Chapter 15: Definitely Like The Beautiful Seabed
Warning: Mild description of Jintian’s wounds
The meat of the Blazing Bird was unexpectedly delicious. Shu Jintian ate two entire legs and supported his waist that almost couldn’t bend over.
After these few days of understanding, Shu Jintian discovered that Shu Hanyu was extremely scared of being scalded. Even if it was food that was slightly hot, he wouldn’t eat it.
After eating up two chicken legs, the remaining two had already turned completely cold. As such, Shu Jintian reluctantly gave the remaining meat for Shu Hanyu to eat.
Shu Jintian patted Shu Hanyu’s shoulder and pretended to generously say, “Brother, blessings and hardships should be shared. Since the two of us caught this bird together, let’s eat this meat together as well ba!”
Shu Hanyu frowned. He didn’t like to eat the strange things the female ate, but unable to bear rejecting the female’s kindness, he just swallowed the leftovers of the female’s food in one gulp.
The Blazing Bird’s claws were extremely sharp. Shu Jintian was a prime example; he was perfectly fine but his injury really wasn’t light. The two birds clawed on his back and left behind four deep, bloody gashes.
There was a laceration on his lower back that was particularly deep, with a piece of flesh taken away by the sharp claw. The sides of the wounds were faintly raised upwards, revealing the red flesh inside, and looked especially fierce.
His right hand that was pecked by the bird beak was even more severe; the wound was so deep that the bone was visible, and hurt so much that Shu Jintian couldn’t even move his hand.
Every time Shu Hanyu saw the female’s wounds, a torrent of anger would surge up. But the bird beasts that bullied the female were already dealt with by him; even if he wanted to vent further, the birds were dead and their nest was empty, as even the bird eggs were eaten by the female.
Without a direction to vent his anger, he could only force it down. When he coiled around the female to sleep, he did not dare touch his upper body in fear of accidentally hurting the female.
Shu Jintian himself thought nothing of it, though he felt that it was quite profitable since this wound stopped the big snake from tightly wrapping around him. The only unlucky ones were those pitiful big birds. Shu Jintian secretly lit a white candle for the big birds in his heart.
Since he was injured, Shu Hanyu dare not wrap around the female too tightly these two days. On the contrary, Shu Jintian had a very comfortable life recently. After steadily recuperating for over ten days, the wound on Shu Jintian’s hand had just about completely healed.
It was just that his right hand couldn’t quite use its strength completely. When he tried, it would ache dully. Meanwhile, the wound on his back healed quickly, and now, only a few dark red scars were left. His back was quite beautiful before but now, there was some damage on his lean and sturdy back.
Shu Jintian couldn’t see it himself and didn’t really care, but Shu Hanyu would see it every day and felt a little distressed. His fingers would unconsciously touch them though he dare not use even the slightest strength.
The early morning air was slightly cool, suffused with fresh and clean oxygen. The morning sun gradually rose and dyed the horizon and the clouds, warming the green mountain forest full of vitality.
The dewdrops at the tip of the leaves had not completely evaporated yet. Shu Hanyu’s forked tongue lapped at the triangular scar on Shu Jintian’s arm. When he saw the female shake his head and say he was fine, he then wound around him and started off.
Shu Jintian excitedly leaned against Shu Hanyu’s body, swallowing his saliva as he fantasised about gourmet food. He had brought everything he had, and wouldn’t have to leave his luggage behind if there was a chance to flee.
Time seemed to slowly pass while Shu Jintian eagerly waited. Shu Hanyu travelled at the same speed for the majority of the day and Shu Jintian was already a little hungry. Before they reached the place Shu Hanyu had mentioned, he somewhat anxiously asked, “We’re not there yet? How much further is it ah?”
Because Shu Hanyu did not inform him of the definite distance, he merely regarded it as going about the distance as when they usually went to play. He didn’t think that they wouldn’t arrive after travelling for this long, even with the big snake’s speed. This greatly exceeded his expectations.
Shu Jintian had planned to wait until they arrived before eating delicious food. But seeing that Shu Hanyu caught a small prey for him without even consulting him, he might as well roast and eat it.
However, Shu Jintian did not think that the place Shu Hanyu mentioned was so distant. This journey took a whole twenty days.
Shu Hanyu travelled through the day and night. When he was tired, he would casually find a place to curl up around the female and sleep, then continue hurrying on when he woke up.
Moreover, Shu Jintian slept more often compared to the big snake, but because he was lying on the snake, he could sleep whenever he wanted to. In this way, he was able to endure even with their haste.
If he had known it was this far, he wouldn’t have so offhandedly agreed like this. However, they had already gone this far and it would be too much of a waste to turn back, so Shu Jintian didn’t raise this topic.
Because the big snake was a little tired from his hurrying, he wrapped around him much less. For the most part, he only wrapped around him and went to sleep. This made Shu Jintian feel a little glad.
Then, he heard a faint gurgle of water and light began to gradually penetrate through the distant woods. Shu Jintian indistinctly guessed something and couldn’t help feeling a little eager.
When they exited the forest, Shu Jintian’s eyes came upon a revealed wide clearing. Before him was a dark-blue ocean, and it was so expansive that the edges could not be seen in a glance. The shoreline distantly joined into a line with the bright-white horizon. The blazing sun illuminated the undulating sea surface and caused it to glitter in specks of light.
Nearby, the sea waves passionately surged up and crashed against the shore, producing the sound of billowing waves. Soon after, it reluctantly crept backwards, just like lovers about to be separated.
