor of Destruction merge with the Boosted Gear.

Aika woke him up in the morning as usual as he opened his eyes hugging both Rias and Akeno at his sides.

‘This is the life…’ He thought as he felt their smooth legs tangled up against his own while their breasts pressed against his torso, giving him a primal level of satisfaction.

Soon, he woke the other two up as they all went by with their day. Abaddon decided on researching the Boosted Gear as he wanted to know everything about it. He would also confirm those tidbits of useful information from Draig to know if they were true.

He had one of the servants of the Bael clan deliver a set of books to him.

Those books didn’t just contain information about Boosted Gear, but about all of the different Longinus as he was curious about all of their functions.

With the long history of the Bael clan, they had quite a large amount of information about the Longinus sacred gears. It included their hosts and a variety of different things.

Abaddon spent the day reading up on the information that was in those books.

“How can I get access to the Balance Breaker?” He asked Draig. Each user had a unique method of accessing the ability.

‹The initial activation requires a sacrifice. A part of your body will have to be used as the conduit for the massive quantity of Draconic energy. Now one of two things would happen in that case. Either your body will be able to naturally handle and assimilate the draconic energy… Which, I’ll be frank, is virtually impossible without immense time to adjust and adapt. Or that specific part of your body will be semi-permanently changed and become that of a dragon. Whether it’s a perk or not is up to you.›

Draig’s words send Abaddon deep into thought. “What if I decide to use my heart as the conduit?” He asked after thinking for a while.

‹You could do that and it would bring you a massive benefit…›

“There’s a but…” Abaddon realized.

‹There’s an off chance that your heart will be overwhelmed and explode due to the influx of the overbearing Draconic energy. It might seem like the heart would be an ideal option, but it’s really not. At least initially while your body is still getting used to the gear.›

“In the scenario that I have to get Balance Breaker… What part do you recommend?” He asked Draig.

‹Your left arm. It’s the arm that initially spawned the gauntlet so it is the part of the body with the highest chance for manageability as it has a close physical connection to the gear. It would be the ideal option for both assimilation of the Draconic energy and for activating Balance Breaker.›

“So there’s a chance of failure in the activation of the Balance Breaker too…” Abaddon asked.

‹There are risks in everything. And desperate situations call for desperate mesures.›

Abaddon went silent hearing Draig’s solemn tone.

“I see… Good to know.” He said as he got up from the chair that he’d spent the day studying on and decided to take a walk.

“What about the Juggernaut Drive?” He asked Draig.

‹You can think of it as a forbidden move that essentially turns you into the Welsh Dragon. Of course, there are limitations. But people in the state of Juggernaut Drive are practically unstoppable by normal means. Though it has an equally heavy price for that power.›

“I’m starting to see a pattern. None of the Boosted Gear users had very long lives… Essentially, none of the Longinus users have had very long lives…” Abaddon commented.

‹Giving people access to power makes them desperate for more. And the Juggernaut drive is the most addictive one there is and the most harmful one. It directly sucks in your life force after each use. Someone like you with a lifespan of more than 10 millennia will die after using the Juggernaut Drive around 10 to 15 times. And that’s on the high end of the spectrum due to you being a pure-blooded devil. Each use will massively weaken your lifespan. Of course, it’s not that iron-clad, many factors affect the loss of lifespan, but that’s the gist of it.›

“Using it once shaves off almost 1000 years? Brutal…” Abaddon commented indifferently. He wasn’t ever planning on being in such a desperate situation. He was going to take his own path that would start with him melding the boosted gear with his Armor of Destruction.

“One can naturally awaken the Balance Breaker state, right?” He confirmed.

‹Yes. With time, the draconic energy will naturally spread through your body and make the flow of draconic energy during the summoning of the Balance Breaker natural.›

Draig’s words put him at ease as he pushed open the door to the student council room to look for Sona.

“Abaddon? Did you need something?” Sona was wearing glasses and reading something as she looked up at him. On the other hand, her entire peerage had frozen up at his presence. On the other hand, Tsubaki cheerily said, “Greetings, Abaddon-san…”

“Can’t I look for you just because I miss you?” He smiled at Sona and turned to Tsubaki, “How are you, Tsubaki.” She mumbled a response as he brought his full attention to Sona who was looking around at the reactions of her peerage. And seeing their hostile yet apprehensive expressions, she sighed and got up from her desk before walking to the door, “Come on Abaddon. Let’s talk outside…” She said, walking out of the door.

“What’s up? She asked him as he stood in front of her. He was almost a head taller than her and she had to look up to meet his gaze.

“You free? I want to hang out…” He said.

“I wanted to laze around…” Sona said hesitantly, “I just have two more contracts to process then I’m done. I was planning on watching some TV and resting…” She looked at him with an expectant gaze.

Seeing her expression, he smiled and said, “I’m up for movies, or are you doing Anime? It’s been a while since I’ve watched Dragon Ball…” He said with a chuckle.

“Wait.” Sona stopped him from continuing, “That’s why you keep going Hakai in every rating game…!” Sona asked him with disbelief.

“Of course. I don’t actually need to say it to destroy people, that would be very inefficient. On the other hand, it just sounds cool…” He said with a smile.

Sona shook her head with a smile at his antics, “I was planning on watching a romance anime, but we could do your choice too, I don’t mind.” She was willing to compromise.

“Mushy romance with a complete story?” He asked.

“I was thinking something along the lines of Your Lie in April…” Sona said with a smile.

“I’m in, it’s already halfway through April and I haven’t rewatched it yet…” He answered.

“Awesome, you’re the best, Abaddon…” Sona hugged him before hesitantly saying, “Here’s the key to my room… Don’t touch anything, I’ll be there in 10 minutes.” She said with a rapidly reddening face before walking back into the clubroom.

‘I might not be able to make it tonight, Rias…’ He thought. If they were gonna do a Your Lie in April marathon, he needed the whole night to recover from the mental pain and that meant sleeping with Sona, ‘She’ll be mad…’

Rias was sitting in her chair with an angry expression on her face after she just hung up on Abaddon.

“What happened, Buchou?” Kiba asked her.

“It’s nothing, I’ll have to sleep alone tonight…” She pouted angrily.

“Ara~ ara~ My king is already addicted to sleeping with A-kun after two nights…” Akeno teased Rias.

“Shut it, Akeno…” Rias growled angrily, “Did you check up on that nun he was talking about?” Rias asked, changing the topic.

“Yes, Buchou. She’s on the way and will reach here in the morning. I think we should intercept the group at the church early on. I’m sure that they would be acting quickly after losing one of their members.” Akeno gave Rias her view.

“We will, but we have to observe things first. I don’t want to go into an unfamiliar situation blind. Send your familiars to scout out the situation so that we know what we’re dealing with.” Rias said.

“Don’t we already know their situation from A-kun?” Akeno asked, tilting her head to the side cutely.

“We do, but they might have called in backup after realizing that one of their members completely disappeared. And considering the fact that Hyoudou is dead, they would be even more apprehensive since they don’t know whom they are dealing with.” Rias said.

“You really need to make your presence more prominent in the town, Buchou. People are acting freely as if they don’t even know that this territory is under your management.” Akeno said with dissatisfaction in her tone.

“I know, Akeno… But that kind of stuff takes time. I’ve just arrived and we’ll have quite a few people testing our mettle.” Rias sighed.
