Chapter 39: The Great Spectator (1)
A while ago when the giant ball of fire was landing on the village barrier...
"What the hell..."
Bantay who was watching the whole situation found himself already drowned in disbelief.
He was already surprised enough when he learned that there were still a lot of extraordinary hunters hiding in the village.
So when he saw them fighting the Semi-Demons outside, Bantay really was astonished. Especially when he realized that there were a lot of them that could match his current strength in a one-on-one battle.
But what made his body jolted in horror was when he saw the giant ball of fire disappeared from the thin air only to appear just above the village.
He knew that there was a barrier protecting the village but the uneasiness in his heart only grew as the giant ball of fire was approaching, especially when he knew that his master was sleeping peacefully.
Bantay really was wondering how did his master manage to sleep in this kind of situation.
Even Sheiyn who had just managed to recover from the earlier shock a little while ago, found her body stunned in yet another shock when she walked beside the window to see what was happening outside.
Just what in the world is happening in this place?
Am I going to die just like this?
Sheiyn felt light-headed as she couldn't help but lose her balance and fell on the floor once again.
Bantay who saw Sheiyn being like that rushed into her again as he asked, "Are you ok?"
"Y-yeah. I just really need to rest a little more." Sheiyn replied as she tried to stand up only to find that she had no more strength to do so.
Knowing that the other party had suffered another mental damage, Bantay enveloped the other party with his World Energy to carry her up and bring her to the sofa again.
"Are we going to die here?" Sheiyn who was now lying weakly on the sofa asked. Her face was pale and cold sweats were dripping down from her forehead.
Even though she was a C-rank hunter, the sight outside really was mind-blowing. A couple of S-rank and A-rank Hunters and Semi-Demons were brawling all around and the aura they all release at the same time really was suppressive. What was more was that a giant ball of fire was coming towards their direction!
It was so huge that there was no doubt that it could occupy almost the fifth of the entire village that had a kilometer radius. If it managed to land in the village, there was no doubt that a huge explosion would occur and most part of the village would be covered in fire.
"No, there was a barrier in this village so don't worry." Seeing that the other party was about to lose her hope, Bantay assured their safety.
"That's good to hear." Sheiyn let out a sigh of relief as a beautiful smile blossomed on her lips.
Kaboooooom!!!
Just as the two were talking with each other, the giant ball of fire finally crashed down to the village barrier as a loud boom echoed in the entire village.
The ground vibrated and people around covered their ears from the deafening sound as Bantay and Sheiyn were without exception.
"That's crazy." Bantay muttered to himself. It felt as if his heart wanted to jump out from his chest!
He really wondered if he could survive that attack if he was hit by it directly.
He really was thankful as well that there was a barrier around.
He put his gaze to the young girl and found her hands still covering her ears as her eyes were tightly closed. Knowing that there was no serious problem with the other party, Bantay instinctively shifted his gaze to the other sofa where his master was sleeping but to his disbelief, the other party was still in deep sleep. As if it didn't concern him what was happening around.
"Master..."
This time, Bantay was starting to worry about the other party. He came closer to him and found the other party perfectly fine.
"Master! Master!" Bantay tried to wake him up but there was no use to it. "Is master really is a heavy sleeper?"
Despite all his effort to wake his master, he failed in all of his attempts. He was even thinking to smack his master to the floor but he gave up that thought.
He was his master after all. He at least needed to put some boundary to how far he could go.
Just as Bantay had given up waking his master, he shifted back his gaze to the young girl before him and found her recovering from the shock.
Getting up in difficulty, Sheiyn sat down on the sofa as she asked, "What's happening to him?"
"There's nothing in particular. It's just that master is a heavy sleeper." Bantay replied, trying to chase away his worry.
"Really?" Sheiyn asked doubtfully. She tried to stand up and walked closer to Jim to check the other party as she spoke, "Let me see."
"What are you going to do?" Seeing the other party, Bantay really was bewildered.
Instead of answering the beast before her, Sheiyn put her slender hand to Jim's wrist. She then closed her eyes and focused on the other party but to her disbelief, she found something that she would never dare to believe in her life!
She took a step backward in yet another shock and let go of the other party's wrist.
Seeing the reaction of the young girl before him, Bantay asked worriedly, "What happened? What did you see?"
"He is not sleeping." Sheiyn answered. Still couldn't believe what she just learned.
"Master is not sleeping?" Bantay instinctively shifted his gaze to his master as realization dawned upon him, "Don't tell me..."
"Yeah. His consciousness is wandering somewhere. He probably has used a skill." Sheiyn muttered as she swallowed her dry saliva and continued, "But it is the skill that only a high-level Summoner or Beast Tamer will be able to do.
"But this kid actually..." Sheiyn stared at Jim as if she was looking into a monster. She wanted to tell many things but there were no more words that wanted to come out from her mouth.
****
Across the battlefield, many blood-red sparrows were flying all around as if an eagle looking for its prey.
It went without saying, Jim's consciousness was wandering with his Blood Minions!
His consciousness was frenziedly shifting from all the Blood Minions that were scouting the area, afraid that he would miss a good scene.
His Blood Minions caught sight of all of the battles that were transpiring in the different areas and Jim cursed himself for having only one consciousness.
He needed to move his consciousness from one of his Blood Minions to the other Blood Minions that were spectating the other fights if he wanted to spectate what was happening in every area.
Well, he could just wait for his Blood Minions to return to his body so that he could learn everything that each of his Blood Minions had seen but the fight of the high-level hunters was so exciting that Jim wanted to watch them all at the same time.
But sadly for him, he had only one consciousness.
At first, he was still sad that his mother went inside the dungeon alone. And his sadness only grew when Sheiyn was looking for his mother. So he went to the sofa trying to sleep so that he could at least ease his sadness.
He was still indignant as well that he could only stay in their house when all of a sudden, one of his Blood Minions that were strolling around the woods gave him a signal just like before.
Only then he recalled about his Blood Minions that he sent out across the woods. Jim grinned inwardly as he immediately put his consciousness to the Blood Minion that was giving him a signal, curious what was going on.
To his surprise, the Blood Minion was just perching on certain tree tens of meters away from the portal that just appeared a while ago. But what surprised him the most was that a bunch of Semi-Demons was coming out from the portal.
Even though only his consciousness was in the Blood Minion, he could still feel the evil aura exuding out from each of those Semi-Demons, as if they all were ready to cause destruction at any moment.
The Blood Minion then swallowed a mouthful of saliva as it was affected by what its creator felt like.
