Is an Ambush Planned? (20)
"You looked quite affectionate with that girl when we were saying goodbye…" Ruvan said as they walked back to the inn alongside Lira.
It was evident that both women had felt something much deeper than a simple attraction, naturally Ruvan was quite curious about it. Lira was never an easy woman to connect with other people, although her facade was smiling and friendly, the reality was quite the opposite.
"I must say..."
"I have never seen you like this with any of the girls we have had fun with… Not since.." Ruvan decided to stop just as he was going to continue.
"I know… I haven't felt like this since Elsa," Lira said with a miserable expression on her face as she looked up at the sky in deep thought.
"Hey, I don't like seeing you like this…" Ruvan said with a serious expression as he stopped to hug Lira.
"Smoch" "Smoch" Without caring about the people around him, Ruvan gave the depressed Lira a couple of kisses to improve her mood.
"I really don't know what I would do without you," Lira said with a low voice as she hid her face in Ruvan's chest. The scenes of everything Ruvan had done for her came back to her mind.
'Just when I thought everything was darkness, you appeared to give color to my life' Lira thought as she hugged Ruvan's muscular body, which made her feel warm.
Elsa had been a lover that Lira had had several years ago. It could be said that they had formed a fairly stable relationship, reaching the point of having their own house for both of them. However, due to bad luck, while Lira was on a mission, a group of thieves broke into Lira's house to rob her.
Elsa was not a cultivator and could do little against the evil individuals who had their way with her before finally killing her in a cruel and merciless act. Lira fell deeply into despair after the death of her lover.
It was thanks to Ruvan that she was able to overcome the trauma and finally move on. Ruvan had helped her track down the bandits, finally ending their lives in an extremely cruel way. No doubt the bandits regretted all their past actions as they suffered cruel and merciless torture at the hands of Ruvan and Lira.
"Hey, why don't you ask her out? I mean, we still have tonight until we leave" Ruvan said with a smile as he wiped away the small tears that had formed in Lira's pretty eyes.
"Mmm, that's not a bad idea," Lira said after thinking about it a little.
"If things go well we can even return after we finish our affairs in the Yellow City" Ruvan said with a comforting smile.
"Thank you Ruvan" Lira thanked sincerely. Ruvan was surprised that she had called him by his name but he quickly smiled.
The two of them continued joking around for a while until they finally talked about serious matters.
"By the way. Did you receive any letters from Jonah?" Ruvan asked shortly with a serious expression.
"Yes, captain. Jonah sent us to tell us that everything is calm in the capital… The only thing he urgently requested was the arrival of more wine… It seems that the reserves we had in the winery were gone" Lira said with an ironic smile.
"Shit… That old bastard seems like a bottomless hole when it comes to wine…" Ruvan cursed as he remembered the face of friend who was in charge of the security of his residence.
"By the way, regarding the ambush…"
"Has it been confirmed yet?" Ruvan asked curiously.
"That's right captain... One of our men also seemed to detect strange movements in the men of Captain Wiltord's battalion" Lira said with a serious look.
"Excellent. That idiot Wiltord is not even good enough to hide his intentions" Ruvan mocked as they walked.
Ruvan knew that Wiltord coveted the gains his group made during the conquest of the Three Swords Sect. It was evident that he was planning to assault their group so naturally Ruvan had to make his preparations.
"Our infiltrator confirmed the details of the ambush"
"It seems that he even managed to convince a group of wandering cultivators to join his plan" Lira said.
"Mmm it's not as stupid as I thought. At least he knows that if he just tried it with his squad he would be finished" Ruvan said with a smile as they entered the inn.
"Is the captain planning to go out this night?" Lira asked curiously before Ruvan entered his room.
"Forget it… My waist still hurts from last night… I even feel like my two jewels are about to turn into dust if I release one more load" Ruvan joked with a smile before entering his room.
Upon entering his room, Ruvan realized that his bathroom tub was completely ready, filled with aromatic incense and aromatic spiritual herbs. It was evident that it had been prepared in advance of his arrival.
"M-Master Ruvan! Welcome!" Greeted a boy with an indefinite appearance.
"Hello Xin"
"It's great that you prepared the bathtub" Ruvan said with a smile as he began to take off his clothes to get into the bathtub. He had sweated like never before the night before so he needed a bath to cool off before going to sleep.
"Was everything in order last night?" Ruvan asked casually as he pulled down his pants making the Xin completely flustered.
"Yes Master Ruvan" Xin replied with an embarrassed voice as he tried to cover his eyes however a small opening was still available between his fingers.
"That's good… You can go back to your room and rest," Ruvan said indifferently as he got deep into the bathtub.
"Yes, Master Ruvan" Xin said as he ran out of the room embarrassed.
Remembering the size of his master's tool, he couldn't help but look down at his nether region while shaking his small head.
"Ahhh~ Just what I needed" Ruvan said as he closed his eyes.
'I have never seen Master Ruvan come back so tired after spending the night outside' Xin thought before leaving the room.

In a room inside an inn near where Ruvan and his group were staying, a discussion was taking place between a group of cultivators.
"Are you sure that brat has that many spiritual sones?" A ruffian-looking middle-aged cultivator asked.
"I'm sure after all he was the one who looted the treasure of the Three Sword Sect," Wiltord said seriously.
"And aren't you supposed to be a member of their group? Why should we believe you?" An unpleasant looking woman questioned.
"Because I hate that bastard…But more importantly… Because there is money involved," Wiltord said with a sinister smile.
The cultivators in the room remembering that they were dealing with a mercenary smiled as they agreed to participate in the ambush.
At the end of the night all the wandering cultivators came out with satisfied expressions after having heard Wiltord's plans, after all it would be an extremely lucrative mission if everything went as planned.
