Chapter 271: Chapter 271:Underwater [1]
Then, in a fluid and graceful motion, Ren struck his dagger upwards, activating the stick of dynamite.
Propelling himself off the bottom of the island, Ren surged downwards to the ocean floor.
At the same time, the dynamite exploded, causing a bout of damaged rock to fall into the ocean.
As the rock descended into the ocean, causing a massive splash, Ren slowly ascended again.
Seeing a big hole in the bottom of the island created by the dynamite explosion, Ren emerged from the water.
Peeking his head up through the hole, Ren slowly raised himself upward with his hand.
Thankfully, the floor wasn't covered with any steel, so Ren could manifest a corrupted shovel and start digging his way upward.

Right now, the principal should be defending the incoming djinns attempting to rob, so the vault was completely free to take.
Ren had to make a slight alteration to his plans upon seeing the two variables, in the form of recruiters, emerge.
Instead of attacking at the first possible moment to catch everyone off guard, Ren had decided to emerge at the last possible moment.
Making a big enough hole in the island, Ren raised his legs out of the water before lying down.
Staring up at the massive amount of stone separating him from the vault, Ren sighed.
Picking up his shovel, Ren slowly... but surely dug upwards.
At this point, using explosions or any other powers to speed up the process would be impossible.
The first explosion worked as the metal wall prevented the sound from reaching the vault area.
And the sound of the last explosion had been dampened by the water, but if Ren used any explosions now, they would surely be noticed.
Manifesting a corrupted pickaxe, Ren placed it in his other hand before switching tools.s
For the dirt, he would use the shovel, and for the stone, he would use the pickaxe!
...
...
...
A bit above Ren, the main cast stood in front of a large obsidian wall with confused expressions.
It seemed Principal Seraphina had added some new layers of protection since they had last been here.
Liam, walking towards the main cast, raised his sword before saying.
"There are no intruders... yet."
Lily, thinking for a moment, shrugged her shoulders before lowering her wand.
The rest of the main cast also put their weapons down upon hearing Liam's announcement.
And a few meters away from the main cast, a large griffin stood.
The griffin, it's head not even reaching the ceiling of the underground space actually had a lot of extra space, despite its large size.
However... Its entrance into the tunnel was far from noble or confident.
Liam and Kevin quite literally had to push the griffin's back so that it would fit down the hole and into the underground space.

Hearing the sound of footsteps echo throughout the space, Liam immediately raised his sword.
Regrouping with Liam, the rest of the main cast raised their weapons while the magic users began preparing spells.
However, as the source of these footsteps came into sight, an audible sigh left the students's mouths.
Principal Seraphina, now dressed in sleek silver armor that looked more like casual clothes than battle armor, waved before asking.
"Any trouble yet?"
Putting his sword down, Liam calmly replied.
"Not so far..."
"Well, don't count on it lasting."
Walking to the entrance of the vault, Principal Seraphina placed her hand on the obsidian, feeling the smooth and glassy surface.
After a moment, she turned around to face the main cast before saying.
"Well, you all are dismissed for the day! Thanks for your hard work... your efforts will not go unpunished!"
"..."
Confused and bewildered, the main cast stood there, silently staring at the principal.
Hard work?
They had done nothing!
The main cast had gone from fighting dark elves and protecting the Elden tree... to doing this?
Surprised by the change of pace and lack of action, Liam muttered after a few seconds.
"T-this is it?"
Sighing, Seraphina nodded her head.
Leaning downward, Seraphina made eye contact with each of the main cast members before finally replying.
"You all have already done enough for the school in my absence. It's time I stepped in and actually did my job."
"All of you must be used to risking your lives to help and protect. It must be normal to you all."
"But, trust me... that's far from normal. You seven are a bunch of students too... who deserve to enjoy your young years."
"Once this is all said and done, let's have a nice Christmas dinner!"
"..."
Seraphina, sensing some action around the underground space, handed the main cast a wooden stick.
Alya, graciously grabbing the wooden stick, stared at it for a moment before confusedly staring at Seraphina.
Responding to the student's confused gaze, Seraphina laughed and said.
"A friend of mine gave it to me. It's a one-time use device that teleports you all back up to the surface."
Huddling up, Alya placed the wooden stick in the middle of them before asking.
"Should we really go...?"
Ruby, nodding her head, checked her smartwatch, only to see it out of service before replying.
"We're only be a burden to her if we stay..."
As the main cast nodded in approval, Alya was about to break the wooden stick with her hands when the walls suddenly started shaking.
Before the main cast could react, dozens of holes appeared in the walls, revealing countless figures with masks who were all hiding in the walls.
Right next to the main cast, a masked figure suddenly rushed forward through the hole and seized the wooden stick.
Propelling himself upward, the masked figure grabbed the stick before jumping over the main cast.
Then, as countless other figures emerged from the wall, the masked figure ignored the main cast and stared at the principal, who had begun to fight.
Tilting his mask, the masked figure attacked some sort of device to the stick.
Then, a second later, the masked figure hurled the stick right at the principal.
