A life with the Author

Aftermath

[3rd POV]

In the locker room of Korea, there was silence and darkness. The atmosphere of the room was gloomy and tragic, as if someone just died in there.

The room felt so very empty yet it was occupied by a beautiful young man who sat almost lifelessly on the floor while his back was leaning against the wall.

"Yes, Father." His monotonous voice rang out in the empty room. His eyes were as lifeless as his voice.

"I apologize. It will not happen again." The young man spoke to the phone. There was blood ozzing from his mouth.

"Yes, next time I will make you proud." he whispered and the phone was cut off.

He stayed still and silent before his hand dropped on his side.

"*sigh*' He breathe a sigh of helplessness as he looked forward.

His eyes did not blink yet it also did not see anything infront. It was unfocused and hazy.

The only thing in his mind was the previous match he just fought. The fight replayed again and again in his mind and his fist clenched harder and harder until it was all white.

Purple eyes.

That was the image that was etched in his mind forever. It was so vivid that he could recall the emotions he felt at that moment.

Anger. Helplessness. Trauma. Despair. And most of all.

His Own Weakness.

"Fuck." Yeonwoo cursed for the first time in his life. He clutched his face as he tried to push those thoughts away.

He had never felt so weak and defeated before. He felt like every moment he had spent training himself to become stronger was a waste.

At the beginning of the fight, he thought he would win. He thought his opponent was weaker than him.

But everything changed when his opponent got up from 'that' punch.

His opponent's eyes shined and it was like he was fighting a different person. A different beast.

Nothing was the same again and he was faced with what he considered now as his greatest faliure.

It was not even a fight anymore.

"Hehehehe." He laughed at himself but he had to stop when he felt the pain in his body.

He had trained his body to the limit. He thought pain would no longer bother him. But he was so wrong.

He took off his Karate gi and looked at his body.

His body was purple in different places and it hurts just from breathing too heavily. He gently touched it and the pain which shot up when he did reminded him of his own weakness.

While he was checking out his body his phone rang. He paused for some time before picking up the call and putting the phone to his ear.

"Hello." He said.

{Yo!! I heard you were beaten pretty badly!! Hahaha and by a Japanese too.} the voice came from the phone.

Yeonwoo knew who it was immediately.

"Yeah." He said curtly.

They talked about different things for a while and Yeonwoo was glad he could get his mind off the fight.

Then suddenly, the caller asked in a joking tone, {Say, how strong is he? Could he stand a chance against me?}

Yeonwoo thought for a moment before answering immediately, "He won't."

{Yeah, obviously.} the caller said.

{Well, come back soon} then the call was ended.

Yeeonwoo took his phone away from his ear and decided to play with his phone to distract his mind.

Then he decided to check on his previous opponent. After doing research for some time he came upon two choking discovery.

"Yuito Fujita, not only master of Karate but national number : 1 in boxing, wrestling and.." he read on for some time before he saw another article.

"Yuito Fujita in an accident? Back, shoulder and arm injury.." He read it and noticed that the news was only two weeks ago.

"hehehehHeHeHeHaHaHaHaHAHAHAHA." Yeonwoo laughed. It started low but he couldn't help it from turning boisterous. He did not even feel his injury anymore because the situation was too funny for him.

He clutched his stomach.

"How does this weak island give birth to someone like that." he asked himself.

How dangerous.

Yeonwoo stopped his episode and the locker room became silent again.

His mind played back to the previous fight again.

He remembered those punches.

Those kicks.

Those movements.

..

..

..

..

Those eyes.

In the front row seat of the stadium, two muscular and short middle aged men sat together. They were both bald and if people were to see them they would have trouble differentiating them.

They were both clapping their hands as they had just watched the final match and it was one of the greatest karate fight for both of them.

The bigger one of the two looked around the stadium and immediately took note of the people's reaction to the fight.

"Isn't he awesome Joe?" He asked his friend.

"They were both really good but the purple one was just insane." Joe said.

"Did you see how his whole demeanor changed after that foul play? That was one of the craziest thing ever." Joe finished.

The guy asked Joe again, "So I heard he is not only good at Karate but also in other martial arts."

"Seriously Dana?" Joe asked, a little surprised.

"Yeah." Dana nodded.

Then he looked at the crowd again. He took note of how Yuito's handsome appearance quickly stole the hearts of the girls.

He instantly knew that was a very good way for a fighter to get popular. This could bring in new female UFC fans as the majority of viewers are males.

Then he also looked at the Japanese people who were screaming non stop due to happiness. Some of them were even crying as this was the first time in decades that Japan got number 1 spot in karate globally. Karate which originated from Japan, they were the best at it again.

He took note of that, quickly analyzing how this could produce loyal fans from the whole country. And no UFC fighter existed from Japan currently.

Dana's mind ran with all this and how this could be a great background for a famous fighter.

An underdog hailing a country considered weak. Loyal fans and support from the country the fighter represent and how the fighter's exceptional charm could bring love from the girls and hate from the boys.

His mind was working non stop. Thinking about great possibilities but most of all..

Money.

"Hey, I think the boy has great potential." Dana told Joe.

Joe looked surprised before realizing where Dana was going with this, "Isn't he too young?" he asked.

Dana thought about that for a while before his mind quickly realize the potential of this as well.

A young and talented fighter, a prodigy who came from the underrated country. Surprising the world and changing history.

More money.

"That is not a problem. Remember the kid in Korea? Munseoung Kim? We signed with him when he was 17." Dana said.

[Meunseoung Kim IMG : Viral HIt.]

"Okay if you say so, you are the boss." Joe shrugged.

" I want you to contact him." Dana told Joe seriously while patting his back.

"Huh? Why me?"

"Obviously I am not the one with black belt in Karate. Also he need to get some MMA matches under his bealt first." Dana said while looking at Yuito again.

"What's so great about the kid anyway for you to be this desperate?" Joe asked curiously.

"Trust me. Kid's got insane potential." Dana said.

"And even if I am wrong, he could at least lay a couple golden eggs." Dana added.

"Still couldn't beat a bear though." Joe also said and they both laughed at his joke.
