Book 3: Chapter 9 (2/9)
Yrsut was fighting with Kain’s Ancient Vampires using her giant dragon form. Hearing Kain wanted to leave this area and attack her master, she transformed into a Sixteen Wings Angel Battlemage using [Angelic Avatar] spell. Yrsut also casted [Summon Angel Warrior] to summon a Sixteen Wings Angel Warrior to help her hold back the Ancient Vampires that were she was fighting with while Yrsut attempted to block Kain’s path. Not just Yrsut, but Ermina also created three clones of herself using [Replica] spells and sent them to block Kain’s path.
Before Kain could do anything, a blue-haired male Demigod with a pair of Sapphire Wings appeared in front of him. The first thing that came to Kain’s mind was, “What kind of wings is that? I have never seen such beautiful wings. A human warrior having a pair of wings? God-tier? He is a God-tier Warrior! F*cking Noe Clerico really has a God-tier Soul-Bound Creature!”
Kain was about to attack the Demigod. Kain then quickly realized the Demigod wasn’t there to attack him but to attack Yrsut and Emina’s clones instead. In just four easy sword slashes, both Yrsut and three of Emina’s clones were instantly killed. Of course, they were also instantly revived through [Reanimate] spells using Noe’s mana pool. Even so, Yrsut and Emina knew they couldn’t chase after Kain if this Demigod kept on blocking them.
Kain turned and saw Kimaris was fighting against Agnes and Conrad using a thundering saber. Kain smiled and thought to himself, “Kimaris must have allowed Ursula to transform into her human form. That explained why there was a Demigod God Warrior here assisting me. Ursula must have casted [Demiplane] spell and was lucky enough to trap a God-tier Warrior Demigod for two minutes.”
Two minutes sounded like nothing but it was long enough for Kain to end the battle with Noe if everything happened according to his plan. Kain turned toward Lysander and saw she and her Ancient Vampires couldn’t get away from Kain’s twenty thousand Ancient Vampires. Kain confidently flew toward Noe while thinking, “Noe Clerico… today is your doomsday. No one can save you now!”
Flew in front of the five thousand Flaming Earth Golems, Kain stared at them as they prepared to defend their Conjurer Mage with their lives if Kain dared to attack. Rilloc, who was flying above Noe, was also on high alert and ready to attack Kain at any moment if he got any closer to Noe. Kain patiently waited and counted each second until a minute passed and activated the [Soul Bridge] technique to open a portal allowing Anwyn to fly through.
Kain and Anwyn already rehearsed this battle strategy three times over a month ago. Even though Anwyn despised Kain very much, at least Kain defeated and forced her to be his Soul-Bound Creature. Noe Clerico on the other hand caused a ruckus in the Devils’ planet and walked away while embarrassing Anwyn by making her appear to be powerless against him. The moment Anwyn flew through the portal, she quickly released an invisible aura from herself that spread throughout the entire battlefield using the [Analyze] spell she had created. The reason Anwyn did this was to avoid being tricked by Noe by attacking his [Shadow Clone] spell and miss the perfect opportunity to execute him.
Anwyn pointed the finger and commanded her Soul-bound Magical Staff to fire three large and powerful ice beams that froze the five thousand Flaming Earth Golems along with Rilloc, as well as a thousand Celestial Angels including their Conjurer Mage, Noe Clerico. Immediately after the ice beams were fired, Anwyn shot a colossal fireball from her hands that was big enough to be seen from a hundred miles away toward Noe’s direction.
That colossal fireball collided and caused an extremely powerful explosion that completely annihilated Noe Clerico and his conjured creatures in an instant. This fireball was so powerful that it also killed Finwe and depleted two out of Kain's health pools in the process as well. Kain had four health pools that allowed him to recover his body parts and used two health pools to survive Anwyn's fireball. After the explosion was over, Kain conjured Finwe back to the battlefield using the [Conjure Finwe] spell. Even though Kain was confident that his battle strategy was a success and there was no way Noe Clerico could have survived, it wouldn’t hurt to conjure Finwe back just in case.
The entire audience including Arthur Castillon, Gwenn Bigham, Adrik Volsky, Kath Donoghan, Etgar Revenmar, and Lucius Flavonius Acilianus were shocked by how powerful Anwyn’s fireball was as they stood up in surprise.
Adrik Volsky’s mouth opened wide as he thought to himself, “I was foolish to worry for Kain Bersk. The creature he just conjured is powerful enough to destroy this entire planet within a week. Having such a powerful creature under his command, it is no wonder why Kain was eagerly fighting with Noe Clerico three days ago instead of resting as he was supposed to have. There is no way Noe can survive against such a mighty opponent.”
Just like Adrik Volsky, Etgar Revenmar couldn’t believe his eyes as he thought, “That giant fireball was at least a hundred times stronger compared to Vonda Hardy’s [Frumgar] spell. Kain, how did you manage to have such a powerful being serving you?”
Liliana Bersk touched Jaane’s left arm and asked, “Mother, is she the Devil Overlord that father defeated and forced to be bound to his Conjurer Soul?”
Zander Bersk turned his head toward Jaane then looked at Liliana and said, “Liliana, can’t you see her Devil Wings? She must be the Devil Overlord as father mentioned before.”
Jaane shook her head and honestly answered Liliana, “My dear, I don’t know if she is the Devil Overlord or not but there is no other explanation.”
Jaane smiled as she thought the battle was over. Jaane thought, “Kain has defeated Noe Clerico. All he has to do next is destroy the Mages Council and the four of us can live happily thereafter.”
Arthur Castillon was surprised at how powerful Anwyn’s magical power was, but that didn’t frighten him as it did with the Lord of the Colors and the world leaders. Even the Holy Mage Gwenn Bigham was trembling in fear after witnessing the colossal fireball’s explosion power. Arthur sighed lightly and thought to himself, “Kain, the battle between you and I can’t be avoided then.”
