[C3]A serious talk.
There wasn't much room for privacy inside of their small shitty apartment. There was one slightly larger room that acted as both kitchen and living room, A bathroom or, more accurately, a shower room, and 2 extra rooms, one of which acted as Max's bed chamber and the other as their mother's bed chamber.
His sister was often in his if she could behave, and if not, Max would simply kick her out, Making her end up in her mother's bedroom, which technically was hers too. At least originally, that was.
So, with limited space, her mother gave her sister a meaningful look, after which she stood up, but Max interrupted her.
" It's alright... I don't mind. "
She gave their mother a somewhat pleading gaze and, after receiving a nod from her sat back down. She immediately tried cuddling up against her brother who was seated next to her, in an act of support which got her a stern look from their mother. So she separated herself from him although with a pout.
Their mother usually never cared about her clinginess, so Max immediately knew she was serious, As far as being serious for her went, at least. So he immediately stood up and said.
" I'm getting an aspirin first, Sounds like I'll be needing it. "
After he made his way to the kitchen, Got a hold of an aspirin, and gulped it down with a glass of water, he was once again seated.
There was an awkward silence in the room as Max waited for his mother to start and although it took a little for her to get her bearings together, she eventually started.
" Max.... Yesterday at... That place, The drinking... It's something your father used to do when it all went downhill... He wouldn't have wanted for you to "
Yet before she could even finish her sentence, Max interrupted her with a cold voice
" He isn't my father! "
Max was in a pretty bad mood from losing his job, Had a gigantic headache, and was now reminded of their dead father who as far as he considered, Abandoned them. He couldn't take it and simply blew up.
His mother's eyes turned moist, and she spoke.
"T, That's not fair. Although you two weren't blood-related, He did love you.... "
Yet Max only responded, Equally cold.
"It's a good thing we aren't blood-related..... I lost my job yesterday, I took it out on drinking... Sounds familiar, huh? Yeah, that's right, That worthless piece of shit did that as well. Yet when I was out there gulping down that crap to just.. Forget, For just a moment, I saw a wooden railing that was rotten down.... For a moment, Just a moment, I thought,' What if '......."
His mother gasped out in shock, She had a bad feeling about where this was going.
" What if I fell down? It's the government's responsibility to maintain that crap..... Would a damage claim in regards to losing your son be able to cover your debt?.... YET THAT THOUGHT WAS OUT OF MY MIND AS SOON AS IT CAME. "
By now, his mother had broken down crying, and Max similarly cried his eyes out; he was just feeling too many emotions right now. Too many fucked up shit had happened and continued to happen. His voice was broken as tears streamed down his face. He calmed down after his initial outburst, and his voice grew softer, Weaker, less.... Spiritful.
"Unlike him, When I was thinking about it.... I thought about you all, and I decided that whatever debt we could work off wasn't worth it.... I love you all, and I refused to go just like that... Don't compare me to him... He left us like that, The least the bastard could do was divorce you and take half of the debt with him before he killed himself. That way, he could've made himself useful for once."
His mother by now couldn't take it anymore, As much as she loved her son and appreciated his decision to remain with them, as it was clearly the better choice. She couldn't help but get overwhelmed by emotions, As wrong as her husband's choice was, she still loved him... She loved him enough to remain with him through everything... Even though her boss offered to help her out and take care of her instead if she was willing to become his. Yet she didn't, for she truly loved that man even after he killed himself, she refused to give herself to another, and when that boss got too touchy, she left.
Yet here her son was calling him out for abandoning them, For all that he did, and deep down, she knew he was right. But love makes blind, and she refused to see it that way and instead ran to her room crying.
Max to was worked up and decided to make his way towards his own room, leaving his sister in an awkward position, Not sure about who to console. Yet just like her mom loved her father, she too loves his..... Brother.
So she chose to ran after him.
Yet Max was already in his room. Overwhelmed by emotions, he couldn't help but cry out.
' I want to get out of here. '
Thinking about it he suddenly heard a question within his head.

Yet before he could even think about what to do, his sister joined him in his room and ran into him, Hugging him. Max cried out and hugged her back, and after shifting his attention to his sister, the previous prompt disappeared, As if it was never there to begin with.
