DND Realms: The Rise of the Titan-Dragon Prodigy

Chapter 422: Chapter 422: A Casual Strike

Breathing in the fresh air of the material realm, the Barloth Flame Demon felt the favor of the Abyssal Will. This was a place countless demons dreamed of reaching.

Here, abundant soul resources were available. Even if it meant answering the weak calls of material beings and descending in the most energy-consuming projection form, countless demons would compete for the chance, all for the mere opportunity to harvest souls.

Yet, here it was, effortlessly present in its true form within the material realm, unfettered by the laws of this world, able to exert its strength fully.

How could it not be thrilled? Being able to unleash its full power, how could the coddled flowers of the material realm possibly stand against it?

In fact, demons are the least concerned with origins. With sufficient power, even an Abyssal worm could evolve into a top-tier existence like a Barloth Flame Demon.

Further still, becoming an Abyssal Lord or even a Demon Monarch was not out of the question. Of course, according to current intelligence, among all known Demon Monarchs of the Abyss, none had evolved from a worm.

But that didn't mean such beings didn't exist in the Abyss. The Abyss had existed for too long, and its layers were too numerous; no one could clearly say just how many there were.

Thus, in the distant past, perhaps an Abyssal worm did indeed, through relentless struggle and a series of fortunate events, become one of the top beings in the Abyss, causing countless creatures of the material realm to tremble in fear.

The waters of the Abyss run deep. Though Demon Monarch Dimoga Groot claims to be the strongest demon of the Abyss, other Demon Monarchs consider this a joke, with none acknowledging the title.

Even lesser demons merely respect his power verbally; in reality, none truly agree. Many Abyssal Lords are inactive, spending long periods in slumber, not drawing the attention of such beings.

The position of the Dragon Queen Tiamat's divine realm suggests as much. With her power, unafraid of deities of significant divine strength, she still chose to place her divine realm on the first layer of the Bottomless Abyss, the Myriad Abyss Plain.

The Myriad Abyss Plain is not a pleasant place, being a battlefield where chaotic demons and orderly devils clash. Yet, the Dragon Queen placed her divine realm there, which is quite telling.

Could it be that the Dragon Queen did not wish to place her divine realm deeper in the Abyss? Or perhaps, she had concerns. Placing her divine realm on the Myriad Abyss Plain seemed more about leveraging some deterrent presence in the Abyss to intimidate her enemies.

"I sense it, a human settlement." The Barloth Flame Demon, having easily arrived on the continent of Nockiao Europe, looked greedily and excitedly in one direction.

Even chaotic demons knew that if they had the opportunity to harvest souls in the material realm, the most profitable approach was to massacre humans, as, in terms of strength, quality, and quantity, the soul yield from humans was the most cost-effective.

After identifying the nearest human settlement, the Barloth Flame Demon spread its wide demonic wings, flames blazing hotly. Just as it was about to take flight, a sudden intense sense of danger surged, causing its heart to beat rapidly, and its thick veins to pulsate as if they might burst.

Without time to ponder this sudden lethal threat, the Barloth Flame Demon instinctively dodged based on its countless battles, avoiding the hand aiming for its head. Still, some of the lightning wrapped around the hand struck its head.

"Roar!" After dodging this deadly attack, the Barloth Flame Demon rapidly lunged forward, creating distance before quickly turning to face its attacker.

"Crackling!" The sound of trees burning and bursting followed. Where the Barloth Flame Demon stood, trees caught fire, and even the rocks and soil under its feet began to melt, showing signs of turning into magma under the power of this high-ranking demon.

"Titan!" Seeing the imposing figure tearing through space and stepping forward, unabashedly releasing its aura, the already fierce face of the Barloth Flame Demon contorted with anger, shock, and fear.

"You're too weak. Did you just wake up?" The Titan, clad in black armor with golden patterns, looked at the legendary realm Barloth Flame Demon with disappointment, tossing the demon's severed, metallic-hued, and still-burning horn to the ground.

"My horn." Seeing his horn discarded like trash by the Titan, the Barloth Flame Demon couldn't help but touch the stump on his head, his face becoming even more twisted.

That strike had not been fully evaded; the Titan had managed to break off half of his horn, a profound humiliation!

"When did you Titans start to stoop to lowly devil tactics like ambushes?" the Barloth Flame Demon taunted, knowing well that verbal jabs were part of combat. Demons might be chaotic beings,

but that didn't mean they were fools.

"Ambush? You flatter yourself," Ansul, the gold-eyed Titan, watched the "slow-reacting" Barloth Flame Demon indifferently. "I merely sensed your presence and grabbed casually. I didn't expect you to be so frail."

"Casually?" The indifference and casual tone of Ansul deeply wounded the pride of the Barloth Flame Demon because everything the Titan said was undoubtedly true, fitting a Titan's code of conduct.

A Titan breaking protocol to ambush him was unlikely; Titans were known for their overwhelming frontal assaults.

"How did such trash rise to become a Barloth Flame Demon?" Ansul stepped towards the demon he had casually disarmed, "Is it because one of your parents was a Barloth Flame Demon? So you were born this way?"

"I climbed my way up from lesser demons," the Barloth Flame Demon retorted, unable to bear the disdain, "I just awoke from slumber, which is why you could so easily break off my horn."

"Is that so?" Ansul paused, his voice filled with confidence, "Then I'll give you time to adjust. Prepare yourself to fall here in your best form."

"Roar!" Hearing the Titan's contemptuous words, the Barloth Flame Demon went berserk. Flames of demonic energy ignited from its body, its signature beheading sword and flame whip appearing, spreading a sinister glow...
