Chapter 86: Chapter 88 Dog Training
Chapter Eighty-Eight
Long Xiaoshan brought Wang Yan back to the village.
The dilapidation of Longyang Village was an eye-opener for Wang Yan; she had thought Long Xiaoshan was joking.
But he wasn't joking at all.
She felt like she had only seen such dilapidated villages on TV; not even a single brick house, except for one, and that was the village chief's.
However, Longyang Village was picturesque, with clear water and lush mountains.
A small river meandered through, the air was incredibly fresh, and birdsong could be heard from the woods from time to time.
It was also very refreshing for Wang Yan, lifting her gloomy spirits.
Long Xiaoshan took Wang Yan to the farm. He had called ahead of time and informed his parents. By the time they reached the farm, Couple Long Dashan were already there. Seeing Wang Yan, He Xiangyue came forward and said, "What a beautiful girl."
"Hello, uncle; hello, auntie," Wang Yan greeted them very sweetly and graciously.
Those who come from the city really are different—sweet talkers with a cheerful personality.
Soon enough, they made Couple Long Dashan beam with smiles, taking quite a liking to this young girl.
"Little Yan, you go play. I need to take care of some business," Long Xiaoshan said.
"Go ahead, Brother Xiaoshan," Wang Yan said, running off into the farm like she had been set free.
Long Xiaoshan rushed to the office. He had noticed Chun Tao standing at the door earlier. Reaching the doorway, he pulled Chun Tao inside, gave her a deep kiss, and asked, "Did you miss me?"
"No, I didn't," Chun Tao replied, her face blushing and her ears red. She lowered her head and fiddled with the corner of her cloth, feeling terribly embarrassed as she had never experienced such things living in the village.
"Still saying you didn't," said Long Xiaoshan as he shut the door, hugging and teasing Chun Tao until she begged for mercy.
"Little Xiaoshan, you've become naughty," Chun Tao said with eyes brimming with tears.
Long Xiaoshan chuckled.
For some reason, after that last incident, he felt a strong urge in this area. There had been quite some time since last time, and he hadn't found a chance to say so.
"Alright, let's talk about serious matters."
"Bring me the account books."
Being away from the farm for over half a month, Long Xiaoshan looked over the account books and asked Chun Tao about what had happened during this time.
"Nothing much, Miss Su Wan came by once, and I told her you were out. Director Shen also came looking for you, saying he had some business with you. Oh, and it seems some of the farm's vegetables were stolen," Chun Tao reported.
"Oh?"
Long Xiaoshan narrowed his eyes.
The vegetables at the farm grew well and were infused with spiritual energy.
Although the rural folks were simple-hearted, many still liked to take small advantages.
"How are those dogs I've been raising?" Long Xiaoshan asked.
"I've been feeding them milk every day as you instructed. They've grown quite big now," Chun Tao said.
"I'll go and take a look." Long Xiaoshan stood up after flipping through the account book.
He went to another room.
As soon as he entered, he saw twelve big dogs crowd around him.
The last time Long Xiaoshan had left, these dogs were just puppies, but after half a month, they had grown to the height of a person's knees. Moreover, each dog had a glossy coat and looked robust, like little leopards.
"Not bad, they're big enough to guard the house now. Plus, if we continue feeding them with spiritual liquid, they'll grow even more," Long Xiaoshan nodded in satisfaction.
"Eh!"
Long Xiaoshan noticed a black native dog that seemed different from the rest, a size bigger than the other native dogs.
The other dogs didn't dare to get close, and it sat there, exuding a solitary pride.
"Come here," Long Xiaoshan called out.

The black earth dog stretched its neck and called out.
Long Xiaoshan was startled, thinking the bark sounded like that of a wolf.
Upon closer inspection, Long Xiaoshan realized that the earth dog indeed had begun to resemble a wolf. All dogs descended from wolves, but this earth dog was generations removed from its ancestors; however, now there were signs of reverting to its roots.
Could it be because of the Spiritual Liquid?
An idea struck Long Xiaoshan.
He took out the Jade Purifying Bottle and poured a drop of Spiritual Liquid, feeding it directly to the earth dog.
There was plenty of Spiritual Liquid from his recent trip to Xinyuan County, so he wasn't worried about wasting it.
After feeding it the Spiritual Liquid, Long Xiaoshan knew it would take time.
He thus began to employ a Taoist technique to tame the earth dogs, using several books left by Jia Laodao. Aside from talismans and feng shui, there was also a book on Taoist techniques. These weren't high-falutin tricks like sword flying.
Instead, they were common yet practical techniques like breath-holding, turtle breathing, and invisibility.
Among them was the Spirit Taming Technique.
It could specifically be used to domesticate animals for one's own use.
Long Xiaoshan utilized the Spirit Taming Technique to communicate with the earth dogs, seeing significant progress within half a day. The earth dogs could already understand many of his simple commands.
After dealing with the earth dogs,
it was nearly dark.
Long Xiaoshan planned to go to town for errands the next day and then to the county to pick up Long Xiaoling.
Wang Yan had visited today, so Long Xiaoshan didn't send his parents back home. He had Chun Tao cook dinner, and they all ate together at the farm. Chun Tao was recognized by He Xiangyue as Long Xiaoshan's woman—the only formality missing was a marriage certificate.
Thus, He Xiangyue found her very easy to order around.
After dinner, Long Xiaoshan intended to have Wang Yan stay overnight with his parents while he and Chun Tao had agreed to sneak over later that evening.
But Wang Yan insisted on staying at the farm.
Long Xiaoshan was at a loss for words.
He simply had to indulge the girl; after all, she was a guest. Helplessly, he threw Chun Tao a look, and she covered her mouth with a light laugh.
It wasn't the first time this had happened.
There had been a plan in place last time as well, but Shen Yuerong and the others ended up sleeping at the farm.
He had been holding back for a long while, hoping for a wild night, only to be interrupted again.
During summer, the days were long; it wasn't until seven or eight o'clock that it started to get dark.
With no outlet for his pent-up energy, Long Xiaoshan could only sulk back to his room to read.
He had been reading in the room for a while when the door suddenly flung open. He glanced up and nearly did a double-take. Wang Yan walked in wearing a bikini, revealing swathes of fair skin. She rushed over and grabbed Long Xiaoshan's hand, exclaiming, "Brother Xiaoshan, let's go swimming."
"Ah, your outfit, it's—," Long Xiaoshan stammered as Wang Yan pulled him along.
"What's wrong with how I'm dressed? Doesn't it look good?" Wang Yan looked down at herself, puzzled.
Her sky-blue bikini highlighted the beauty of her youthful figure.
She scrutinized herself and found nothing amiss.
"No, it's not that. It's just a bit revealing," Long Xiaoshan said.
"Scaredy-cat, so prudish. What's the big deal? When I go to the beach for a holiday, some wear even less. Isn't this how everyone swims?" Wang Yan laughed and urged, "Come on, get up. Come swim with me. I've been wanting to swim all afternoon; your pool is so inviting."
With no choice, Long Xiaoshan allowed himself to be pulled up by Wang Yan.
As Wang Yan clung to his arm, Long Xiaoshan could feel that indeed, she was no longer small.
The young girls of today really were well-nourished.
Long Xiaoshan hadn't thought much of it, seeing Wang Yan as a sister, but he was already excited about his plans with Chun Tao that day. The added stimulation caused an intense reaction in his body.
