Chapter 163: Be Right Back
"Are you crazy?" Zandel followed with Alvin's reaction. "That is not a Magic Beast. It's a magus, one that can think about his moves!"
Linfel didn't seem to care. "Good! Then that means we will have a real challenge. Now, shut up and increase the speed. We are changing direction."
Alvin and Milia did as Linfel told them, forcing Zandel to follow so he wouldn't be left alone. As Linfel mentioned before, they kept changing directions and going in circles. Once in a while, they bumped into some Magus or Familiar, but those ones didn't want to have anything to do with Linfel's group. Now, Linfel repeated the process while the Level Five Magus followed them.
There was a difference this time. Linfel had his group increase their speed to the maximum, which also forced the enemy to give his best. If Linfel and the others stopped for a moment, they would definitely hear the curses coming from the Magus behind.
Finally, another thirty minutes later, Zandel began to lose performance. He was still far from having a good physical body or Magic Control. Fortunately for him, Linfel was waiting for that moment. "Alright, on the count of three, everyone stops. I was thinking about charging at our enemy, but it will be better if we pretend we are too tired to continue to flee. One, two, three!"
Alvin and the others immediately stopped. It wasn't hard to pretend to be tired since they had been running forever. Even if Alvin, Milia, and Nori were still full of Magic Energy, they were still sweating quite a lot, let alone Zandel. In his case, he was already using Kefin's Magic Energy since his own was pretty much gone.
With their stop, the Level Five Magus caught to them in no time. Just like Linfel's group, he also was sweating buckets, and his expression was as dark as one could imagine. "Finally... *gasp* you gave up, uh? *gasp!*"
Alvin turned to him as Linfel was now sitting on his shoulder. "Who are you? Why do you keep following us? We did nothing to you!"
The guy couldn't care less. "I'm Zuzei. Now, shut up and hand over your cards. You better be happy that killing others would make me a Killer. Otherwise, I would take your lives right here and right now."
Well, it was true that killing someone would make Zuzei a killer. However, the guy had no intention of simply taking the cards anymore. He would also break a few bones and take a few limbs. That was his plan. Of course, he wouldn't tell Linfel and the others about it. But first, he had to take the cards.
Alvin showed a relieved expression and nodded. "So, will you let us go if we give you our cards?"
"Yeah, yeah! Fast before I change my mind!" Zuzei approached, now breathing a little bit better. Yet, his Magic Energy was already circulating in his body, ready to attack.

Alvin looked at Milia and Zandel, and they quickly gathered their Silver Cards. Seeing that surprised the Magus quite a bit. He was expecting Bronze Cards to come out, definitely not Silver Cards. In his mind, he felt like he hit the jackpot. It was definitely worth all the effort he put into pursuing Linfel's group.
As Zuzei approached Alvin, he glanced at Zandel all the time. He could tell that Zandel was the only Level Four member of this group. Although Zuzei was at Level Five, he didn't want to underestimate Zandel just because of a single level. If Zandel managed to land a hit on him with his full power, even Zuzei might get seriously injured.
Alvin extended his arm, the cards in his hand. He seemed to be trembling, afraid of what could happen. Well, the trembling wasn't pretension. Alvin was truly nervous due to the difference in Level. Milia was by his side, holding Nori in his sword form. They were in their Magus Familiar connection. Zandel and Kefin too.
Zuzei didn't complain about those two since they were being careful. Nonetheless, once he got the cards, he could definitely beat them.
Finally, Zuzei extended his hand to grab the Silver Cards. However, his right hand suddenly moved like lightning. He, too, was connected to his Familiar, which had the form of a belt. Their Magic Energy acted together, Fire Element gathered on his hand, and he tried to destroy Alvin's arm as he took the cards for himself.
*Bang!*
However, Zuzei's plan didn't work as he expected. Out of nowhere, a shield appeared right where Zuzei was about to strike Alvin's Arm, completely absorbing the shock as Fire Element spread around.
*Kabrum!*
He didn't have time to think about the shield, though. The moment his right hand hit the shield, a lightning bolt shot from Linfel on Alvin's shoulder, aiming at Zuzei's left hand instead. His second hand was trying to catch Alvin's cards once his right one cut Alvin's arm away. Now, it was unprotected, and Linfel hit him at point-blank distance.
*Arrrrghhhh!*
An arm flew out, disconnected from its body, as the smell of burnt flesh spread in the air. Zuzei lost his arm even faster than he could think. He immediately jumped back, using all his Magic Energy to open some distance from Alvin and Linfel.
Yet, that was the signal for Zandel, Milia, Nori, and Kefin to act. They attacked Zuzei from behind before he could recompose himself. Alvin also followed from the front... although Linfel was nowhere to be seen.
"Alright, I got one of his arms. Now, the three of you need to work together to take him down," Linfel spoke from further behind. "Just be careful to not kill him. Oh, and don't forget to take his Cards. The way he reacted when he saw our own cards is proof that he wants the cards for himself instead of selling to anyone."
Alvin's Earth First appeared again, and he attacked Zuzei from the front. His Magic Energy output surpassed what a Level Three Magus should be able to, making it impossible for Zuzei to ignore him.
*Bang!*
Zuzui used his only arm to block Alvin and his superior Magic Energy reserves to force Alvin back. Yet, that gave Zandel and Milia time to strike from behind. Of course, Zuzei was still a Level Five Magus, and he was connected with his Familiar, which was also at Level Five. Magic Energy immediately built on his back, creating a barrier to block the attacks.
Linfel didn't stay there to watch the show, though. "Alright, you guys continue. Don't forget his cards. I have something to do. Once you are done, wait for me here. I will be right back."
Alvin and the others were taken aback. "You are abandoning us?!"
Linfel laughed as his voice grew further away. "Hahaha! This guy doesn't have even 10% of his Magic Energy left. If you still lose to him, then that's all there is to it. Put your training to the test. See you in a moment." And just like that, Linfel disappeared in the distance. Linfel... was the only being in this Dungeon who could still fly!
