Chapter 225: The-Boy-Who-Vanquished (XI) [Chapter 353]
"Would you look at that, it already an hour…" Harry cooed excitedly as he Wandlessly cast a Tempus to check the time. "Well even though you ended up asking for water, you managed to abstain from drinking even a single drop of water… That's good enough in my books" Harry clapped his hands and Conjured some water for Voldemort in one of the goblets.
The island was Charmed to disappear any Conjured water, but there were ways to get around that little issue and Harry knew exactly how to do that…
As soon as Voldemort saw the goblet filled with water, he pounced on it like a rabid animal. He finished the water in a moment and for a moment, Harry was forced to wonder if the man simply sucked in the water with his nose. Harry Conjured some more water for Voldemort and once again, Voldemort finished the water very quickly.
Now that he had finally managed to drink some water, his mind started to become clear. The first thing he started to feel was shame… He realized that he had been acting like a dog after losing his mind and then came the rage. His mind blanked for a moment just thinking about all the humiliation Potter had put him through. For a moment, all he could see was red, but he quickly shook off the feeling as he knew that it was not the right time.
No matter how much he wanted to return the humiliation to Potter, he knew better… It was hard to admit it, but he knew that he was no match for Potter, at least not yet. There were more important things he needed to deal with right now, like walking away with his life, if Potter was willing to see through his promise for real.
That was when he remembered that his mind was no longer his own… No matter what he planned, Harry would know and then all of his plans would go down the drain… Is that how the rest of his life was going to be? Voldemort couldn't help but feel despair… 'No! I am Lord Voldemort! I will not go down like this!' After a moment, Voldemort finally regained his composure.
"Ah… And here I thought you were about to give up… That would have been sad" Harry commented with a disappointed look on his face and that was enough proof for Voldemort to realize that Harry was telling him the truth.
"Are you going to let me live?" Voldemort decided to ignore the temptation of attacking the boy with his extremely limited skills in Wandless Magic. He really wanted to think about how to solve his problem, but he decided not to. It was not the right time to think about such things. First of all, he needed to get out of here before anything else. That much he was aware of.
"A promise is a promise" Harry repeated and Voldemort felt almost relieved. He feared death over everything else. That was the reason why he created Horcruxes in the first place.
"Can I have my Wand back?" Voldemort asked hesitantly as he tried to stand up with shaky legs. His Wand was not something he was willing to part with, but if Potter refused then he would be forced to walk away, but he still had to try.
"No, I plan to keep it" Harry answered without even thinking. It wasn't going to matter if Voldemort had his Wand or not only in a moment, so why even bother?
Voldemort pursed his lips in displeasure, but there was nothing he could do. "So, can I leave now?" Voldemort asked, hoping this to be over with.
"Leave?" Harry asked as he inclined his head with a confused look on his face and Voldemort felt his stomach drop at the thought. "Didn't I tell you to etch this place into your memories since this is the last place you are ever going to see" Harry reminded him with a frown on his face.
"You-You! You promised you would let me go!" Voldemort snarled while pointing his finger at Harry. He knew that there was a chance that Potter might refuse to follow through on his promise, but a part of him was expecting to walk away.
"I never said that" Harry shook his head. "I simply said I won't kill you" Harry clarified with a grin.
Voldemort fumed and lunged at Harry, unable to hold himself back anymore, but he froze in midair before he could reach Harry. "Such impatience" Harry chided the man with an amused look on his face. "That was not nice of you" Harry chuckled before he opened a small portal. He pulled out a long sword and held it in front of Voldemort…
"What are you-" Voldemort went to ask something but stopped talking when Harry placed the sword on his neck.
"It is a nice sword, wouldn't you agree?" Harry asked as he trailed his finger along the blade. "This might look like a normal blade, but can you see these runes?" Harry asked as he placed his finger on top of the blade near the hilt. Voldemort noticed that there were a few Nordic runes inscribed on the blade, but he didn't know what they meant. Yes, he could tell that they were Nordic runes, but he had never seen them before in his life.
Without saying anything else, Harry pulled back the sword and buried the sword into Voldemort's chest up to the hilt, making him gasp. "I am not going to kill you, I am going to trap your Soul for eternity in this sword…" Harry revealed and Voldemort's eyes grew wide in horror, but Harry simply grinned as cast the Spell to extract his Soul from his body. Voldemort shrieked like a madman and started to thrash, but there was nothing he could do.
A few moments later, he finally stopped screaming… Harry pulled out the blade and noticed a red sheen surrounding the blade… The sword in his hand was beyond dangerous. Harry carefully inspected the sword before nodding his head in satisfaction. Harry turned to look at the body of his destined nemesis and the body was already crumbling… He slowly looked up and tears started to roll out of his eyes.
For the first time in years, he finally felt truly free…
