Chapter 813: He's Way Stronger
The Off-Worlder definitely understood that I was not going to take his side and I was prepared to fight.
No other words were exchanged as we lowered ourselves to a combat stance.
First thing I tried was to try and shoot a [Laser] at him aimed at his leg.
Something appeared where my laser would have hit him and I barely managed to duck my head in time as my own [Laser] got reflected back directly at me.
He didn't even wait for the spell to dissipate before he lunged towards me, a sword appearing through a portal to drop in his hand.
I pulled out my own sword as well while I used [Light Forge] to materialise a full suit of armour around myself.
He raised his hand above his head, preparing to attack me with an overhead slash.
I lifted my own sword in preparation to receive it, only to see that his figure suddenly blurred and he disappeared from view.
I felt the hair at the back of my neck stand and I turned my head to see him standing behind me with his sword poised in a thrusting position.
"[Speed Of Light--"
My tail lashed out and smashed against his abdomen, sending him skidding back and stopping him from doing whatever he was trying to do.
I spun around, expecting him to need a moment to recover which would allow me to restart this fight.
That was when I realised he was still maintaining his sword thrust pose and his head lifted up to look at me right at that moment.
"--Thrust]!"
I saw his sword glow before I felt something hit me in the chest, flinging me back and sending me flying through the air.
My armour had shattered and I could feel an indescribable pain blossoming in my chest.
I flipped myself in midair and landed on my feet. I didn't even have time to check the wound since the bastard was already leaping after me and his sword was raised up in preparation to strike.
"[Mountain Cleaver]!"
His sword glowed once more and I instinctively knew I could not block that attack.
I leapt to the side right before his sword cleaved through the space I had been, his blade striking the ground and causing it to explode from the impact.
The shockwave was enough to blast me flying back and I had to flare my wings to regain control of myself.
Looking up, I saw him stepping forward to slash his sword in an arc towards me.
"[Gale Slash]~"
A blade of air flew towards me aimed directly at my neck.
I managed to activate my Light Sword's enchantment before raising it, blocking the air blade from decapitating me.
Damn… He must be using the Valour Skills of all the Dungeoneers he's controlling… And he's using them like he's activating skills from a game…
This is such a cheat…
He lowered himself into a thrusting stance again with the tip of his sword aimed at my head.
"[Speed Of Light Thrust]!"
Since I already saw that attack before, I managed to side step the attack this time, letting the thrusting attack fly past me while I stepped forward to get pass his guard.
I could see his body tensing up right before I smashed the pommel of my sword into his abdomen, shoving him back.
He took a step back from the blow but I wasn't done yet as I smashed my knee into his chin, knocking him back another step.
While he was still reeling from the blow, I swung my sword over my head before slashing it down at his shoulder, aiming to maim him.
I was expecting the blade to cut into his shoulder but unexpectedly, I found my sword being deflected off of him with a loud 'clang'.
That was when I realised that his Endurance stat must be insanely high and all of my attacks so far must have been completely ineffective. Did he intentionally act like it hurt to draw me into this trap?!
I was just about to leap back when his hand shot out to grab me by the neck, lifting me above his head.
His fingers tightened around my throat and I let out a choked gasp, feeling the air being squeezed out of me.
"This time… I'm not leaving until you're dead," He growled, his sword raising up again. "You are alone now, without the Queen nor your little servants to help you."
I kicked at him but that didn't even affect him in the slightest. Heck, he didn't even flinch from it.
His sword stopped above his head with its edge aimed at my head, "Time to die."
Several hands shot out from my shadow, each of them clenching into fists and punching towards the cloaked Off-Worlder.
Their appearance was so unexpected that he released me to back away from my Shadow Guards' attack.
I fell back down but Eins caught me before Zwei and Drei started to heal me with their healing magic.
The pain around my neck and chest quickly subsided and I looked up to see the Off-Worlder staring in my direction without moving.
"What is… What is this?" He muttered audibly. "Is this teleportation? Did you clone yourself an army?"
Ah, he doesn't know that my Shadow Guards are actually summons and not real people.
Well, I already know that this guy has way higher stats than I do with all the Mercenaries he had under his control so… Fuck it, I'm going all out.
A single mental command from me and all of my Shadow Guards leapt into action, a number of them charging towards him while the others remained a distance away to fling spells at him.
I joined them as well by shooting a [Spark Strike] aimed at his chest, my spell being one of the few dozens that were sent flying towards him.
He was obviously not expecting to be suddenly forced into a battle like this but he did not try to run away.
Instead, carefully weaved through the onslaught of spells and deflected the spells he could not avoid with his sword.
When the ones running towards him were just about to reach him, he suddenly raised his sword high up into the air while looking straight at us.
His sword glowed and I felt a foreboding feeling coming from the sword right before he stabbed it downwards into the ground.
"[Apocalypse Down]!"
The entire ground shook before pieces of earth shot out from the ground, a few of my Shadow Guards not being able to reach in time and ended up either getting blasted into the sky or impaled by the earth spikes.
I managed to escape unscathed by leaping into the air and staying in the air by flapping my wings.
My Shadow Guards were not as fortunate though as quite a number of them were hit by the rocks.
This bastard…
His stats are definitely way higher than mine… And it's all because of that stupid artefact… Is there a way for me to deal with that?
He was still looking at us silently before he suddenly laughed out loud, "Hahahaha! I see now! I was mistaken to think that you were using science for this! You already said that you were on this world's side! So of course you would be using magic instead!"
What is he talking about? Why is he speaking as if he wasn't using magic himself? His stupid bangle was literally made using this World's magic and he's relying on magic to fight against me, isn't he?
Is he trying to insinuate that our science was better than their magic?
The Off-Worlder smirked, "Yes… I see now… You have some kind of skill that lets you clone yourself… How did you even clone so many of them without them rebelling? No matter. Sending more trash to fight is still trash. Has no one ever told you that? It wouldn't change anything."
Huh? Wait… Did he actually think I created some cloning machine to clone myself in order to get this army of mine? You literally saw them come out of my shadow dude…
Without waiting for an answer, he lowered himself and slashed his sword in an arc.
"[Tornado Slash]!"
Several blades of wind flew out and rushed towards my Shadow Guards.
The few in front got decapitated while the rest had their limbs cut off.
The Shadow Guards that had been cut dropped onto the ground, unmoving.
"Ha! Weak, as I thought!" He laughed.
I didn't grieve over them and simply gave another order, prompting everyone to continue the attack.
"You really don't learn, do you?! Is this just desperation?!" He roared, slashing his sword out while yelling the same skill name again.
Even more of my Shadow Guards fell but there were still quite a lot of them remaining, none of them showing signs of giving up. Your next read is at m v|l-e'm,p| y- r
The rest of us shot even more spells at him but none of them managed to land on him as he dodged or blocked them all with his sword.
Heck, even one of my Shadow Guards shooting fire at him had the fire blown away with a swing of his sword.
He could even deflect the [Laser] spells shot at him despite the spell being shot at the speed of light and none of my Shadow Guards could get close to him without them being cut.
Just how many Dungeoneers has he controlled just to have stats and skills like this?!
Levianne? Could you maybe free those Dungeoneers in that basement faster?
