Two Weeks Between Love and Hate

Chapter 49: Coming Together Only to Be Ripped Apart Is a Cruel Joke, and I Hate Physical Comedy.

“What?! Why?!” Jillian exclaimed, her voice laced with panicked frustration.

“I got a call from my boss just before I came to see you at the hospital. He said he had urgent work needed at his place, insisting only I could be trusted to do it, and it has to be done by the weekend,” Jason attempted to explain, but Jillian’s anger only intensified.

“So, you’re his personal slave now? Why should you have to cut short your fucking vacation just to sort out his personal mess?”

Jason let out a heavy sigh, feeling much like Jill did, but he couldn’t really tell Vince that.

“Yeah, I hear you. I’m just as annoyed as you are, Jill,” he said, though Jillian didn’t seem convinced.

“Then why aren’t you more upset? Why are you just sitting there instead of giving him a piece of your mind? Tell him to fuck off and leave you alone!”

She was pretty upset and didn’t realize, in her anger, that her suggestion might not have been the best move.

“I was earlier, but now I’m trying to remain calm because I’m doing my best not to upset you!” Jason raised his voice a bit, feeling Jillian’s frustration rubbing off on him.

“Well, it’s too late for that now. I’m already fucking upset that you’re just gonna bail on me! On us!”

“I’m not giving up. I still care about you and want to be with you, but I can’t pass up this opportunity.”

Jillian only seemed to get even more angry at Jason’s explanation.

“Opportunity?! You’re seriously calling leaving early an opportunity? Wow, okay.”

Jason groaned at her misunderstanding.

“I’m not saying leaving is the opportunity. It’s the job that comes with it. Every time I do one of these bullshit personal favors for him, I end up getting promoted or at least get a bump in pay. That’s how I’ve gotten to a position that should have taken way longer. If I do this now, I could get promoted to upper management. Do you have any idea what that would mean?” Jason explained, hoping to shed some light on his situation. But Jillian seemed dead set on arguing.

“Oh, right, I forgot how much you love sucking up to that D-bag. You let him control you like his loyal pet as long as he gives you a treat. He has you trained good, doesn’t he?”

Jason felt his jaw tighten at her words. He wasn't just angry at her insult, but at the fact that It was kinda true. Though, he didn’t appreciate her pointing out how much he had to bend over backward to please his sack of shit boss. Jason’s next words came out more heated than he meant them to, but that was pretty much the norm for their relationship.

“I have busted my fucking ass every day, working and doing whatever it takes to secure my future. If I don’t step up, someone else will and take my place. Then all the shit I’ve done and been through all these years would be for nothing. Yeah, I’ve made my fair share of mistakes, and I feel like shit catering to that son of a bitch. But that doesn’t change the fact that I’ve worked and suffered most of my life to get where I am today, and I refuse to let anyone stand in my way… Not even you...”

Jillian leaned back, eyes wide, and settled into her seat, staring at Jason. With her silence, his expression softened slightly.

“I... really fucking like you, Jill... Maybe even more than just that, but... I can’t just drop everything else in my life for you…,” Jason said, his voice soft as he glanced away from her. Jillian’s mouth hung open like she wanted to reply, but nothing came out. She eventually just slumped in her seat, fiddling nervously with her thumbs and staring at her bandaged hands. Jason let out a sigh, grabbing the back of his headrest, trying to steady himself as he stared out through the windshield. The two sat there in long, uninterrupted silence.

“I’m sorry…,” Jillian’s voice quietly broke the silence. The tension between them still hung in the air. Jason glanced at her, not fully turning his head, peering at her from the corner of his eye.

“Yeah... me too,” he responded after a moment.

With all traces of anger gone, Jillian couldn’t sit still anymore. She gingerly maneuvered herself over the center console and crawled into his lap, nestling against his chest. He enveloped her in a warm embrace as she buried her face in his shirt, holding on tight.

“I’ll miss you, you big jerk,” she whispered with a bratty tone. “But I don’t want to be in your way. I want to be with you.”

“I’ll miss you too, and I want you with me,” he said, keeping it simple. She glanced up from his chest, giving him a playful glare.

“You better promise to call me every night, text me every hour, and video chat at least once a week,” she teased, taking a cue from Lina’s playbook. Jason couldn’t help but laugh a little as he gave her a squeeze.

“Whatever you want, princess,” he said, teasing her back slightly.

“I want to stay, but I also want you to not leave,” she added, earning a confused look from him.

“Isn’t it supposed to be more like, I want you to stay, but I know you gotta go?” Jason attempted to correct the woman sitting in his lap.

“I know what I said, jerk,” Jillian retorted as she crawled up his chest, coming face to face with him. “I wanna be selfish... I want you here, I want my family, I want it all,” she complained, gripping the collar of his shirt.

