“Arghh!! Damn it, it hurts like hell...” Mo Fan exclaimed in pain.
His arms were hurting so much that, he felt that they could tear off any second now. But he knew that if they stay like this any longer he will lose his grip and they both will fall.
“AAAAAAHHHH, Come up you stupid monkey!!” Mo Fan screamed, as he pulled Zhang Xiaohou’s leg up with all his strength.
His face and hands literally had blue veins emerging on them, while his hands became red in colour as well.
Fortunately Zhang Xiaohou was very skinny and light, and Mo Fan’s built was on the tougher side by fighting with all the bullies constantly.
Zhang Xiaohou immediately understood what Mo Fan was doing, he quickly curled his body as he grabbed on Mo Fan’s clothes.
Mo Fan was not strong enough to climb with one hand, but the position in which he held Zhang Xiaohou was also extremely weird. So he placed his legs on the cliff wall and took its support to stand on his two feet while he pulled Zhang Xiaohou’s legs upwards so he could grab on to himself as he could get his other hand free and then climb.
“You're the best, Brother Fan!! How could you even think of something like this in this situation?” Zhang Xiaohou immediately praised Mo Fan while he still had tears in his eyes.
“Shut you mouth already, hurry up and climb! Use my shoulder as a stepping stone, and grab the rope.” Mo Fan said, as he was really tired of taking on both their weights on his single hand.
“Ah, right..” Zhang Xiaohou sounded a little timid but he quickly nodded his head.
Mo Fan was just an eleven years old kid, he did not have superhuman strength, he was purely holding on through his will power alone. After all no one wanted to die, if they can live through just by holding onto a damn rope, then he will do it even if his hand is destroyed in the process.
Zhang Xiaohou climbed over Mo Fan and quickly grabbed the rope as he climbed up to the edge. They were not that far down from it after all. He extended his hand down towards Mo Fan after climbing up. But Mo Fan didn't accept it. What will he do if this skinny monkey falls again, if he's not able to support Mo Fan's weight.
Blood started pouring through Mo Fan’s hand, making it harder for him to grab. But nevertheless he still climbed up after the little monkey made up.
......
“Hah ha~ Y-You are never ever coming here again!” Mo Fan ordered Zhang Xiaohou in an angry tone, as he barely made it up.
“Ye.. Yes Brother Fan... I’m sorry...” Zhang Xiaohou felt guilty watching the wounds he had because of him.
“Hah... I-Idiot... You have to say Thank you here...” Mo Fan said while feeling out of breadth. His vision was starting to blur out.
Zhang Xiaohou started to cry while saying 'Thank You' while hugging Mo Fan.
To be honest Mo Fan was super tired even though he was hanging for less than 5minutes, after the adrenaline calmed down his muscles, bleeding hand and the scratches he got all over his back and stomach because of the rough Rocky surface was hurting really bad, he literally fainted on the spot and didn’t know what happened next.
Mo Fan had to be admitted in the hospital for a few days because his muscle injuries were more serious than he had thought. After that accident, Zhang Xiaohou was glued to Mo Fan and always admired him. Soon enough he actually became someone like his big brother over time.
......
“Ah right! Have you seen Mo Fan?” Wang Xiulin suddenly asked Zhang Xiaohou.
“Brother Fan? No, I didn’t met him since the start of Vacations. He did say that he’s going somewhere.” Zhang Xiaohou said as he remembered his last conversation with Mo Fan.
_Ah! I was indeed being paranoid, he’s really out on a trip with his family after all_ Wang Xiulin thought as she nodded her head.
“I see, sorry for taking up so much of your time then. Work Hard Student Zhang~” Wang Xiulin said while she bid farewell to him and went along with Tang Yue.
......
“Right... I wanted to ask this but how do you know that kid Mo Fan?” Tang Yue suddenly asked Wang Xiulin.
She had always found it weird that her best friend was already on first name basis with a guy younger than her.
“What? You got hots for that kid or something?” Wang Xiulin asked gloatingly.
“Huh? No! I was just curious since you who never treat anyone like a person suddenly became friends with a guy younger than you.” Tang Yue blushed at her remark as she quickly explained herself.
She was just genuinely curious.
“Ei~ you’re no fun... But oh well, we met at Hunter’s Union and....”
......
Zhang Xiaohou had arrived at his dormitory. He was already sitting on his windowsill, watching the same nightly boring view of the mountain side while thinking of how to use magic more fluently...
“I wonder how Brother Fan did it... I want to ask him, but it would be a bad idea to disturb him on his trip. Sigh~” Zhang Xiaohou was in a slump.
His Cultivation had also hit a bottleneck, he just wanted to laze around and spend his days while doing nothing.
“The teachers are also useless, and don’t give any worthwhile advices. ‘Just work hard’ they say... Sigh... Forget it, I should follow Brother Fan’s example and cultivate diligently to become a great Mage.” Zhang Xiaohou said as he got up and stretched himself.
SWOOSH~
He suddenly felt a wisp of wind flowing past his neck. He shuddered a little as turned towards the window.
Wind Mages were especially sensitive to wind, they could even feel the wind more than other Elemental Mages ever can.
He noticed there was nothing there, he sighed and extended his hand to close the windows when suddenly a huge illusory Shadow like figure materialised through the clouds and smashed onto the small hill behind the school’s mountain.
Zhang Xiaohou was stunned watching it as the shadow fell down on the mountain and Vanished.
His mouth and his eyes were wide open!
“What the hell?!” he ended up cursing watching the unbelievable sight.
Even though the Illusory shadow was extremely huge and long, the moment it touched the ground it’s figure suddenly vanished without making a single sound.
Zhang Xiaohou immediately looked outside the window to see if anybody beside him had noticed it. But the surroundings were silent and no one was on the balcony. After all students at this hour are in the cafeteria to eat their dinner.
He was the only one who noticed it! And he was also the only one who was the most scared...
