31.3 Engineer
Kimimaro was abnormally smart at his age, this was confirmed by the other Marine higher ups especially Sengoku and Zephyr, his expertise ranged from strategic warfare, chemistry, battle sense, and including mechanical engineering. And Enel, was surprisingly susceptible and had tremendous talents in Mechanical engineering making them half engineer and half combatant.
The most jaw-dropping things that the duo achieved was to make their massive ship able to sail even with only less than 20 person on board, by using some mechanism and Enel's electromagnetic power, the ship can do something which can only be done by at least 50 men in order to set sails.
Indeed, Kimimaro's flagship only contained exactly 17 person with the lowest rank is chef onboard, other than Navigator which was specialy designated rank given to Tiana and her Apprentice Rome, the ship were filled with Commander and Liutenant ranked personel which also served as combatants! And Enel was considered his right-hand man on board wth his rank as a Captain.
There was no cannoneer which has the job to shoot the ship's cannon, no deckhand, no steward, and especially no trainee. As for carpenter, there was also none as usualy Kimimaro or Enel themselves were the ones who took care of the ship if it needs repairing.
At first, Zephyr and Sengoku rebuked Kimimaro because of his lack of crews but the later argued that he doesn't need too many crews as it would bound with some unnecessary casualties, the latter stated that he had hand-picked his own crews in order to set sails and do missions.
The arguments were ongoing until Kimimaro and Enel showed their modifed version of ship and its capability towards the Marine higher ups. Since then, no ones would argue how Kimimaro operated his own ship.
Despite the higher-ups demand for Kimimaro and Enel to modified the rest of the Marine's ship, the relevants person refused by arguing that they need Enel's power in order for the ship to operate. Thus they became quiet once again.
However, Kimimaro still gave the Marine some leftover soup which was the ship's schematic in order to not having any trouble in later date due to jealousy.
Back to the scene,
Kimimaro started his inspection from the bottom where the ballast of the ship situated, the ballast deck was the most bottom deck of the ship, usualy the crews put their supplies inside of it. due to its cold temperature because the area was perpetually under the sea.
