Trapped in Paradise

Chapter 63

Chapter 63: The Gentle Trap

“39.5 degrees, that should be considered a high fever, right?”

“Let’s check the clinic first; if it doesn’t work, we have to go to the hospital.”

Ning Chu had gotten out of bed, weakly sitting in front of the computer. He sniffed the air with his keen nose, casting a suspicious glance at Wen Yang beside him. He leaned forward, pressing his nose against Wen Yang’s waist, taking a few careful sniffs.

Wen Yang took two steps back silently; that position was too close to his lower abdomen, especially when those juicy, plump lips came close—awkward and full of imagination.

“It smells like a fox!”

“……”

Ning Chu squinted and suddenly reached out, pinching a long strand of green hair from the folds of Wen Yang’s clothes.

“You were only gone for five minutes!”

Look at him, so energetic; he doesn’t seem to have a fever at all.

Wen Yang helplessly shook his head, “I ran into Lin Li.”

“Lin Li?! What does that sly fox want this time?!”

Isn’t the plot related to Lin Li already over? That girl is just a passerby now!

But she still won’t forget about Wen Yang!

This is bad! If a plot is triggered, Ning Chu could react according to the storyline, but if it’s a passerby character, he can only passively hope for Wen Yang’s self-discipline.

He raised his head, glaring angrily at Wen Yang with his big eyes: “Did you promise her something?!”

“No, I hurried back.” Wen Yang shook his head, a hint of fear on his face, “That woman drugged me before; how could I promise her anything?”

“If there wasn’t a lack of evidence, I would’ve wanted to call the police.”

“Really?”

You actually believe Lin Li has ulterior motives towards you? Just like those twins at the bar, did you really think they were just buying drinks?

How naive…

No wonder he’s a virgin.

Ning Chu sighed in relief and then lay on the table, immediately returning to his weak, powerless state.

“I wonder how Shaoqing is doing.” Right now, he was most worried about Zhang Shaoqing, who had gone missing; that guy might be out there doing something sneaky.

“Don’t worry about him; he’s a grown man; what could happen?”

“Isn’t it you who often gets into trouble?”

“I-I don’t, do I?” Wen Yang turned to search the corner for an umbrella, preparing to go out, “Where’s the dormitory umbrella? It’s gone!”

The umbrellas in the dorm always seem to mysteriously disappear. After rummaging for a while, he finally found a folding umbrella in Wang Jie’s drawer.

He walked back to Ning Chu with the umbrella: “Let’s go to the medical room.”

“Uh-huh.” Ning Chu knew he needed to get his state in order; otherwise, letting Wen Yang act alone while Zhang Shaoqing might darken could mean he’d end up with boys left and right in less than a week.

With this high fever, he might not even be able to run away.

Propping himself up on the table, Ning Chu stood up, furrowing his brows tightly. With each breath, he could feel the hot airflow coursing through him; his brain felt dizzy, and his body was soft and weak.

He lowered his head and shook it lightly, barely gathering his spirits to follow behind Wen Yang.

Before they even left the dorm, Wen Yang turned his head to look at Ning Chu, who had pale lips, furrowed brows, and looked as if he would collapse with the wind.

That weak willow-by-the-wind look would tug at any man’s heartstrings.

“Umbrella.” He handed the folding umbrella to Ning Chu without hesitation, then turned his back to him and squatted down.

Ning Chu thought he was tying his shoelaces and walked past him in a daze.

“Why are you going around?” Wen Yang chuckled, “Jump on.”

“Huh?”

“I’ll carry you.”

Ning Chu’s pupils dilated, stepping back two paces and shaking his head in refusal: “No need, I can walk just fine.”

Even though his brain was a bit muddled from the fever, he wasn’t stupid.

Their friendship had already shown signs of capsizing; he didn’t plan to have any physical contact with Wen Yang!

“Quit yapping, hurry up.”

“I’ll walk myself.”

Ning Chu opened the door, glancing at the drizzle outside: “Is this the only umbrella? What about the others?”

“Yeah, I can’t find any more. If I carry you, you can hold the umbrella for both of us.”

“Then you can just get soaked in the rain! I’m the patient.”

He shook his head again, his body leaning to one side, but he managed to steady himself by holding onto the wall. The uncomfortable fever was becoming more intense.

Wen Yang frowned, noticing Ning Chu’s discomfort, and could only threaten, “Come here, I’ll carry you. Otherwise, I’ll just princess-carry you directly.”

“You wouldn’t want to be princess-carried by another man in school, would you? What if classmates see?”

“……”

Ning Chu was left speechless; last time he had a heatstroke, this guy princess-carried him without saying a word, and clearly, Wen Yang was capable of doing the same again.

With no other choice, he leaned forward, wrapping his arms around Wen Yang’s neck, hesitatingly resting his body against Wen Yang’s back.

A warm, soft body pressed lightly against him; Wen Yang’s breath halted for half a second.

It felt no different than a girl’s body, right?

He carefully supported Ning Chu’s thighs, effortlessly standing up.

His body felt soft all over, very light, exuding a refreshing scent of a young girl, especially the two soft mounds felt at his back, impossible to ignore.

It didn’t look obvious from a distance, but felt particularly clear up close.

Definitely not the so-called chest muscles; chest muscles aren’t that soft!

Could it possibly be a girl?

Ning Chu’s hot breath fell onto his neck, and Wen Yang’s neck flushed a rosy hue, gradually turning his face awkwardly red.

Fearing being recognized by classmates, Ning Chu buried his head in Wen Yang’s neck, looking down.

It wasn’t that he hadn’t been carried before, but this time felt especially embarrassing.

His ears turned bright red; he couldn’t tell if it was from the fever.

Fortunately, it was a holiday, and there weren’t many students around in the dormitory building. Until they left, they didn’t encounter any classmates.

“Open the umbrella.”

“Uh-huh, take it slow…”

“Don’t worry.”

Ning Chu opened the umbrella with one hand, as Wen Yang walked steadily and slowly out from under the eaves, each step as smooth as possible to avoid jostling him.

The rain brought a rare coolness in summer; he realized it was nearly impossible to encounter classmates on the way, so he lifted his head, resting his chin on Wen Yang’s shoulder, gazing at the faint rain curtain outside the umbrella, looking at this world shrouded in rain.

From Wen Yang emanated a comforting scent, making him unconsciously take a deep breath.

It felt as if his feverish body became a little more comfortable.

But he quickly realized his mistake, pursing his lips and reminding himself that Wen Yang was his primary point of caution, not a source of warmth and comfort where he could easily fall into a trap!

That was close; almost drowned in the male lead’s gentle trap!

“Haven’t you had breakfast or lunch yet? After the medical room, shall we go to the cafeteria together?”

“Uh-huh.”
