Chapter 262
Chapter 262: Hypnosis Spray
As Nana stepped into the cramped self-built building where the rental apartment was located, her nerves tightened at the narrow steps and hallway.
Ning Chu glanced back at Nana, her cute little face filled with timidness naturally evoking a strong urge to protect her. But she stayed indifferent, even harboring a mischievous desire to give Nana a good scare.
She held back her impulse; teasing someone she had just met would ruin the good impression Nana had of her.
“We’re here.”
At the end of the hallway was a window. Ning Chu casually opened it to let the corridor air out as she unlocked the door and rubbed her heels together to take off her shoes.
“Shoes off on the rack by the door.”
She pushed the door open and rushed straight to the bathroom. “You sit down, I’ll be right back!”
“You…” Nana froze for a moment, watching as Ning Chu darted into the bathroom, hesitantly stepping into the rental apartment.
With the door half ajar, she put on some slippers, nervously glancing around the apartment’s furnishings.
Some rather shabby dolls were neatly placed on the TV cabinet and table, not cute at all; the blanket on the bed was a bit messy, and there was a cat litter box, but no cat to be seen.
Nana felt like she had entered a tiger’s den.
A faint metallic smell wafted from the direction of the bathroom, and she paused, her previous worry about Ning Chu being a fake girl now evaporating.
That familiar scent of Aunt Flow…
Wow, heavy flow…
Nana felt relieved and sat down on the sofa, hands resting on her thighs, looking very obedient.
But that hypnosis spray? It sounded so much like something one would find in a doujinshi.
“Hey~ why didn’t you close the door properly?”
Ning Chu emerged from the bathroom in her slippers and walked straight to close the door.
She caught a glimpse of Nana’s expression looking at her, the evident wariness having decreased significantly, probably due to the scent from when she changed her sanitary napkin.
Her cheeks flushed a bit. Even though she knew this was a normal physiological phenomenon that shouldn’t be shameful, she had been a woman for such a short time.
Heading over to the bed, Ning Chu pulled out the hypnosis spray she had snatched from Zhang Shaoqing.
She kept it under her pillow, just in case she ever played around with Wen Yang one night, needing a chance to resist instead of being pinned down by that towering guy at six foot three.
But if she got all worked up then too…
Not proactively eating Wen Yang alive was already a sign of her preserving her sanity.
Ning Chu sat at the edge of the bed, showing the small spray bottle in her hand to Nana. “It works pretty much like you think.”
“!!”
Nana’s face immediately tensed up, her little face looking anxious.
“But I only use it for self-defense! Doing that kind of stuff is illegal, okay!” Ning Chu sighed helplessly. “When you’re hypnotized, you might feel a bit uncomfortable, but don’t panic. We’re both girls; what can I do to you?”
“What will it feel like…”
Ning Chu recalled the state when Zhang Shaoqing ambushed her with hypnosis, and her expression immediately soured.
“Your body won’t be under your control, but your mind will be very active… it’ll make you quite uneasy.”
She pressed her lips together to explain, “It’ll feel like being a piece of meat on a chopping board, just waiting to be slaughtered…”
The phenomenon of sleep paralysis, where one can’t control their body, already scares a lot of people to panic, let alone being hypnotized and seeing their body act against their will.
Hearing her description, Nana got even more apprehensive.
“But don’t worry, it only lasts five to ten minutes, not too long.”
Ning Chu lifted the spray. “Wanna try?”
“I…”
She explained, “I don’t know if I can make it work, but it should still hypnotize your subconscious to help you not be afraid of men.”
Nana looked down anxiously, intertwining her fingers, silent.
It was their first meeting, and although Ning Chu left a good impression, she couldn’t wholeheartedly trust being hypnotized.
“Um… what if we skip this?” she murmured nervously.
“Really gonna skip it?” Ning Chu casually set the spray down. “Then don’t keep pursuing Wen Yang!”
This little bottle wasn’t worth wasting on Nana.
If Nana’s attempt to get close to Wen Yang was to cure her fear of men, and not because she was an easy woman like other supporting characters, Ning Chu wouldn’t be so eager to help.
“Is he really your boyfriend?”
Ning Chu nodded vigorously without hesitation. “Yes!”
“I wasn’t planning on pursuing him…”
She rubbed her empty stomach; she hadn’t eaten for half a day and felt dizzy from hunger.
Wen Yang had promised he’d bring her breakfast after leaving the hospital, but because of this girl in front of him, he had run back without bringing anything.
“Think it over; I’m hungry.”
Ning Chu understood Nana’s hesitation. If it were her, she wouldn’t be keen on someone trying to hypnotize her either… unless it was during some steamy scene, then maybe she’d be a bit excited.
“Want to eat? How about Some Shaxian snacks?”
“Uh-huh.”
She ordered from the nearby Shaxian restaurant and leaned against the wall, curling one leg up, turning to ask Nana, “Haven’t you seen a psychologist?”
“My parents said I’m not sick… just being melodramatic.”
“Oh~”
What era are we in?! Still so stubborn parents?
Ning Chu suddenly felt grateful her mother was quite open-minded, even if sometimes a bit too open-minded for her taste.
“Being afraid of men shouldn’t affect your life that much, though. Why rush to fix it?”
With time to kill while waiting for the takeout, she casually asked, quenching her curiosity.
Nana paused, still looking down at her nails. “I want to be a bit independent, earn some money.”
“Mm?”
“My mom doesn’t dare to divorce, not just because of me; it’s probably more about her not being financially independent. She’s always been a stay-at-home mom.”
Ning Chu frowned, suddenly not wanting to talk about that topic anymore, simply responding with an “oh,” without pushing for more details.
Nana had a toothpaste-like personality; without squeezing her for more info, she fell silent and kept playing with her nails on the sofa.
The takeout arrived in just twenty minutes, delivered personally by the owner.
Ning Chu took the food, ready to eat, but suddenly heard Nana’s voice.
“Go ahead and hypnotize me.”
“Have you thought about it? Not worried I might do something to you?”
“Not worried anymore.”
“Alright.”
She pulled the spray from her pocket, aiming it at Nana’s face, a bit nervous as this was the first time she was using it on a girl: “You ready?”
“Mm.”
She gently pressed the small spray bottle, and as the mist settled on Nana’s face, her expression gradually turned blank.
The hypnosis was successful.
At this point, whatever she asked Nana to do, that girl would comply without hesitation.
Take off her clothes, bark like a dog, or even in one sentence have Nana act… you know…
Ning Chu wasn’t exactly pure, especially since the hypnosis plot she wrote about Zhang Shaoqing was her own invention. But the thought flashed through her mind and was quickly tossed aside.
Taking a deep breath, theoretically, the hypnosis spray should solve Nana’s problem.
“Nana, from now on, you won’t be afraid of men anymore.”
“You will be filled with confidence, no longer timid, and able to do what you want.”
“That should work, right… you should remain like this for about five more minutes; I’ll eat.”
Ning Chu mumbled, taking a couple bites of her fried noodles, then her gaze gradually dazed out, her body becoming immobile.
Holy cow! The hypnosis spray just fell into the food!
Thank goodness Wen Yang wasn’t around!
