Volume 1 Chapter 155: Dormitory
“Kids! Your dad is back!”
Early in the morning, the dormitory door was kicked open, and Zhang Shaoqing swaggered into the room.
“Damn! Coming back to the dorm feels like coming home!”
He turned back to close the gate outside the dorm to keep Black Bean from sneaking out and getting lost, then quickly scanned the room.
“Why is no one responding to me?”
He looked up at Ning Chu, who was sitting on the bed with an expression that screamed “social withdrawal,” and asked, “Hey! Where’s Wen Yang?”
“In the bathroom.”
“Then your husband isn’t missing. Why the long face?”
“…”
Zhang Shaoqing mumbled as he walked to the bedside, standing on tiptoes to dangle a bag of breakfast in front of Ning Chu. “Want some? Rice rolls from a vendor outside the school.”
Ning Chu glanced at it briefly, yawned, and shook her head.
“You’re weird.”
All she could think about was how to get through the days when Wen Yang wouldn’t be around.
Since arriving here, she had never been apart from Wen Yang for an extended time. The thought of his impending departure left her feeling restless and uneasy.
Somewhere along the way, it seemed she had grown dependent on Wen Yang.
Hugging her knees with both hands, Ning Chu rested her chin on them, curling up into a ball.
This wasn’t how it was supposed to be… She wasn’t exactly a strong and independent woman in the past, but she had at least been self-reliant. Now, she was nothing like that.
“Back so early?” Wen Yang stepped in from the balcony, casually greeting Zhang Shaoqing.
“Yeah, here—rice rolls. Ning Chu didn’t want any, so you can have more.”
“Alright.”
Wen Yang took two portions from Zhang Shaoqing, then turned to Ning Chu. “Are you sure you don’t want any?”
Ning Chu quickly perked up and waved her hand nonchalantly. “I don’t like rice rolls; you eat them.”
“Skipping breakfast might give you low blood sugar.”
“Then go to the cafeteria and get me something else?”
“Sure.”
As soon as Wen Yang left the dorm, Ning Chu wilted again, gloomily scrolling through her phone with a withdrawn look.
Zhang Shaoqing glanced back at her and grumbled, “Are you just giving me attitude on purpose?”
She simply didn’t want to seem too dejected in front of Wen Yang.
That would make her look like she truly couldn’t live without him.
“Hey! Ning Chu.” Zhang Shaoqing suddenly pulled something out of his pocket with exaggerated excitement. “I went to a wedding yesterday and found another treasure!”
“!!!”
What the heck! Another prop from the villain?
She hadn’t even had a chance to use that hypnosis spray yet!
Ning Chu immediately sat up straight on the bed, leaning forward with a tense expression as she stared at him. “What is it?”
“Gotcha!” Zhang Shaoqing opened his clenched hand to reveal… nothing.
“…”
How childish could he be? He was like a little boy in elementary school who enjoyed teasing girls.
Ning Chu gave him an exasperated glare. “You’re impossible.”
But his antics did improve her mood a bit.
Anyway, Wen Yang’s leave wasn’t until next week. Who knows? He might decide not to go after all.
She should be more concerned about whether Wen Yang would encounter any plot-triggering events while fetching breakfast.
The thought had barely crossed her mind when her expression froze.
A sudden surge of heat ignited in her lower abdomen, and her face turned a rosy shade of pink as her skin flushed crimson.
Oh no!
She quickly lay down on the bed and burrowed under the blanket, biting her lip and gripping the covers tightly in an effort to calm herself.
Luckily, the punishment wasn’t too severe this time, likely because she had released some tension before. She could handle it.
“Wen Yang…”
Ning Chu gritted her teeth, enduring the ordeal.
She should have been more worried about the unpredictable punishments when Wen Yang wasn’t around!
This time, she was fortunate to be on the bed, where she could hide under the blanket. Next time, she might not be so lucky!
Living with Wen Yang had conditioned him to instantly reject advances from other girls, which often left her inadvertently triggering punishments herself.
“Hey! Ning Chu, what do you want for lunch? Let’s hit the discount minimum.”
Zhang Shaoqing’s voice broke her train of thought as he leaned over to look at her bed. “I saw a new place open. Want to try it out for lunch?”
“…”
There was no way she could respond right now.
If she spoke, her voice would undoubtedly sound sweet and sultry, instantly giving away her situation.
Alone with Zhang Shaoqing, who knew what he might do if he noticed something was off…
“Damn it! Ignoring me again!”
Muttering complaints, Zhang Shaoqing sat down at his computer. “I even went out of my way to bring you breakfast, and you don’t eat or talk to me.”
“Hey! Wen Yang’s getting hit on by a girl at the cafeteria!” he suddenly shouted.
“…”
Still no reaction from Ning Chu. Zhang Shaoqing shook his head and returned to his computer, grumbling.
About ten minutes later, Wen Yang returned with Ning Chu’s breakfast.
“Got you some braised noodles. Come down and eat.” He placed the food on the table and turned to Zhang Shaoqing. “By the way, I paid the electric bill yesterday. Send me fifty.”
“Got it. By the way, check on Ning Chu. She didn’t respond to me earlier.”
Wen Yang glanced at the bed, where Ning Chu peeked her flushed, adorable face out from under the blanket.
She looked fine to him.
“Come down and eat.”
“Okay.”
The punishment had passed, but Ning Chu hesitated, worried the watermarks on her backside might be noticed. Slowly, she climbed down, her feet reaching for the ladder.
She glanced at Zhang Shaoqing, who was facing away at his computer, and seized the chance to climb down quickly.
“Damn! Did you wet the bed or something?”
The teasing remark made Ning Chu freeze. Her mind went blank.
Oh no!
But Wen Yang reacted quickly, stepping behind her to block Zhang Shaoqing’s view and providing a plausible explanation. “Spilled water on the bed, maybe?”
“Yeah, that’s right!”
Ning Chu cast a grateful look at Wen Yang, grabbed a pair of pants under his cover, and dashed to the bathroom.
Wen Yang had clearly seen the marks on her back… but considering she had already been intimate with him, this level of embarrassment was bearable.
Besides, Wen Yang knew about her succubus nature and could understand her situation.
“Changing pants in the bathroom? What a hassle.”
Wen Yang glanced back at Zhang Shaoqing, who was muttering under his breath, but remained tense.
Feigning casualness, he tested the waters with Zhang Shaoqing. “Shaoqing, do you think Ning Chu could actually be a girl?”
“You’ve read too many smut novels, huh? Or are you into crossdressers now?”
Wen Yang finally breathed a sigh of relief.
This guy liked to joke about Ning Chu being a girl or tease about sending him to Thailand, but he clearly hadn’t realized Ning Chu was actually a girl.
And a succubus at that…
Wen Yang rubbed his temples in frustration.
Wasn’t a succubus only supposed to go into heat once every few days? Why was Ning Chu having episodes almost daily?
And living in a boys’ dorm—this was way too dangerous.
If Zhang Shaoqing or Wang Jie ever found out the truth and had thoughts about Ning Chu…
That was absolutely unacceptable!
