Chapter 19: Chapter 19
As the days and weeks rolled by, Alex found himself increasingly engrossed in his newfound abilities. His quiet apartment was often transformed into a sanctuary of learning and meditation, each corner filled with books on mental strength, meditation techniques, and various forms of cognitive exercises. The faint glow of his computer screen illuminated his late-night explorations into the depths of psychology, neuroscience, and even metaphysics.
On this particular evening, after a long day of work at the bookkeeping company, Alex sat cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by an array of textbooks and notepads filled with his sketches and thoughts. He closed his eyes, allowing himself to drift into his familiar meditative state, focusing on his breath as he visualized the cosmic wonders he had come to associate with his growth—the sun, the swirling galaxies, and the enigmatic black holes.
As he descended deeper into meditation, the progress bar representing his mental strength ticked up slowly, inching toward a new milestone. It felt like the bar was a living entity, responding to his thoughts and intentions.
Why is this happening to me? he pondered as he envisioned the universe's vastness enveloping him. Why can I grow mentally while others seem to struggle?
He remembered his college friends, many of whom had turned to meditation as a means to cope with life's pressures, yet he often wondered if they experienced growth like he did. Did they feel the same exhilarating rush when they reached new levels of understanding? Did they glimpse the cosmos within themselves?
The deeper he meditated, the more he felt a connection to something greater, a cosmic energy that echoed through him like the hum of distant stars. It was as if the shard within him had opened a door to an expansive universe of knowledge and understanding, one he could step into and explore.
With a gentle sigh, Alex opened his eyes, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. He jotted down notes on his thoughts, contemplating the nature of growth. Maybe it's not just about the mental exercises, he thought, but also about how I approach my understanding of the universe and my place in it.
Later that evening, he met up with his friends from college at their usual café, a cozy little spot filled with warm lights and eclectic decor. As he settled into the booth, he noticed Mia, one of his closest friends, that recently joined in their Hangouts, she is one of those that did mediate back in school those those.
"…and I swear, it feels like I'm floating sometimes!" Mia exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "I've been trying different techniques, but I'm still not getting anywhere near what I hope to achieve." as expected, a fan of mediation no doubt
Alex nodded, intrigued. "Mia u still mediate after all those years, I also started doing that recently. What do you hope to achieve?" he asked, genuinely curious.
Mia leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "I want to unlock my mind, to see beyond what I know. I've heard about people who can achieve this incredible clarity. I just don't know how. You should keep at it, it's a good practice."
Their friend Sam, sitting across from them, chimed in with a grin. "You know, I read that some people claim meditation can open doors to other dimensions of thought. What if you could see alternate realities?"
"Or even speak to beings from those realities," Mia added, her imagination taking flight.
Alex chuckled, but the conversation sparked a thought in him. Could it be that those who meditate without a deeper purpose are limited in their growth?
As they continued to discuss their experiences, Alex's mind wandered. He began to wonder if the shard's influence allowed him to tap into something extraordinary that others couldn't easily access. He realized that while his friends sought to unlock their minds through meditation, he had inadvertently been granted a key that led him on a unique path.
Later that night, as Alex returned home, he reflected on their conversation. Maybe I need to share this journey with them, he thought. If I can grow mentally like this, maybe they can too, but they'll need more than just techniques—they'll need inspiration.
