Chapter 75
The corner of Shu Hanyu’s eyes reddened as he saw Shu Jintian’s figure drifting in the waves at the depths of the blue water and he rushed over with his quickest speed.
His enormous snake body pressed down on the sandy ground and instantly glided to Shu Jintian. His head raced to Shu Jintian’s side and his tail was already coiled around Shu Jintian’s waist. It was tight enough that Shu Jintian found breathing a little difficult.
In his excitement, Shu Hanyu’s strength went slightly out of control and he tumbled on the ground while curled around Shu Jintian.
Shu Jintian coughed softly and said with a trembling voice, “Hanyu~ Is- is it really you?”
Shu Hanyu finally calmed a little upon hearing Shu Jintian’s uncomfortable coughs and hastily loosened his body. He continuously rubbed his head against Shu Jintian, and his eyes that had always been firm and cold-blooded were unexpectedly a little wet. For the first time in his life, he experienced the feeling of tears.
Shu Jintian’s trembling hand touched Shu Hanyu’s smooth snake head, his fingers following the contours of Shu Hanyu’s face and the wounds on his body that hadn’t fully recovered.
“It’s really you, I’m right, it is you! I’m not dreaming!” Shu Jintian’s voice was choked with light sobs, and his eyes were turning hot from the sourness.
“Isn’t your recovery very fast? Why haven’t you recovered even after so long this time? Is it because you didn’t have a proper rest because you were looking for me?” Shu Jintian tenderly stroked the light-coloured scars on Shu Hanyu’s body, his heart twinging with pain.
“Sss~” Shu Hanyu stuck his forked tongue out to lick Shu Jintian’s trembling lips, and couldn’t resist rubbing against his cheek again.
Finally found you, my Tiantian.
“Baba~~” Guoguo spat out his forked tongue and crawled towards male father.
Guoguo didn’t share the complicated emotions of the adults and only felt pure excitement, his four stumpy limbs hugging his fathers.
Hong Zao ran back in high spirits and saw the scene of two people and a snake hugging intimately. The sight before the mermaid was like a bolt out of the blue. Hong Zao’s footsteps stopped and he was unable to take even half a step.
Why? Why was Xiao Tian hugging another male so intimately? Xiao Tian never even hugged him like this before. Even in his sleep, Xiao Tian had never approached him so intimately.
Hong Zao seemed to have fallen in an icehouse. He was deathly pale and his arms holding the firewood tightened to the point of stiffness, yet he himself couldn’t feel it.
Hong Zao kept standing in his position and staring at them blankly, finding it hard to accept reality. Personally seeing the three of them so intimate like a family, he could even sense their joy from meeting after a long separation.
Suddenly, Shu Hanyu’s body abruptly flipped and he straightened his body, looking at a brick wall defensively and spitting out his forked tongue.
“What’s wrong, Hanyu?” Shu Jintian was also flipped over. He spoke in confusion after an earth-spinning dizziness.
“Ssss~~” Shu Hanyu let Shu Jintian go, looking at a place with a cold gaze, and his murderous spirit emanating.
Shu Jintian couldn’t help shivering. He followed Shu Hanyu’s line of sight and looked over. On the overgrown rock wall was sparse few shrubbery. The stone ground that originally had been clean had a pile of messy firewood that were scattered all over the place. Someone came here!
“Hong Zao?” Shu Jintian then realised that he had previously told Hong Zao to gather firewood. When he met Shu Hanyu, he had forgotten the time, so Hong Zao probably had returned for a very long time ba. But why did he leave again?
The cold light in Shu Hanyu’s eyes grew and he turned into his human form, sharply saying, “You know him?”
Guoguo instinctively sensed the danger and secretly crawled a little further away, looking worriedly at female father who was still beside male father.
Wuwuwu~~~ Male father is so scary. Only female father would be so brave to be so close to male father.
Shu Jintian felt even more distressed when he saw Shu Hanyu’s human form. Shu Hanyu was just a long strip in his snake form and they were also too close together, so Shu Jintian did not notice anything wrong. But now that Shu Hanyu turned into his human form, he realised with a start that he had gotten much thinner. There wasn’t any meat on his body at all, and his bones were visibly protruding.
“Hanyu… why- why are you so thin?” Shu Jintian’s voice was choked with sobs and he nearly couldn’t speak. His hands touched Shu Hanyu’s chest and shoulders, feeling his bones pressing against his hands.
“I asked if you know him? Tiantian has always been with him?” Shu Hanyu’s anger erupted and he picked Shu Jintian up bridal-style, striding towards the rock wall the merman had disappeared behind.
Shu Jintian finally processed Shu Hanyu’s words and knew that he definitely misunderstood.
“Yes, I know him,” Shu Jintian hastily said. He instantly felt the cold air around Shu Hanyu grow and hurried to continue, “It was him who saved me; otherwise I would have been long dead. He’s also been helping me, so don’t be hostile to him.”
Guoguo followed behind his fathers blindly, his short limbs swiftly crawling. His white little butt was shaking left and right, wiggling actively.
Hearing that the merman had saved Shu Jintian’s life, Shu Hanyu’s anger lessened. They had already walked to the side of the firewood but the merman was nowhere in sight.
Seeing Shu Hanyu’s expression improved a little, Shu Jintian quietly sighed in relief. In order for there to not be any problems between them, Shu Jintian cleared his throat uneasily and quietly said, “You seem to have misunderstood something ba. There’s nothing between us.”
Even if there was, he definitely wouldn’t let big snake know. Regardless of whether it was for Hong Zao or for their future, he definitely couldn’t let big snake know!
