Wandering Mysterious Lord

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Fear and Reputation

[Elio]

"...Go to Pteruges-V and locate an abandoned building at coordinates 135:7372124, 271:6372711. Enter it. There is an untouched canned drink under the window sill on the first floor. Take it. Wait until 11:12 AM on Wednesday and place the can at the entrance of the building. Kafka will appear 2 minutes later. There is a chance she will stop to investigate the can. Then, take the chance to throw this ball at her feet. I will take over and converse with her from there. Be careful not to carelessly use "His" name, It'll draw his attention.

Amon spent years traveling to different planets. He did have to say many were beautiful but some were plain weird. He had met different Aeons and even had a chat, some went with a fight and others avoided him like the plague. The Propagation ran, The Elation became friends, The Remembrance detested his power, The Preservation ignored him, Lan was knew of him but preferred to avoid contact and Nanook picked a fight in which it went horribly wrong for him.

Nanook discovered why the outer gods feared the Lord of the Mysteries. It seemed that the hunt for Propagation finally ended as Lan had delivered the coordinates of the swarm to a planet called Glamoth. There was a saying, you could look at an Aeon and be fine, but look at Mysteries and you'd go mad and die. This was someone who had discovered trying to uncover mysteries the hard way.

A gentle but stern voice resounded through the battlefield as a pillar descended. "This planet has been locked and sealed away. There is no guarantee that you survive if you are too close."

They looked at the owner of the voice, a giant pointed hat and wearing a crystal monocle with a golden pocket watch. His curled black hair and playful eyes twinkled. He stared at the swarm which froze in space. Soon the sky lit up as the power of the sun rained down upon the swarm, the sky did not change in temperature, there was no prelude. Only death, the swarm dropped like flies. Eventually the swarm mother fell as Amon had used grafting to tie it's existence to the remnants of the propagation.

In an instant he vanished as fast as he left.

//Stellaron Hunters//

Elio as a part of the agreement with Kafka would keep her updated with sightings or information regarding Amon. At this point, Kafka had realised that Amon was not what he seemed and what he showed back when she was a child was just the tip of it. From the gathered rumors and stories, they could vaguely piece together slightly the extent of his abilities.

Able to be present anywhere at anytime. And can clone? It started off as everyone thinking it was a horror story. But then more and more people started seeing them, the monocles.

People would report returning home or coming back to the city and realising that everyone would wear a monocle on their right eye. But it didn't last for long, but it was horrifying.

One report on the Monocle Horror thread described a father's worst nightmare. After a tiring session of work he arrived at home only to see his son, daughter and wife stare at him with monocles on their right eye. The mother seemed horribly off as the monocles on the wife made it worse "Are you alright honey? You seem disturbed~" The father ran out and made his way to the bar hoping to wake up from the dream, the bar keeper was in the back restocking only for him to come out with a monocle.

The father was frightened out of his life as he ran back out only to realise everyone around him was wearing a monocle. Soon the caw of a bird signaled him to look at the lamppost only to see a white circle marking on the bird's right eye as if it was also wearing a monocle.

The rest of the stellaron hunters listened in as Silver Wolf smugly chuckled "That sounds like a B grade horror game. So some guy was spooked by a sudden fashion trend." Kafka bit her lip as she processed the info. The monocle on the right eye was a distinct sign of Amon.

But the actions were confusing. Blade continued to read the thread as Elio nodded "There's more. Firefly soon made a remark "I also met a man with a monocle, he was the one that stopped the swarm at Glamoth." Kafka spun back and asked her to describe him "Monocle on the right eye, pointy hat, expensive robes and a golden pocket watch."

Kafka was sure that was him.

Elio coughed before everyone turned back to the thread. "This is perhaps the most horrifying part."

The father soon returned back home and saw that everything had returned to normal. Chalking it up to a stress induced hallucination he returned home only to see an unknown man with a monocle, pointy hat and a golden pocket watch. Monocles were scary for him at that point but what was even more scary was that his son soon called the man with the monocle, Dad.

Kafka, Blade and Silver Wolf were spooked at this point. They could clearly see what was happening.

The father looked so confused as the daughter hid behind the man with the monocle while his wife asked the monocled man, "Honey who is that? Is he one of your workplace friends?"

The father realised that his own family didn't recognise him. His family thought that the man was him. The monocled man smiled as he waved before digging into the dinner meant for him. His wife took care of the man as her husband while he was forgotten.

Almost as if something was disconnected the father snapped and realised he was sitting in the chair and eating the food, no monocle wearing people. His son, daughter and wife recognised him. Everything was normal and would have been a nightmare if he didn't catch a glimpse of the very man waving from outside the window.

Silver Wolf was the first "Holy shit, that went from B grade to A grade. That's terrifying. For everyone to forget you and treat some stranger as you." Blade remained silent, he took this as a good piece of fiction while Firefly looked shaken.

Elio sighed "We could only hope this was fiction. If it didn't happen in the Loufu as well and confirmed by the Reignbow Arbiter." Silver Wolf stared at Kafka and the others hoping they wouldn't pull out a monocle. Suddenly her phone rang out with a notification that sent her screaming.

The wallpaper she had of her video game character suddenly had a monocle on the right eye. Elio stared at the phone's wallpaper before squinting his eyes at the monocle.

"One last piece of information that Lan had released as he deemed it necessary. Never call Him by name and even mentioning him could alert Him." Elio stared at Kafka "To put it simply, your so called big brother is a great old one, and not just any great old one. A pillar of the universe itself. His deity name is most likely the name he gave you, Lord of the Mysteries."

Silver Wolf stared at her phone with suspicion as she inched it closer to Blade in case anything happened.

Amon chuckled watching the reaction of Silver Wolf, the Authority of Error was quite useful in digital aspects. Though perhaps the prank on that father was a bit too far, but on the other hand the wife's cooking was really good.

Perhaps he should have waited for the creepypasta to settle down before pranking the Loufu.

Amon cleaned his monocle before deciding to meet up Kafka. From now on, he'd experience the story in first person perspective. With fooling he made sure that he blended seamlessly allowing Elio's script to continue as normal while he participated in the path of fate.

//Herta Space Station//

A Herta doll piled on a huge stack of papers onto his hands. "Here you go, bring these to Asta. Also remind her to pay the bill." Herta felt something was amiss but dismissed it, this was her favourite assistant. Amon smiled as he walked away, seamlessly blending in and fooling everyone as if he had always been an assistant in the space station.

Amon adjusted his monocle as it flashed a glint of light with a smirk.
