Chapter 66
Chapter 66: Counselor [Extra Update]
For Ning Chu, the long holiday only made him more nervous.
He couldn’t let Wen Yang go out alone, so he ended up following him to sunbathe and get a part-time job, being tricked into dressing as a maid at a café.
Zhang Shaoqing also had his own problems, leaving Ning Chu exhausted both mentally and physically these past two days.
But thankfully, everything was over now, and Wen Yang only wanted to play games in the dorm… apart from that once again expanding chest.
Early in the morning, Ning Chu anxiously threw on a jacket.
He rubbed his tired eyes and sighed as he sat down in front of the computer.
The movement of his chest wasn’t too conspicuous, it was just that small red bean that was a bit too eye-catching.
In the dorm, it was manageable, since the air conditioning was on and his roommates somewhat noticed his oddity; wearing a jacket could solve the problem. But in class, he worried that if he went out wearing a jacket in this hot weather, he’d faint from heatstroke in no time.
“Yo~ You’re so weak!”
Zhang Shaoqing had just finished smoking on the balcony, and when he entered the room, he spotted Ning Chu’s jacket and started teasing, “Is it that time of the month? So scared of the cold?”
Ning Chu had long learned to take such teasing with a grain of salt. He discovered that getting angry at this thick-skinned guy was useless, so it was better to just ignore him.
Without turning his head, he continued watching the anime on the screen.
In his previous life, what was considered fanservice here had become quite normal. He had to admit, the perks for men were pretty great.
“Can you keep it down early in the morning?” Wen Yang, who was awakened by Zhang Shaoqing’s noise, yawned and stretched, looking down at the floor, “Ning Chu, have you had breakfast? You still need to take your medicine.”
“No.”
“Should I go to the cafeteria and bring you something?”
Ning Chu glanced up at him, but before he could say anything, Wen Yang sighed and nodded, “Got it, not going on a date.”
“What a great house husband you are!”
“I’m just worried he’ll get scammed.” Ning Chu replied coldly, “He’s too honest, and there are so many girls chasing him; if he isn’t careful, he could end up scammed for money or worse.”
“Ah, right, right, you’re totally right.”
Zhang Shaoqing was really infuriating!
Suddenly, he realized that this guy’s shy side was actually a bit more likable!
Ning Chu shot him a fierce glare.
But to Zhang Shaoqing, it seemed like he was being praised, and his grin only got wider.
I seriously suspect this guy might be a masochist!
Wen Yang agreed with Ning Chu; he indeed had a more introverted personality and was easily flustered by girls. As for getting scammed physically, he didn’t really mind; in the end, who could say who was at a loss?
But scammed for money was serious!
“What do you want to eat?”
He asked while leaning against the bed railing, effortlessly flipping over to stand firmly on his feet in less than a second.
That height of around 1.67 meters was no difficulty for him.
Ning Chu caught a glimpse of his movement out of the corner of his eye and smirked slightly.
He envied Wen Yang’s physique and physical capabilities! He could get out of bed looking so cool!
Imagining himself doing the same, he’d most likely end up face-planting on the floor and landing himself in the hospital.
“Let’s have noodle dumplings; remember to add vinegar, a lot!”
“Okay.”
Wen Yang went to wash up on the balcony, and in just a few minutes, he was ready to head out in his slippers.
However, just as he opened the door, he heard Ning Chu shout from behind, “Oh! And get me two boxes of band-aids!”
“Where did you get hurt?” Wen Yang turned back, looking tense.
“No, just in case.”
“Alright, I’ll swing by the supermarket on the way.”
Watching Wen Yang’s figure as he left, Ning Chu sighed softly.
There was no way to camouflage the mountains on his chest, but he could think of a way to deal with that glaring little red bean. Surely he couldn’t seriously go buy a bra and wear it in the dorm, right?
Like using band-aids… Apparently, that’s a little trick girls often use to avoid wardrobe malfunctions when wearing dresses.
Zhang Shaoqing rushed over to Ning Chu’s side.
He couldn’t sit still, leaning against the wardrobe, holding a little mirror to admire his freshly dyed black hair, asking, “Where are we going to play today? Staying in the dorm is driving me crazy.”
“Play… I can’t think of anywhere fun to go.”
Ning Chu really didn’t want to go out.
What if he ran into a creep? What if Wen Yang was lured away by some girl again? What if…
“Classes start the day after tomorrow! We need to relax a bit~ How about a massage? Last time I had it all booked, then you bailed on me.”
“Not going!”
“Then how about we go to the Pingdingshan Scenic Area? There’s a paragliding base there! Also, bungee jumping, roller coasters!”
“Don’t… I’m afraid of heights.”
“How about a water park?”
“I’m afraid of water.”
Zhang Shaoqing frowned in annoyance: “You’re really picky! Fine, I’ll go with Wen Yang; you can stay in the dorm and mope!”
“……”
Ning Chu pursed his lips disinterestedly. In any case, if he didn’t go, Wen Yang probably wouldn’t go either.
Even if he wanted to, with how he had been recently overseeing Wen Yang, a single word from him would be enough.
His phone suddenly vibrated lightly, and he looked down at the lit-up screen.
“Han Jingye?”
Zhang Shaoqing leaned in to look at his phone: “What does the counselor want with you?”
“How would I know?”
Ning Chu began to worry. Although the counselor seemed upright and dedicated now, he had been the one who had stepped in during Lin Li’s crisis, preventing Wen Yang from being lured away by a bad woman.
But in the plot, this guy wasn’t a good person at all; Ning Chu really didn’t want to get involved with Han Jingye.
Nevertheless, he picked up his phone and reluctantly opened the message.
It was a @everyone message, listing recent activities, competitions. Han Jingye required every student to participate in at least one this semester.
Ning Chu scanned it casually; it included the sports meeting, New Year’s welcome party, provincial essay competition, design contest, basketball games…
“Hmm, not interested in any of them.” Zhang Shaoqing spat out what Ning Chu was thinking, “Is this guy for real? What an idiot of a counselor?”
“Indeed, seriously messed up.”
Who forces someone to participate in things, right?
Any bit of fondness Ning Chu had for Han Jingye evaporated instantly; this guy was just as bad as those in the stories!
Ning Chu didn’t like to curse, but he was cursing inwardly as well.
He was currently busy disrupting the plot; he didn’t have time for these pointless activities!
“Choose your activity now, and you can come to me to register. If you have other issues, feel free to discuss it with me privately.”
Han Jingye sent another message, and the usually lively class group was dead silent.
“Idiot!”
Then Ning Chu saw a familiar avatar send two words in the group.
He turned to Zhang Shaoqing, who looked innocently back at him: “He really is an idiot.”
Looking back at the group, Wen Yang also chimed in with a “+1”.
Wow, aren’t you guys making the counselor mad?
Ning Chu happily typed out: “+2”.
The class group fell silent again, and the three of them in the dorm were muted for a month.
“You three, come to my office.”