“You brat,” he teased, leaning in to kiss her, but she unexpectedly pulled away.

“You don’t get to call me a brat and then try to smooth it over with a kiss,” she pouted.

“So you get to call me a jerk, but I can’t call you a brat? That doesn’t seem fair.”

“Life is hardly fair.” Her lower lip started to quiver slightly.

Jason gently reached up, and his hand rested against the side of Jillian’s face. She closed her eyes, melting into the warmth of his touch, even though her cheek was still sore. A sigh escaped her lips, and her expression shifted to a deep frown. Her lower lip trembled even more as she opened her eyes and met his gaze again.

“I... I want to stay with you,” she whispered, a tear slipping from the corner of her eye. “I don’t want this to end so soon.” Another tear followed, tracing the same path down her cheek.

“Babe...” Jason whispered gently to the woman sitting on his lap. “I know, I feel the same... But trust me, this distance won’t last forever. We’ll be back together before you know it, I swear,” he said, trying to reassure himself as much as Jillian.

She gave a small nod, a few more tears escaping.

“I know... I just wish I had a bit more time to prepare myself. I’m worried I will forget the feeling of your arms around me or the taste of your lips. I don’t want to forget any of it.”

Unable to hold out anymore, she leaned in and pressed her lips against his, holding the kiss for as long as she could, as if trying to imprint the moment in her memory. He kissed her back, his arm squeezing her tight while his other hand was lost in her red curls. When they finally pulled away, their eyes met once more, and they held each other’s gaze for a long moment.

“Please…don’t let me forget,” she whispered before she dove back into the kiss while her hands trailed down and started to undo his pants.

The couple used the alone time to slip into the back of the vehicle and make love. Luckily, the back seats folded down in the SUV, giving them a bit more space. They took it as slow as possible, stripping each other’s clothes off slowly. Lips tasting each bit of exposed flesh as they did. The desire to savor every moment between them burned like a fire. Soft music played on the radio as they got lost in each other’s bodies. They were there for what felt like ages, chasing one peak after another. Surrounded by a chorus of their moans and screams of pleasure. Eventually, the windows fogged up completely, and they were both sweating profusely from the marathon of sex.

Jillian snuggled up on Jason’s chest, her cheek resting against his chest, loving the warm, cozy feeling. Her hand below, mindlessly fondling him. He made do with his clothes as a pillow, even though there wasn’t quite enough room for his legs to stretch out fully. They were both just lying there, content to lay there in the nude, basking in postcoital bliss. Jillian gently played with his chest hair, enjoying the powerful scent of his sweat and musk.

“I wish we could stay like this forever,” she said, knowing it sounded cheesy but meaning it nonetheless.

“Maybe if I could stretch my legs out,” Jason joked, both laughing a little.

“Haha, so romantic,” Jillian teased, tilting her head to look up at him. Just as she was about to say something, her phone started buzzing from where she had tossed her pants. She let out a sigh and removed her hands from both his chest and package. Quickly grabbing her pants, she pulled out her phone just in time for the buzzing to stop. She saw she had missed a call from her mom, followed by a text.

“Everything alright? You guys have been gone for quite a bit,” Ginny messaged.

“I guess we’ve been out here for quite some time. Mom’s starting to wonder where we are,” Jillian remarked as she shot a quick text, reassuring her mom they were okay, just enjoying some alone time before heading back. They’d been there almost two hours already.

“Should I let my folks know you’re heading home early, or do you want to explain?” she asked, looking over at Jason. He just shrugged slightly.

“You can tell them. They would figure it out soon anyway,” he replied, sounding a little exhausted.

“What time do you have to leave on Thursday, anyway?” Jillian asked, realizing she forgot to ask before they started their sex-athon. As she moved back to her position with her head on his chest, Jason shrugged again.

“I told Vince he’d better book me a first-class ticket for as late as possible on Thursday if he wants my cooperation.”

Vince was supposed to confirm by tomorrow at the latest after his secretary arranged the flight.

“That guy really pisses me the fuck off, you know?” she said with a grumble, sitting up and crossing her legs with a scowl on her face. “Thinks he can do anything he wants just cause he has money. Little bastard.”

Jason propped himself up on his elbows and looked over at the fiery redhead. He took in the sight of the exposed pale skin of Jillian’s nude form sitting beside him. His gaze lingered on each freckle that dotted her body, committing each of their placements to memory. From her arms to the delicate curve of her small bust, up to her neck, and the spotting along her beautiful face, framed by her red curls. When he got to her eyes, Jillian caught him and was staring back.

With a raised brow, she asked, “Do you really wanna go again? I mean, it might have to be oral, but I don’t mind.” She was a bit sore downstairs at the moment.

