A Failure's hopeful Journey

The tiger charged at You Xi Wang, while the latter block the beast by pointing the spearhead aimed at its eyes. The tiger was enraged, It's movements grew frantic as it threw all the defense options out of its mind. The tiger's eye shone with red light and it vanished from the place it was standing.

You Xi Wang felt a deadly threat aimed at his neck and he rolled down forward as a sound of air being slashed was heard. The tiger moved quickly behind him and slashed its death claws at You Xi Wang's neck.

You Xi Wang frowned. He understood that this opponent is not as simple as it looks. He spun the spear in his hand and suddenly stabbed upwards.

PUCHI, the spear stabbed in the tiger claw, the beast roared. It was so powerful that You Xi Wang's team got alerted.

Allan first checked on everyone, he did not find You Xi Wang, he turned to Neo, "Where is Xi Wang?"

Neo replied, "I don't know, he said he sensed something and left in that direction." he pointed to the direction where the roar came from.

Yuki looked at Allan, Fenny, and Neo, "I am going." with that she left to look for her beloved.

Fenny followed with no words and the boys shared a glance and followed while Allan said, "Did they think I will not go?"

Neo chuckled and said, "You ask too many questions, nothing else."

"Is that a bad thing?" questioned Allan, "Other than making you a big brother? Nothing bad." Neo replied.

Allan shook his head as he followed the rest.

Meanwhile, You Xi Wang was facing a berserk blood bane tiger with his spear. The beast tried many times but just got stabbed or slashed by the spearhead. It backed off and growled at You Xi Wang. The blood flowing out of its wounds became a red mist that enshrouded everything around them, it was like a cloud of blood covering the beast and the human, this cloud was fifty meters in diameter.

You Xi Wang found himself unable to see anything. He felt his senses dampen because of the mist. He asked the system, 'I guess we need to get serious here.'

[Don't worry master, just focus on feeling the soul energy around you, that way you can locate the tiger.] system stated.

You Xi Wang closed his eyes and focused on the soul energy around him. He took in a deep breath, and he sensed a malicious glare pointed at his back. He swiped his spear horizontally in a circle and the tiger backed off.

Yuki saw the mist, she stopped, sensing around she discovered You Xi Wang battling with a beast inside the mist. Others also arrived but stooped, Neo looked at the mist, he chuckled as he said, "Blood mist of Blood Bane Tiger. I can dispel it."

Allan nodded while the latter roared his roar disrupted the mist and slowly it cleared away.

You Xi Wang realized that his team has arrived, but he kept swinging his spear and defense against the beast, after continuous slashing, he surprised the beast who could not land a single scratch on his prey, a weak human.

Suddenly the beast heard a roar, it looked around, as if any other beast snatched its prey, more to his surprise the blood mist dispersed and he saw four humans looking at it with no fear.

Yuki called out for You Xi Wang, "Get this done already, you will only have two hours to sleep if you take any longer."

Fenny said, "Oye, baby Wang, get me this kitties fur also, I heard that you did an awesome move at the ascension duel, show us your dance."

Neo and Allan also chimed in, asking him to show them his moves. In the past, he used to be the weakest of the group, that is why they wanted to see his improvement. You Xi Wang shook his head. He turned his gaze at the beast and said, "You are a beast yet I can not accept the way you tried to harm a mother by using her weak children as an excuse. It is time to put you down."

You Xi Wang lifted his spear, held it parallel to the ground, and he advanced toward the beast, just as the beast would try to defend he swung his body in a way as if he was a spin-top. The sudden change in trajectory resulted in the beast getting slashed.

This carried on for a bit but You Xi Wang did not use his spear intent. His movements started getting faster and sharper as the attack progressed, Neo Paul stood up suddenly, he was a spear user, this move shocked the hell out of him as he could never imagine using the spear with such flexibility.

You Xi Wang unconsciously used lightning spiritual energy and lightning snakes covered his body and spear, these snakes moved and formed a dragon behind him, the dragon moved just as the spear tip, the sight was mesmerizing, Fenny was shocked as she said, "Hey, didn't he use wind element in his duel? Why is it lightning now?"

Her questions attracted the team's attention, but they ignored the question and just kept watching as You Xi Wang danced and wounded the beast. The onslaught stopped after a bit and the beast was covered in wounds, but it was still defiant to give up. You Xi Wang said, "You have my respect as you are strong, but despite all that, you are wrong."

You Xi Wang put his spear parallel to the ground once more, the lightning dragon behind him shone as it resonated with the intent of its wielder.

"Piercing dragon" a cried was heard from You Xi Wang's mouth and the dragon flashed, next second the spear was already stabbed through the tiger's heart and the lightning dragon coiled the tiger, sending shocks in its body and killing it thoroughly.

The dead beast fell down with dim eyes, You Xi Wang retracted his spear and felt a soft body in his embrace. He knew it was Yuki who hugged him. He hugged her waist and turned around to see the others.

"Sorry for making you all worry, but this tiger wanted to hunt the weak night hound and its cubs. I could not watch her die and acted without telling you all."

They chatted a bit while Neo collected the tiger beast meat for the group's ration supplies and fur for Fenny. The group suddenly stooped talking and sprang up in a formation. The Night Hound was looking at them from five meters away, they did not notice her until she stepped on a twig and snapped it, which was obviously intentional. She looked at the beast meat neo was putting in the bag.

You Xi Wang took half the meat and walked towards the wolf while others went on full alert in case the wolf made a move. You Xi Wang knelt in front of the wolf and put the meat down on the ground as he said, "Sorry, this was only a spirit formation beast, it's core got destroyed in my attack."

The wolf looked at the human in front of her and moved slightly close to him. She purred and sat down suddenly, You Xi Wang guessed something bad happened and scanned its whole body with his soul sense. While he was about to say something a voice sounded in his brain.

"Human warrior, I am Lila, as you know I am a Night Hound, but I lost my realm when I gave birth to my cubs. They are offsprings of mine and snow shadow wolf. Their father is dead, now I am also about to leave them alone. During the battle, my beast core also broke because of the strain. I ask you to look after my cubs and make them strong. I have instructed them, although young they are very intelligent and will not be a burden on you. Please help me take care of them." it was the night hound who delivered a message to his mind space, just as You Xi Wang was about to reply the wolf sat her head down on the ground, and the glow in its eyes faded, the cubs sensed the departure of their mother and rushed to her body as they made weeping sounds.

You Xi Wang glanced at the cubs and shook his head, the team was also witnessed all this, Fenny asked with a deep voice, "Wang, did the wolf pass away?"

He nodded and moved his hand to pat a cub near him, "She asked me to look after them."

The team understood and Yuki also moved to pat a cub but the cubs growled at her and moved closer to You Xi Wang who said, "Don't worry, none of them will harm you. You are now our family and team members."
