Whispers from the Abyss

Chapter 7: Upcoming Plans

Luke started to plan for the upcoming situation, whatever that was. Luke knew he needed to figure out how to do all those different magics with his abyssal energy. Luke knew his other form was key to figuring out everything regarding that energy. Changing to the form was easy; all Luke had to do was imagine himself in that form, and it would happen almost instantly. Now that Luke had changed into the form, it took a minute to feel what it was like while not freaking out. Luke felt strange, almost like he had half-abyssal energy. Luke started to try and manipulate the abyssal energy for his own purpose. Luke was meditating, trying his best to feel the abyssal energy in him. Luke started to feel a dark, depressing, almost like death itself, and knew it must be abyssal energy. Luke felt the energy flowing through him, but no matter what Luke did or tried, nothing worked.

Luke had a feeling that if he kept messing around with abyssal energy without the proper knowledge, he would die in ways he couldn't comprehend. Once Luke realized this, he stopped trying to do anything with abyssal energy, as he didn't want to die. Luke decides that the first thing he is going to do when he goes back into the sea of knowledge is to look for knowledge on how to use abyssal energy for his benefit. Luke got back to planning what he needed to do in the future, disregarding magic for the time being. Luke knew ‌he needed to get more physically fit, as demonstrated by the battle against the clone, which he only won with a trick. Starting tomorrow, Luke was going to start exercising, if just to be physically fit enough to defend himself from attackers. Besides getting physically fit enough, Luke thought if he wanted to become a mage, he would need some sort of hideout/mage lair, if Luke could even call it that yet. Luke tried to think of any places nearby that were concealed enough to hide from others, but at the same time, he wouldn't kill Luke on the way there.

After Luke racked his brain for a few minutes, he remembered about a ravine that was off in the woods near his house. Tomorrow morning, Luke was going to go check out the ravine and see if it was eligible to be used as his mage lair. After Luke decided on his next set of actions, he went back to doing his schoolwork because he still needed to act like a normal high schooler. Luke spent the rest of the day doing work for his school. After finishing all the work, Luke was exhausted, so he went to bed. Luke awoke in the black room again, this time surrounded by the shadows of creatures from the abyss. Luke saw a few that he recognized, namely, the Urgudek and Nahkeshnx, by their unique features. Deep down in Luke's mind, this must be a trial that the beings in the abyss were giving him. Luke somehow knew deep down that to complete this trial, he must beat one of each species in this trial space by any means necessary. Luke first started with the two that he knew, so he would at least have an idea of what he was against. First off was the Urgudek; Luke knew that he had to stay away from his opponent and do hit-and-run tactics. The Urgudek was towering over Luke. Luke had to look up to even get a chance to see the being's face. The being stood at a massive 2 meters tall, towering above any other living being Luke had ever seen. It had the height advantage over Luke, and he didn't know what to do…