Jason shook his head with a small laugh, smiling in response to the question. “Haha, no, I was just admiring the view for a moment.” Leaning over to kiss her on the cheek, he grabbed his underwear and slipped his boxer briefs back on.

“Mmhmm?” Jillian said suspiciously, setting her phone down. She moved closer as he started to pull on his pants, her hands running up his broad back and along his shoulders. His body tensed as she began to rub, recalling the last massage he received from the wannabe masseuse. Thankfully, Jillian was mostly just being affectionate, and soon her bare chest pressed into his back, the firmness of her nipples poking against his skin.

Jillian wrapped her arms around his shoulders and gently planted a soft kiss on his neck, moving up to his earlobe. She lightly nibbled on it and then gave it a gentle suck, making him let out a slight grunt of pleasure.

“Are you looking for another round?” Jason asked, unable to resist. Jillian giggled in response, running her nails lightly along his chest from behind.

“Hmm, maybe. Mostly, I just want to soak up as much affection as possible and indulge myself while I can,” she explained, peppering his neck and ear with kisses. He closed his eyes, simply enjoying the sensation as a smile came to his face.

“Mmhmm… I see,” he said softly, taking a deep breath.

“I could maybe hop on for one more ride, but I am happy with this… for now.”

The sound of her lips smacking against his neck intermingled with her words. Goosebumps ran along Jason’s skin from her words and kisses. Noticing this, Jillian let out a small laugh, and her lips brushed against his ear as she spoke.

“I can stop if it bothers you, baby?” She offered, but Jason quickly shook his head.

“No, it doesn’t bother me... It feels nice, actually,” he confessed, leaning back into her a little as she continued. Her nails teased his chest, lips continuing to gently kiss and nibble on his neck and ears while her perky boobs pushed against his back. It was the closest thing to paradise he could imagine. It had the bonus effect of making her happy that she was, in turn, making him feel good.

“I’m glad. I like pleasing you, handsome,” she whispered as she continued. They stayed like that for a while longer before they realized they really should head back since the sun was starting to set. They got dressed and moved back to the front seats of the vehicle, heading back home.

As he dropped off Jillian, she reminded him that he still had to talk with her dad tomorrow night. He assured her that he hadn’t and wouldn’t forget. They shared one more long and rather intense kiss, as she promised to be over later that night. There would be no more sleeping alone while he was here, especially with the news of his early departure. They had already planned to spend almost all their time together, but now they had to somehow condense it into the next two days.

At the Lins’s place, Jillian shared the news with her mom and sister. They felt horrible for her, but not enough to cry about it. But that was okay since Jillian’s tears seemed to make up for it. Each tear she managed to hold back while with Jason in the car found its way out now as June and Ginny tried to comfort her. Jillian couldn’t shake off the feeling of how unfair it all was. They’d been through so much bullshit over the past week and a half, and now their time together was being cut short.

After she let out her feelings, she eventually calmed down and returned to a semi feeling of normalcy. Jason and Jillian’s relationship wasn’t exactly typical, but that didn’t make it any less real. Jillian went back to Jason’s place early again, and they spent the evening watching a movie while his mom played on her tablet nearby.

Katia called it an early night after a hectic day. Jillian was happy to doze off with her head resting on Jason’s chest. He was the last one awake, managing to finish the movie before carrying Jillian to bed. As he was about to walk into his room, he heard laughter from his mother’s room and her voice. His eye twitched slightly, but he let it go. He had to. If this made his mom happy, then he would get over it… somehow. So he hurried into his room, and they both settled in for the night, ready for some rest.

Jillian stirred awake not long after being settled in bed, though still groggy. But she wasn’t keen on just sleeping. Jason wasn’t hard to convince, and the couple lost themselves in each other’s body for the final time that day, but they spent much longer than normal, simply indulging in one another. They knew their time together was running short and wanted to savor every moment. It was early morning by the time they finished. They had planned to shower together but ended up falling asleep, Jason lying on his back with Jillian resting her head on his chest, her hand loosely wrapped around his dick.

The next day arrived, and the couple slept in for a little while. They cuddled for a bit before diving into another round of lovemaking. By this point, Jillian was more than a bit sore, more so than Jason, but he wasn’t completely unscathed either. He was using muscles he didn’t even know he had in ways he hadn’t experienced before. But none of that mattered much; despite the soreness, they were happy and enjoying every moment. Happy to share this connection, the intense desire, and genuine feelings they had for each other. They continued their sexy antics in the shower, shamelessly enjoying each other’s company to the fullest.

As the day went on, their personalities started to clash again, like they usually do. But instead of shutting down or getting into a full-blown fight like they might have in high school... or a week ago, they just argued and bickered but then quickly made up and teased each other.

“Oh my god, what are you doing? That’s disgusting,” Jillian said, making a face like she was going to be sick.

“What? I don’t like the taste,” Jason replied, looking annoyed.

