A month later, Marineford, 

At Marineford training ground, Kimimaro was seen giving a lesson to a Marines young recruit, 

"...Anything you want to ask?" Kimimaro asked with his gentle smile at the end of the morning lesson.

"Sir, is it true that you defeated Douglas Bullet?" Asked one recruit while raising a hand.

"I was just lucky.." Kimimaro answered.

"There's no way it was just luck!" Exclaimed other recruits as he grinned.

"Hahaha...Okay, any other question regarding our lesson just now?" 

The recruits raised their hands to one another in high spirits, as they began to throw question upon question. 

Kimimaro answered each of their questions patiently.

Suddenly, one of the young recruits stood up gaining everyone's attention towards her.

"Yes, Hina?" Asked Kimimaro.

The young girl around 11 years old had a serious expression on her face, her marine recruits outfit was fitted loosely, and she had dark brown eyes and straight, shoulder-length pink hair worn in a middle part.

"Hina wanted to ask, What is Haki sir Kimimaro?" Asked the pink-haired girl.

Hearing her question all of the recruits instantly shut their mouth and straightened their sitting posture, their ears were wide open in anticipation of the answers.

"Haki huh?" Kimimaro chuckled a little. 

He then cleared his throat and began to explain, "Actually, it is too soon for you guys to learn about it. But, knowing Chief Instructor Zephyr will give you a lesson about it next year, I will explain it briefly."

"Haki in literal meaning is 'Ambition'." 

Kimimaro paused as he saw the recruits were visibly confused, and then he continued, 

"... this energy manifests from willpower, anyone theoretically can harness their own spiritual energy for various superhuman feats. For example.." 

*Wham! 

Kimimaro suddenly knocked one of the young recruit's head who had a cigar in his mouth!

*Pooof! 

However, the young recruit's head suddenly turned into smoke upon impact before it reapeared once again!

"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" Yelled the smoking recruits clearly agitated and confused.

Kimimaro however didn't answer as his attention was back towards the other.

"You see? Smoker ate Logia-type Devil Fruit called Moku-Moku no Mi(Smoke Fruit), Without Haki, no matter what you did, you can not touch him without his permission. His body turned intangible due to his Devil Fruit power unconsciously after perceiving an incoming attack." 

Smoker gruntled slightly while his fellow recruits were in awe of the former ability.

"However..." 

*Bam! 

"Aaaah! It hurts!" Smoker suddenly felt there was a bump on his head after Kimimaro knocked on his head once more. 

Covering his fist with Busoshoku(Color of Armament) Kimimaro gently rubbed Smoker's head. 

"...This is Busoshoku(Color of Armament) Haki."

"Oooh...." The recruits were amazed when they saw a visible bump growing on Smoker's head, the latter was fuming as he threw his head away even though he still let Kimimaro rub his head.

"...Busoshoku Haki is a form of Haki that allows the user to use their own spiritual energy to create, in essence, an invisible piece of armor around themself, providing incredible offensive and defensive capabilities."

"... And as you guys can see, it can be used to injure Devil Fruit users that are otherwise immune to ordinary physical attacks, such as Logia users like your fellow recruit have here." Continued Kimimaro as he let go of Smoker's crude hair.

Hina threw another question immediately after Kimimaro ended his explanation, 

"Hina is curious, how can one train their spiritual energy?" 

"As expected of our best recruit, good question Hina. Ten points for Gryffindor!" Kimimaro smiled, 

The other recruits were confused, what's Gryffindor?
