Chapter 22 - Mr. Han’s Sad Little Star II
Later in the evening, Han Zhuo and Bai Xi also rushed to the hospital. Liu Chunchun had already undergone all the examinations. Except for some sprains in his waist, there were no major injuries and he did not need to be hospitalized.
“Brother Bai!” He hugged Bai Xi stiffly and aggrievedly, and flattened his mouth. “You don’t know, that pervert can breathe fire.”
“Really?” Bai Xi was shocked. He looked at Liu Chunchun’s face carefully. “Where did he spray it? Did it burn you?”
Huh? Liu Chunchun was a little confused: “I’m just making a metaphor. How could someone really breathe fire? Brother Bai, are you okay?”
Bai Xi: “…”
“Ahem!” Wang Yuanchen coughed beside them.
Bai Xi looked at him in confusion—had the intruder not been discovered yet?
Wang Yuanchen was also impressed. He suspected there was probably a group of alpacas living in this person’s head, and they would come out from time to time to cause trouble, making him look so stupid at any time.
“Tell me everything that happened,” Bai Xi ordered.
Liu Chunchun immediately narrated it fluently, including every word of Shi Tian’s, word for word.
After hearing the whole story, Bai Xi felt a little confused. In fact, Liu Chunchun also had the same doubts. What did “refuse to go home with me” mean?
Wang Yuanchen tugged on his tie irritably and took out a pack of cigarettes from his trouser pocket.
“Wait,” Liu Chunchun reminded him, “this is a hospital.”
So, the cigarette box was put back.
There was an eerie silence in the ward again until Han Zhuo completed the formalities and drove them back—not to the high-rise apartment, but to a community behind the bar on Qiye Road.
After watching the two people disappear, Bai Xi asked, “Shi Tian—”
“They used to be a family,” Han Zhuo interrupted him. “That’s why I said before that he didn’t like his real name, especially his own last name.”
Wang Yuanchen was adopted by Shi Tian’s father when he had no memory and grew up in the Shi family. Although he had good material conditions growing up, he did not feel much warmth from his relatives. It was a harmonious and loving family on the surface, but secretly they had their own evil intentions. By the time he was ten years old, the brutal killings in the underground warehouse, Shi Tian’s father’s bloody plan, and Shi Tian’s obscene and greasy thoughts and the filthiness of everything finally began to become more and more obvious. Wang Yuanchen also chose to leave at that time and hid in Daisy’s bar incognito.
And when he reappeared, he was already a bartender. He was beautiful yet cruel, powerful yet violent. He was the object of almost all supernatural beings’ desire to date, and he was also the dream lover of all guests.
“So that’s it,” Bai Xi said. “It’s surprising.”
“I want to apologize to you first,” Han Zhuo turned his face toward him, his attitude very serious. “I promised before that your friend would not be in any danger.”
Bai Xi said, “Yeah.”
“I really didn’t expect that Shi Tian would attack Chunchun. I originally thought he was… not qualified. Anyway, I’m sorry.”
“Will it happen again?” Bai Xi asked. “I’m not angry, and I don’t blame you, but I’m really guilty and worried.”
“I know.” Han Zhuo raised his hand and promised, “I will definitely solve the problem of the underground warehouse as soon as possible. Draw their attention to me and keep the danger away from your friends.”
“What do you mean by drawing attention to you?” Bai Xi’s eyes widened when he heard this. “Chunchun can’t get hurt, and nothing can happen to you too. If it doesn’t work, go abroad first. No matter what, you are not allowed to take risks, remember?”
Han Zhuo nodded. “Remember.” His answers were always very standard and casual, but sometimes it was not good to be too casual, because it looked insincere. There was no credibility whatsoever.
Bai Xi shook his head inwardly but said nothing. He fastened his seat belt and said, “Let’s go home.”
Han Zhuo started the car and asked, “Are you angry with me?”
Bai Xi said, “No.” After a pause, he added, “I don’t want little stars today.”
Mr. Han’s plan failed, so he had to put his hands back on the steering wheel.
The sports car drove silently towards the highway. After a while, Han Zhuo probed, “Then do you want the little stars tomorrow?”
“No.”
“The day after tomorrow?”
“No.”
“But the little stars are innocent.” Han Zhuo patiently analyzed it for him. “If they can’t see you, they will be very sad and turn into sad little stars.”
Bai Xi: “…”
Han Zhuo flicked a small bright light in front of him, but it turned to be very dim and faded away almost in a few seconds, as frustrated and listless as its owner.
Bai Xi said from the bottom of his heart, “You and your little stars are really troublesome.”
Han Zhuo couldn’t hold it back. “Pfft.”
“Make an appointment for me tomorrow.” Bai Xi leaned back in his chair.
“Appointment? Shouldn’t this kind of thing be left to the secretary?” Han Zhuo asked. “With whom?”
Bai Xi replied, “Your mother.”
Han Zhuo was in a complicated mood. He said, “Alright, I will send the invitation.”
“From three to five o’clock tomorrow afternoon, remember to book a lively restaurant.” Bai Xi closed his eyes and added, “Two people, not including you.”
Mr. Han: “…”
Okay?