“So you turn it into an abomination? I’m sorry, but I can’t be with someone who commits such atrocities.”

“Hey, you’re the one who wanted to come here! I told you I didn’t like coffee. You’re lucky I even agreed!”

“Yeah, well, if I knew you were going to act like a heathen, I wouldn’t have brought you,” Jillian growled as they continued to argue loudly.

“You are the one that asked me to tag along, so here I am. So I will enjoy my coffee any damn way I please,” Jason insisted as the couple bickered over his coffee concoction that leaned heavily towards a cup of French vanilla creamer with a splash of coffee.

Meanwhile, Mika, barely awake, sat between them on the other side of the table, nursing her espresso. She wasn’t entirely sure why she was there other than Jillian’s invitation. Now, she found herself simply observing the stupidest coffee debate ever unfold.

“It’s not even coffee anymore! It’s just fuckin’ wrong!” Jillian persisted, while Jason just rolled his eyes in response.

“Why does it even matter so much to you?” he grumbled in frustration.

“Because it’s not fuckin’ right!” Jillian yelled. Mika was silently grateful they were outside on the patio of the cafe otherwise they might have been kicked out by now. She wasn’t gonna get banned from her favorite coffee shop thanks to these idiots.

Ten minutes later, Jillian found herself cozied up in Jason’s lap like a content kitten while he cooed sweet nothings into her ear. Much to Mika's disgust.

The three of them started talking about what was going to happen later. It turned out that Mika had always dreamed of visiting Florida. She imagined its beaches and vibrant nightlife, along with all the sexy tan bodies that came with those things. Especially when Jason mentioned the Latino clubs he and his friend Marco often hit up. Jillian practically pleaded with Mika to join her on a future trip. But it wasn’t like it took much to convince her.

“Hey, warmer weather and a chance to meet some Latin hotties? You don’t have to threaten me with a good time,” Mika quipped with a sly grin.

The rest of the day went on pretty much the same way. They’d banter back and forth, maybe argue a little, and then wind up making out, talking about their future together, or sneaking off for some more intimate fun. Mika didn’t hang around after coffee, but that was probably for the best. Once Jason left, Mika knew she’d have to clean up the mess that would be Jillian. Dealing with her drunken friend wasn’t exactly her idea of fun, but she’d do what she could to support and keep her happy. Even though she was still a bit peeved about the stain the two left on her couch.

The couple tried hard to take their minds off the looming reality. They went out for lunch, did some shopping, and even hit up the fun center again for another round of mini golf, just the two of them this time. Turns out, Jillian didn’t take losing too well without June there, pouting when Jason didn’t go easy on her. Jason wasn’t exactly graceful in victory either, teasing her whenever she missed. This led to another playful argument, ending with him giving her a piggyback ride back to the car.

The day was packed full as they tried to live it up like there was no tomorrow. The back of the car got more action than the rental company would have probably preferred, but Jason and Jillian couldn’t care less. Sex had become a big part of their day to day, as they tried to make the most out of every second. Without all the anger and stubbornness, they found they were more than just simply attracted to each other, and they took every opportunity to show it with every touch, grab, and kiss. By the end of the day, they were exhausted but fulfilled. Neither could fathom how hard it was going to be, being apart. There was a constant bittersweet feeling hanging over the couple as the clock ticked down on their time together.

As night fell, the big moment was approaching fast.

“Okay, remember to sit straight and speak clearly. My dad can’t stand it when he has to ask for people to repeat themselves. And make sure to really listen as well because if you have to ask him to repeat something, he’ll be just as pissed,” Jillian coached Jason before his talk with her father. He wore a casual but nice polo shirt and creased slacks that she picked from his clothes, aiming for a nice but not too fancy look.

“Don’t worry so much, babe. Trust me, I know how to handle guys like him. I’ll just treat it like dealing with an exec. That isn’t Vince,” Jason reassured her, looking down at Jillian. She let out a frustrated grunt at the mention of that name.

“Ugh, don’t even bring up that dick. I swear if I ever meet him, I will shove my foot so far up his...” She stopped mid-sentence, opting for a growl of frustration instead. Jason laughed a little, wrapping his arms around his woman.

“Yeah, you and lots of others feel the same way,” he said, pulling her close and cradling the back of her head.

“I can’t imagine working for someone like him. Can’t you just like…not?” She sighed, looking up at her boyfriend with a cute pout.

“I don’t have much of a choice,” he said, now massaging her scalp and rubbing her back.

“Mmm, baby…” she murmured, looking up at him with that gaze, one he started to pick up on after the fourth time she’d used it on him. Jason knew he shouldn’t indulge, and they didn’t have time to. But as he leaned down to kiss her, Jillian’s alarm went off, and she let out a groan of disappointment, signaling Jason’s time to face the music.