“So it’s surprisingly the sea! It really is unexpected!” Shu Jintian sharply inhaled, very shocked.
The roaring dark-blue sea churned up splashes of water, glistening under the scorching sun. The dazzling light made him unable to look straight at it. Shu Jintian used a hand to shade his eyes, and squinted to see the ocean he had loved for a long time.
Ever since he was a child, he had an indescribable yearning for the sea, feeling that the sea was romantic and majestic. Many fairy tale stories occurred in the azure sea, and he had always wanted to personally see it.
When he became a little older, he once came to the beach on his own. He saw foam and also rubbish floating on the ocean surface, and the beach also had various food wrappers and trash humanity had left behind, and he became disillusioned. From then on, he never went to the ocean.
Unexpectedly, the next time he saw the ocean, it became this beautiful. It overthrew his past disappointment, and reignited his love for the sea.
“Like it?” At some unknown time, Shu Hanyu had turned into his human form. From Shu Jintian’s back, he held the female, his arms unconsciously touching and stroking the female.
This was the snake’s habit. Shu Hanyu’s human form was the same as his snake form, loving to wrap around everything. Especially his female; as long as he saw him, he would spontaneously wrap around him.
Shu Jintian finally came back to himself when he was tightly embraced by Shu Hanyu. The big snake hadn’t clingily wrapped around him for a very long time, which made him somewhat forget the other’s strange obsessiveness for him.
Shu Jintian twisted his body, pretending to want to walk closer to the seashore.
“I like it. This is very clean, and looks as different as night and day compared to the sea I’ve seen before.”
“It’s good if you like it. Let’s go down and swim ba. This is a very big place, so we can swim freely.”
Shu Hanyu liked swimming in the ocean very much, and would spend the most part of his year here.
When he met the female in the mountain forest, he had returned from the seashore not long ago. His encounter with the female was also a rare fate.
“Alright ah. I’m about to die from the heat. Let’s go cool off.” Shu Jintian swiftly took off his long pants, and he hadn’t worn his shirt in the first place. As such, he was immediately left with just a black underwear, and took off with pattering steps into the sea.
The seawater was warm due to the sun, and wasn’t very cold when he entered. It felt very comfortable to soak in.
Shu Hanyu dove into the ocean after the female with a smile on his face. He cheerfully swam several rounds around the female before wrapping himself around the female’s naked body.
With his body suddenly hugged—at the sea, even—Shu Jintian was first very shocked. When he turned to look, it was precisely Shu Hanyu.
In the water, Shu Hanyu was looking at him with an upturned face, smiling very gently.
Through the rippling water, Shu Hanyu’s delicate and fair face was affected by the rocking waves, and he truly was so beautiful that it was a little illusory. For some reason, Shu Jintian thought of a mermaid story.
Shu Hanyu was a little dissatisfied with the water level that was too low. He held the female’s body and swam towards the deeper area.
Shu Jintian swam as he allowed Shu Hanyu to lead, enjoying the cozy feeling of water streaming past his body. It wasn’t until he suddenly noticed the shore diminishing in size that he discovered that they were already too far from the beach.
“Hurry up and stop! We swam too far. It’s too dangerous!” Shu Jintian jumped in fright and kicked a little, using a hand to push Shu Hanyu’s energetically swimming body.
Shu Hanyu felt that it was good enough and so decided to obediently stop, hugging the female and touching him.
Shu Jintian was a little afraid of being in the deeper regions of the sea and couldn’t help feeling a little nervous.
“Let’s swim back a little ba. It’s really too deep here.” The place they came from had already become tiny. The unimaginably gigantic trees had also turned short and small and indistinctly blended into a layer of green, surrounding the shoreline.
Shu Hanyu’s head emerged from the water and rubbed against his shoulder. “No, the sea is very comfortable. If Tiantian is scared, you can hug me.”
Shu Hanyu touched Shu Jintian’s dripping wet hair and lowered his forehead to meet Shu Jintian’s, appearing very intimate.
Shu Jintian knew how to swim but was still a little fearful of the expansive, dangerous sea. His entire body was wrapped up in water, and who knew if there would be something dangerous popping up.
“No, I want to go back.” Shu Jintian spoke decisively, his tone a little pressing.
Shu Hanyu’s brows furrowed and he tightly reined in the female’s slight form, face turning cold.
“No.”
Shu Jintian was very uneasy. He pushed Shu Hanyu away and was about to swim towards the shore.
Shu Hanyu’s face thoroughly darkened and he swiftly took hold of the female’s arm, tightly clamping down.
“I said no!”
Shu Jintian was startled, subdued by Shu Hanyu’s suddenly cold voice. He had been too scared just now and forgot that Shu Hanyu was an even more dangerous existence.
His body was fiercely pulled back. Shu Jintian raised his gaze and saw Shu Hanyu’s gloomy expression, and had a foreboding feeling. Just as he wanted to speak up to remedy the situation, he was suddenly pulled into the water.
“Wu~”
Shu Jintian was caught off guard and spat out a stream of bubbles in the water.
Shu Hanyu took the female and swam downwards, forcefully bringing him into his world. There were a lot of beautiful sights at the seabed that the female had never seen before, so he would definitely like it.

As a translator who reads as I translate, this is the first novel I’ve picked up with absolutely zero clue about the story or how it goes, since I started through Cheonsa’s recommendation. I’ve got a few thoughts about this story, but I’ll just leave it as a ‘click to see more’ so I won’t flood the chapter.
