Yandere Ojou-sama!

Chapter 15- Vice-president!

“Student ID.”

As the security in charge asked for my identity card, I extended the small blue rectangular digital card that Minami-san handed me last night. The digital identity card is the pass I would need to enter the school and utilize the services the academy provides. Like borrowing books, canteen and other stuff.

There is a thorough security check at the entrance of the school and regardless of one’s identity, every student has to go through security in order to enter the premise.

Fortunately, they didn’t ask about the content inside my bag since it would have become problematic to explain the emergency supplies and helpline equipment Minami-san gave me. Or maybe the guards have been informed about me beforehand that was why other than giving me narrow glances they didn’t say anything and let me pass in.

‘Phew…it was nerve-racking for some reason…’

Walking inside, the first thing that greeted me was a massive building standing tall and high opposite the entrance. There was a block on the left and right as well with a huge garden in between the three buildings. There are two other buildings for the auditorium and gym behind the main building.

My eyes were glued to the five floored red painted castle academic block which despite being plain seemed extremely majestic. I sighed at the view and realized how internet pictures don’t justify one’s true beauty.

I had no time to keep on staring at the beautiful scenery in front as I walked toward the building on my left where the office of the school was located.
There were a lot of students wandering around while chatting in a calm and mannered way which surprised me genuinely since the high school I come from has made my mind accustomed to something more chaotic. But well, either one has its own charm.

Walking inside the block I was greeted with constant keyboard clicks and some low chattering voices. There were some parents of the students chatting with school staff and rests were working restlessly on their system. I spotted the new admission section of the office and fastened my pace. Due to the cycle ride in the morning, I was kind of running late already.

“Umm…excuse me. Can you...”

Fortunately, it didn’t take much time for the lady to input my card with the details I required. From what I saw on my digital identity card I was placed in section 3-E which was on the third floor in the academic block.

I thanked the lady and walked hurriedly to the main building. In exchange for my shoes, I got extra comfortable single-time usable footwear. It seemed students get one new one every day which to my knowledge a little bit exaggerated but well. Not like I am going to put a complaint about it.

Since all the classes were about to start, the corridors were empty. I climbed the third floor without bothering about the interiors. Upon landing at my destination, I unexpectedly was greeted by a small green-haired girl who was staring at me like she was waiting for my arrival. And her following words confirmed my hunch.

“Haruto-kun right?” I nodded absentmindedly before the girl turned to the left and started walking only after she gave me the command.

“Follow me. I will guide you to your classroom. I would have picked you up from the main entrance but it seemed you are off-schedule.”

I embarrassedly scratched the back of my hand as I followed the little girl who unlike me had a more vibrant green color pattern in her uniform, signifying that she was a year junior than me.

“Sorry about that and thank you for your assistance….uh, you know my section?”

“Being the vice student council president I have the duty to maintain every student's details for several purposes.”

Her crisp blunt tone responded in a manner like she was expecting me to ask such a question.

But even so, realizing that the girl some steps ahead of me was vice president made me aware of how well-suited sometimes people are given their role for. I mean, I could never be that strict whichever post I get delegated with, and more so now when my job requires me to stay as humble as I can in whichever situation.

“Here we are. Please give me your Student ID.”

Our steps came to a halt in front of one of the doors which from the outer surface seemed a normal door if taken out the digital panel fixated in place of a doorknob. I wordlessly nodded and took my card before handing it to the girl.

She walked forward and placed it above the glass panel before a green ray scanned it three times.

“Register your biometrics.”

As the girl turned I tilted my head to the left in unawareness. Sighing she lifted her left hand and gestured to her left thumb then pointed at the small glass inclined bracket.

I understood in an instant as a small, “Ooh…” leaked my lips before I stepped forward and did as the girl asked. It didn’t take long for the system to register my information and thumb impression before the door slid open.

“Thank…”

I was about to thank the girl but before I could turn she was already walking away. Glancing down I found my identity card resting in my upper pocket already which told me how busy she was. And I couldn’t blame her since it was my fault, to begin with.

‘Well, let’s do this…’

Taking a big inhale I walked inside the classroom and without pause went to the podium where the student's sitting arrangements were detailed. Thanks to the office lady who told me where I could find my seat.

The list wasn’t long and I was able to find my seat rather readily. Maybe it was desperate prays or something that I got the seat at the backmost row of the second column.

I knew the silence in the class meant everyone was already seated and staring at me but if I glance at them back, it would only increase my anxiety so I held back and walked with an upright posture to my designated seat.

I casually glanced to my left and strangely no one was actually looking at me but rather in the direction of the classroom entrance. A slight frown wrinkled on my forehead as I noticed that most of the students were glancing at the door like they were waiting for someone.

I first thought that being diligent students they might be eagerly waiting for the homeroom teacher to arrive but as soon I placed my bag on my seat and was about to sit, I saw the door slide open once again, and I realized the reason behind this strange atmosphere in the class.

‘Really…I couldn’t have expected less….’

It was Akira who walked in.
