Chapter 33: Something Unexpected
"Zz... Guys! We're under attack, Guillermo.... Guillermo got shot! I don't know what to do, come quick! We're in the forest to the west, hurry!"
"How is that possible, are you another group of survivors?" Airon couldn't help but frown, he grabbed his modified M4 and prepared to leave.
The expressions of the others changed drastically, they picked up the weapons around them one after another and ran in the direction where Glenn and Guillermo left a moment ago!
Airon's fear was finding a hostile group of survivors, now his group was expanding, he couldn't afford to start a war with most of his inexperienced people!
He knew they were near the farm where there were people, but for that very reason he warned them all to open their eyes wide as they explored.
Soon, they all saw them in the forest. Unexpectedly, there was a fat man standing next to them. Guillermo fell to the ground, not knowing if he was alive or dead. The fat man standing there said something.
Seeing this scene, Airon's always calm face showed an expression of disbelief, he could not believe what he was seeing. There was no doubt that the fat man in front of him was Otis, but he really couldn't remember if this was the day Carl was originally shot.
But truth be told, did the shooting have to happen for Rick to meet Hershel at any cost? If so, Airon knew he would be the one to blame for Guillermo getting shot when he originally intended to interact with the people at the farm.
Several people rushed forward, Airon immediately began checking Guillermo's wounds, while Shane and the others pointed at Otis, "Who are you, why did you attack them, where is your partner?"
Otis was stunned at this moment, he was just hunting, he didn't expect to make such a wound to that person a moment ago, so he answered with a nervous tone.
"I, I... I'm Otis! I'm just here to hunt, look, that's my deer. It's right there, I didn't mean to, I really aimed at the deer and didn't realize there were people in this place."
Shane was also furious at this point and continued to question Otis loudly.
"You're lying, I don't believe you!"
"I, I didn't mean it that way! I really, really was just hunting! You have to believe me!" Otis had soldered his rifle at this point.
Airon did a simple check. He found that, although Guillermo had passed out, the only thing he could be sure of was that the injury was serious, but he shouldn't be in a hurry to get results on short notice.
In these cases, at a glance it is very difficult to know the extent of the damage caused by a bullet wound, since he does not know its trajectory.
Airon lifted his head to look at Otis, stood up and pressed Shane's arm.
"He was supposed to be hunting, Guillermo was accidentally wounded! The wound is not deep, but surgery is needed!"
After he finished speaking, Airon said to Otis, who was still apologizing, "Otis, right, is your house nearby? It needs surgery!"
"Hershel! Hershel has the equipment to save him! I can take you there!"
"Where?"
"In this direction, just go straight ahead." Otis pointed towards the woods.
"Lead the way!"
Shane roughly grabbed Otis' clothes and was about to walk that way, but stopped when he heard Airon yell.
"Even though he wasn't seriously injured, we can't move him casually, God knows how far we have to go!"
"Then what should we do, he's bleeding badly, and if he doesn't bleed more, I'm afraid he'll die!"
When everyone didn't know what to do, Airon suddenly ran to the side of a small tree, took out his knife and began to cut.
After quickly cutting two small trees, the knife in Airon's hand quickly cut some twigs from the trees, and in the blink of an eye, two decent wooden sticks appeared.
Airon looked at some people and pointed at Glenn and Otis.
"Take off your coats, both of you, quick!"
After finishing speaking, Airon also took off his coat, then opened his pant legs and cut some strips of cloth with just a few knives.
As a result, Airon quickly manipulated the jackets of the two. About two minutes later, a simple stretcher appeared in front of everyone!
"Well, it looks like it's done."
Everyone was silent and then began to move and hurriedly carried Guillermo to the stretcher.
Airon helped hold the makeshift stretcher and began instructing several people, "Rick, you and I are on the left, Shane and T-dog are on the right, everyone hold him tight, hurry up!"
After talking, the four of them lifted Guillermo together, weighed the stretcher and he felt quite stable. The four followed Otis and ran into the woods.
After a while the four ran forward carrying the stretcher, with the exception of Airon the others were breathing unnaturally.
Shane was out of breath, as he shouted angrily, "You fucking idiot, run faster. Otherwise I'll kill you with one shot, quick."
Otis knelt on the ground and said breathlessly, "Sorry, I can't run anymore, you guys keep going forward. There's not much more road left, keep going forward."
Seeing that Otis couldn't run anymore, the four of them didn't dare waste time, so they could only keep running.
Glenn next to him was also out of breath, but he was much better, so he stretched out his arms to hold Otis and slowly chased after the four people in front of him.
After running out of the woods, Airon saw the lonely houses in the field in the distance.
"Go ahead, go, go! Run!"
Rick and the others also saw the house in the distance, and they finally felt excited, and the rhythm of their feet quickened a little.
"Hershel! Is Hershel there?"
Ten meters away from the house, Airon shouted loudly and soon saw some girls running out of the house, followed by an old man with white hair and beard.
At that moment, the four people had already run towards the door of the house.
"It's Hershel, what happened, is he hurt?"
Hershel saw Guillermo unconscious on the stretcher at a glance, and the bright red blood on Guillermo's abdomen was particularly striking.
Shane had been holding a fire for a moment now, but now it finally stopped and exploded immediately.
"Are you Hershel, they shot our people! It was Otis who shot him!"
Hershel didn't argue with Shane, just stepped forward to check on Guilermo's wound.
"All right, come on inside and let's get him to a bed, I can check him over better." Harshel said quickly.
"Glenn, go get the backpack with the meds, we have plenty of stuff for this kind of situation." Airon said as they took Guillermo upstairs.
"Yeah, I got it."
After a while, Harshel said, "The internal organs and arteries are not injured, but minor surgery is needed to remove the shrapnel! I hear you have equipment here, I need to borrow it!"
"Yes, you can take what is needed, if you need anything else don't forget to tell me." Airon said seriously.
"Okay, I understand." After Harshel finished speaking, he turned around and walked into the room.
"If there's anything you want me to help with, you can tell me, I have a good pulse and I'm not afraid of blood." Airon said suddenly.
"Good, then I'll need your help." Harshel said with acceptance.
Taking advantage of the free time while washing his hands, Heshel still told Airon what was bothering him.
After washing his hands, Airon didn't seem worried and said with a smile, "Just do your best to save him, if I try to take him to my people, I'm afraid it will be too late."
As he thought, Hershel finished washing his hands, raised his hands and entered the room.
