Chapter 1
Became a woman.
At first, I couldn’t properly accept this fact.
Why on earth did I become a woman?
Could there be someone like me?
How should I live from now on?
Various questions swirled chaotically in my mind, and the whirlwind of these questions threw my reason into disarray.
A day passed, then a week.
I ordered all my meals through delivery (I asked them to leave the food at the door).
Unable to adapt to the changes that befell me, I didn’t even play the games I used to enjoy, simply huddled in a corner, covering myself with a blanket to hide my figure.
But then, at some point, I began to think.
Is it really possible to spend my whole life hiding like this?
Sure, I could solve all my basic living needs through delivery.
But there would surely come a time when I would need my identity as Son Minwoo before I became a woman.
Who would ever think of me as Son Minwoo?
With that thought, the first thing that came to my mind was to find a new identity.
I searched around to find ways to acquire or launder a new identity and eventually managed to get in touch with a business called ‘Night Move.’
Night Move was a service that provided clients with a new identity and profession.
It was said that the more complicated someone’s relationships were, the more expensive it became.
Since I had no friends and no family, the process was quite smooth.
With the help of Night Move, I also managed to liquidate the inheritance and insurance left by my father.
Disposing of my old identity and acquiring a new one, along with the liquidation service, cost a whopping 1 billion won.
But I didn’t feel it was too expensive or wasteful at all.
In a way, it felt like I was finally liberated from my damn father forever.
I would shed the shell of Son Minwoo and live as someone else moving forward.
Even if that meant living as a woman.
*
“Phew… Is it finally over?”
I was now ‘Choi Nayun,’ and I sighed.
It hadn’t been long since I moved, yet here I was moving again.
But I didn’t feel any hardship.
In fact, it felt fulfilling.
The feeling of being completely freed from someone known as my father.
A sense of freedom that hadn’t filled me inside and out until now.
“The house is nice.”
The house prepared by Night Move was a single family home.
While I hated large spaces, that was mainly because cleaning was bothersome.
These days, it’s great that you can hire a cleaning service.
“I’m glad it’s not in Seoul.”
The rent in Seoul was so high.
Since my father’s house was in the metropolitan area, I wanted to live in a completely different region now that I was starting a new life.
Night Move respected my request, and so I received this place.
It was a single-family home located in Incheon Seogu.
As a recent building, the interior was nice.
It wasn’t overly flashy or anything, but the gentle atmosphere appealed to me.
“Hah… It’s finally over.”
I made my way to my room and threw myself onto the queen-sized bed.
The plushness that enveloped me from head to toe felt like I was melting away.
My first experience with Night Move was indeed a unique one.
“I had gender reassignment surgery and I want to discard my life as a man.”
What could be more unique than that?
Even now, recalling that time made my face flush and I wanted to hide in a mouse hole.
After indulging in the power of the queen-sized bed for a while, the feeling of boredom crept in.
I hadn’t been able to play games for a while due to various things, and my fingers were itching.
I got up from the bed and sat in a chair, moving my delicate hands to turn on the computer.
Vroom vroom vroom—
The noise from the computer, which I hadn’t heard in a while, made me feel at ease.
Even though I had become a woman, my daily life wouldn’t change.
What difference does my gender make?
The most important thing, ‘me,’ remains unchanged.
Anyway, the game I was going to play is League of Legends.
Commonly referred to as ‘Leori,’ it’s a national—no, a global game.
“Shall I warm up a bit?”
I was about to log in with my main account when I cleared the ID field and entered my secondary account ID.
Since I hadn’t played Leori for a month, it made more sense to warm up with my secondary account, which had a lower tier, rather than jumping straight into my main.
Logging into my secondary character, I checked the account information.
[Nayun Queen]
Rank / Diamond 3 75P
Originally, my secondary account’s tier was Diamond 2.
But now it stood at Diamond 3.
I had been placed in a dormancy category due to not playing for a month.
While this situation could be disappointing, the hidden matchmaking rating (MMR) in Leori’s ranked system was high, so it didn’t really matter.
As long as the matchmaking score is high, the rank can be raised quickly.
Moreover, the secondary account wasn’t meant for boosting tiers.
It was created to snipe streamers who streamed Leori or BJ (Broadcast Jockeys).
The upper echelon of the Diamond tier included famous BJs and streamers.
Streamers like the ADC Rights Activist or the retired pro gamer who became the King of Diamond, known as ‘Pata.’
Various renowned players occupied this upper Diamond tier, often referred to as the hell zone.
For someone like me, labeled as a ‘malicious player,’ this tier was nothing short of paradise.
