Chapter 37: Feild trip
I remember last night, the whole thing plays out in my head like a movie. Unable to do anything and aware of what my body does the whole time without being able to do anything. I remember Tom's face as I held the stake to Vicki's chest, piercing her skin until I felt the bone. His expression contorted into something I'd never seen before
I never wanted any of this. If only I'd confided in him before that stupid seance. Grams told me to trust her, trust Emily and look what happened. She was going to kill Vicki, and all for what that stupid trinket. I don't know what to do now, everything is just too much.
I heard a ring from a phone and someone answered it. "Hello." It was Tom's voice, I slowly opened my eyes and I saw I was in a bed in a room that I didn't know. It was old and rustic, the room looked bare. "Yeah, I'll be there. No problem." Who was he talking to?
"You're up," Tom said, his voice low. I turned to see him sitting in a worn leather chair, a black book and a glass of whiskey on the table beside him. For a second, I wondered if he'd been watching me sleep.
He must have read my mind, because he shook his head. "I wasn't watching you, if that's what you're wondering," he said with a slight smile. "I just woke up when I got the call."
He looked at me and put away his book and asked, "How are you feeling?"
I got up and sat on his bed, "My head still hurts a little and I feel tired but not like before." He nodded. I looked around the room and asked, "What am I doing here?"
He got up from the chair and stretched his back, "I wanted to make sure that you were alright… If in any case Emily was back there could have been some problems. Vicki and Damon to name a few."
I looked down as I held my hands together and asked, "How's she?"
"Pissed…" He sat down on the chair again.
"I'm sorry, I should have told you."
looked at him, and he pressed his lips together. 'Yeah,' he said. 'But what's done is done. The good thing is, no one got hurt.
I nodded and sighed in relief, "Can I ask you something?"
He hummed and I asked, "Why are you being nice to me?" He tilted his head and I explained, "You were nice to me before I knew about you, then you kinda threatened me and now you're being nice again… I don't get it."
He looked at me and said, "I was always nice to you and that little warning I gave you was because you didn't understand what was on the line…People's lives are at stake here, Bonnie," Tom said, his voice tight. "Trust me, I don't want to drag you into this mess. Witches never get away from Vampires. It's a cycle and it's unbreakable, only thing you can do is put the money where your mouth is."
I looked at him and I think I understand it now, last night was scary but it'll keep happening and the only thing I can do is protect the people I care about. "You up." We looked at the door and it was Stefan.
He looked at me and asked, "How are you feeling?"
I nodded and said, "Good."
"Let's get you home…" Stefan looked at me and I got up from the Bed. I looked at Tommy as I was leaving and I stopped and said, "Thank you again." He nodded and I walked out the door with Stefan.
Stefan dropped me home and I went inside, it's a good thing I woke up early than most days. I was going to take a shower and while was undressing I felt a rustling noise coming from my dress pocket. I checked to see what it was and it was piece of parchment. I opened it and I remembered, it was the spell to create daylight ring.

(Tom's Pov)
I was in the kitchen making some eggs for me. Stefan came back home after dropping Bonnie home. I was a little confused to see him here right now. I asked, "Don't you have school today?"
He heard me and he appeared into the kitchen in a flash and said, "I'm not going anymore."
I stopped and looked at him, "Again? You're trying to run away again?"
He sat down on the chair and said, "We have caused enough suffering as it is… We should go."
I sighed and flipped the eggs and said, "You can go if you want to, I'm not going and neither is Damon… Maybe he'll keep Elena company while you're gone."
He stood up suddenly and said, "What?! Why? The amulet is destroyed, why is he staying? And why are you staying?"
I plated the eggs and put some bread in the pan and said, "We all have promises to keep, Stefan… And besides, I know you aren't going nowhere."
We heard the bell ring and I went to check who it was, Damon came down the stairs and asked, "Who's here so early?" I opened the door and it was the sheriff. My eyebrows arched and I asked, "I thought… Why are you here?"
She sighed and said, "I thought it would be more efficient if we all met here together." She looked at Damon and boy did he sell it. He looked at me and said, "You know?"
We all went outside and she asked, "Two of the three brothers, does Stefan know about it yet?"
We looked at each other and just shook our heads, She nodded and I said, "You called earlier about something serious. What was it?"
She sighed and said, "People have started to disappear again, the council is an uproar. We all thought that the girl we caught and who got taken out by the tornado was it but it seems we could be wrong."
I looked at Damon and the sheriff said, "It's an all hands on deck situation, we need to find this vampire as soon as we can."
Damon nodded and said, "We'll do anything we can."
I looked at her and asked, "Is there any pattern or anything you know about the disappearances, the victims anything will help narrow it down."
She looked at me and said, "I'll mail you the details as I get to the station and once again… I'm very thankful."
"No problem," Damon escorted the sheriff out of the house, and I entered. There, I found Stefan standing there, inquiring, "Who could it be?"
I folded my arms and said, "Don't know, but we need to find this guy soon and stake him."
Damon came back and smiled, "Well, it would be easy since we have the compass, the tough part is it doesn't work for us… So…" He turned to Stefan and he shook his head and said, "No, I'm not dragging Elena into this."
Damon sighed in frustration and smacked his hands together "Well, I wouldn't have to ask you if Tom hadn't given Caroline all that vervain bling, so Elena is the only game in town."
Stefan still wasn't convinced and denied it. I thought for a moment and said, "Not necessarily." They both looked at me and I said, "We can ask one more person."