“Really? Tiantian didn’t mate with him?” Shu Hanyu’s expression got better and his emerald green and ink-spotted eyes gleamed as he looked straight at Shu Jintian.
Shu Jintian nearly threw up a mouthful of blood.
“What made you think so? Fuck! Luckily you’re this calm; if it was laozi, I would have long castrated you adulterer,” Shu Jintian tilted his head to Shu Hanyu and raved.
“You really didn’t? Then why did he attack me yesterday? Isn’t it to seize you?” Shu Hanyu impatiently asked.
“What? He attacked you? You’ve met? Then was it you who bit him that day?” Shu Jintian was incredibly shocked and peppered him with questions.
“Mn!” Shu Hanyu nodded with a cold face. If it weren’t for that merman, he wouldn’t have dragged on for so long before he found Tiantian.
Perceiving Shu Hanyu’s bad mood, Shu Jintian restrained his voice and quietly said, “You aren’t hurt, right? You guys seem to have fought quite heavily.”
Not daring to show his concern for Hong Zao before Shu Hanyu, Shu Jintian could only silently apologize to Hong Zao in place of Shu Hanyu.
“I’m fine.” Shu Hanyu clearly did not want to mention the matters of that day, and ended the topic with a word.
“Baba~~” Guoguo who had been given the cold shoulder for a long time finally couldn’t help calling out. Lying down on the ground, he tilted his head up to Shu Jintian and called out stickily.
Shu Jintian also no longer interrogated him and struggled to jump out of Shu Hanyu’s embrace, picking up the pitiful Guoguo on the ground and gently coaxing, “Is Guoguo hungry? Let’s go eat, alright?”
After Shu Jintian said that, he turned his head to say to Shu Hanyu, “You must be hungry as well ba. We still have food there, so eat some first ba.”
“Okay.”
During the days Shu Hanyu looked for Shu Jintian, he practically ate nothing. He was now truly hungry, and so he obediently nodded.
But Shu Hanyu didn’t touch a single one of what the merman caught. He went into the water and ate his fill, and even brought some fresh fish and kelp for Shu Jintian. Shu Hanyu understood Shu Jintian’s tastes, and Shu Jintian who hadn’t had the best appetite for the past two days also finally ate until he was seven-tenths full.
The three filled their stomachs and Shu Jintian brough Shu Hanyu back to the rock crevice they previously found.
“Looking at your tired appearance, you didn’t rest well ba. You should have a good sleep, Hanyu.” Shu Hanyu was incredibly distressed and spoke to Shu Hanyu in concern
“This place is full of his scent.” Shu Hanyu’s face shuttered once he entered this crevice, disdainfully kicking aside the grass saturated with the merman’s scent.
“Eh~~~ Then let’s change ba!” Shu Jintian knew that Shu Hanyu had a sensitive nose and didn’t want to force him, actively gathering the grass on the ground.
“Eh? What’s this?” Shu Jintian was just shoving the grass into a pile when he suddenly realised that Hong Zao’s sleeping position was a bit odd. Spreading apart the grass, he saw that inside was a large pile of various coloured pearls as well as things like brightly coloured conches and aesthetic shells.
Shu Jintian’s lips quirked. He didn’t think that Hong Zao had such a hobby; it really was surprising. But all these things were quite gorgeous. Hong Zao had pretty good eyes.
“Hmph! Still saying there’s nothing between you. He’s already preparing to decorate this place as your nest.” Shu Hanyu was jealous and wished he could tear the merman to shreds.
“What?” Shu Jintian was puzzled and felt that Shu Hanyu probably knew something he didn’t.
“Mermen love beauty by nature. If a male merman finds his mate, he will find various beautiful things they like to decorate their nest.” Shu Hanyu’s face couldn’t be any darker, and after saying this, he snatched away the multi-coloured pearl in Shu Jintian’s hand and forcefully threw it out.
“Is that so ah.” Shu Jintian was a little nonplussed, staring blankly at the things Shu Hanyu had thrown out.
He just knew that Hong Zao had some feelings for him that shouldn’t be, but didn’t know he was so serious. Fortunately, big snake came now, and didn’t make Hong Zao fall deeper and deeper.
“Don’t bother with him; you’re mine. So tiring, let’s sleep ba.” During these days, Shu Hanyu did not sleep much, and spent day and night looking for Shu Jintian. Now that he found him and had eaten his fill, Shu Hanyu finally felt an unending sleepiness.
“Mn, let’s sleep ba. Guoguo, hurry up and come over.” Shu Jintian fondly squeezed into Shu Hanyu’s arms, finding the best position to lay in.
Hearing Shu Jintian’s words, Guoguo looked at Shu Hanyu hesitantly.
Shu Hanyu then earnestly sized up Guoguo who had always been beside Shu Jintian, a praising look in his eyes. Fortunately the little snake was here this time and Shu Jintian was saved. If Guoguo wanted to live with them, he would just turn a blind eye to it. Moreover, when he wasn’t home, Guoguo could also protect Shu Jintian.
Seeing Shu Hanyu’s tacit acceptance, Guoguo joyfully crawled to Shu Jintian’s side. His soft and sticky limbs crawled over Shu Jintian’s body and drilled in between the two.
Shu Hanyu’s face darkened; Guoguo unexpectedly dared to separate him and Tiantian. Just as he was about to kick aside this little gremlin, Shu Jintian hugged Guoguo.
“So good~” Shu Jintian gathered Guoguo up and kissed his face.
Shu Hanyu privately snorted and hugged Shu Jintian with Guoguo between them.
The family three thus closely embraced each other and had a sleep that had not been this peaceful in a very long time.