I applied for a match, and it wasn’t long before I was paired up.
Upon accepting, a waiting room appeared where I could pick and ban.
Nayun Queen has entered the chat.
ADC Rights Activist Squad Leader has entered the chat.
Veteran Eom Jeong-sik has entered the chat.
Showdown has entered the chat.
The Lonely Gourmet has entered the chat.
My gaze shifted to the entry messages visible in the chat room, and they were all intriguing usernames.
Two of them were openly malicious, while the others were named players.
The Lonely Gourmet was the username of the popular Leori streamer ‘Curry.’
Showdown was the mid-laner for the team that won this year’s World Championship.
When I searched his record, I found out Showdown was indeed the real deal.
‘Is he grinding ranked after coming back to Korea?’
Generally, you don’t see pro gamers in this tier.
It seems the timing was just right.
The problem was that Showdown, who had been assigned the position, was ‘Support.’
He was a player who wielded significant influence within Leori as the mid-laner.
A legendary player who had turned the library of Shanghai, where the World Championship was held, into his own.
Except for Showdown, the other members of the team were assigned to their main positions.
Curry was the typical top champ streamer.
The ADC Rights Activist was the marksman.
The maliciously lengthy username was the jungler.
And finally, I was in mid.
The Lonely Gourmet: “How about giving mid to the 5-pick?”
Curry typed in the chat, seeking my opinion.
It was obvious he wanted to send Showdown to mid to farm some views off me.
I moved my mouse to access Curry’s stream, and his greasy hair popped up first.
“Come on, Nayun, please… just help me out this once.”
It was rather funny to hear such a plea, but if I were someone who would entertain such a small favor, I wouldn’t be labeled as ‘malicious’ in the first place.
[Nayun help me! Nayun help me! Nayun help me! Nayun help me! Nayun help me! Nayun help me! Nayun help me! Nayun help me!]
[Wow, it’s Showdown, and he won’t give up the lane?]
[Hyung Sang-su needs to make that guy into a library in Shanghai!]
[What? Is he famous?]
The reaction in the chat room towards me was also cold.
Well, I was just a loser who only snipes, and they were World Championship winners.
But that’s that and this is this.
-Adventure is definitely more exciting when it’s with friends!
“AHHHH!!! You little sh*t, Nayun!!”
As I picked Nana and Willump, curses automatically flew from Curry’s mouth.
[You’re screwed… you’re screwed… you’re screwed… you’re screwed… you’re screwed… you’re screwed… you’re screwed… you’re screwed… you’re screwed… you’re screwed…]
[Once you get purification and ghost, it’ll be perfect.]
[Vroom vroom, a very tiny snowball~]
[As expected of a vicious sniper recognized by 0-gun!]
[How could you send mid Nana? LOL]
[I’m gonna take down Curry, who took down Nayun Queen, who took down Nana… that’s all I could think about from the start!]
The reason I was known as ‘malicious’ among Leori streamers was simple.
I couldn’t resist playing mid with mid champions even though my main position was mid.
After finishing the picks, I analyzed our current selection of champions.
The opposing mid was the AD Assassin champion known as Zard.
Nana was originally Zard’s counter, but the developers of Goliath Games had butchered that trend with a patch that prevented the use of mid Nana.
Back then, Nana’s mid was no longer usable due to that patch.
Unless someone had an adequate love and mastery for Nana, they wouldn’t be able to handle her anymore.
ADC Rights Activist: “If you’re going to play support, just pick Garen.”
As I pondered about Zard and Nana’s matchup, we soon reached the last picks.
When Showdown placed ‘Brando’ as his portrait, our 4th pick went for ‘Garen.’
Garen was a melee champion without a mobility skill, truly the original walking champion.
Selecting him in a long-range fighting environment in the bot lane?
That was like declaring a surrender, an open act of war.
“No way, chill out, 4th pick.”
Curry must have felt the ‘sincerity’ of the 4th pick as well, as he spoke to calm him down in a trembling voice.
[The saying goes, one of five must be trash is false, Jirob-sensei…]
[How can we have three actors among five members? LOL]
[One of them retired and came back, though.]
[That’s just malicious!]
[Shall we prepare for the ‘Curry fragrant Buster Call,’ Master?]
[The Korean Diamond player giving a jab to Showdown… just SLAP IT UP!!!]
With just 10 seconds left until the final pick, Showdown ultimately picked the iconic damage support, Brando.
“My sword and heart are Demacian’s!”
“YOU CRAZY BASTARD!!!!”
The ADC Rights Activist kicked off his own ‘human rights movement.’
[The game has begun.]
