The Witch’s Convent

Chapter 11: Two Grimoires

Hawthorne could no longer restrain himself, and he flipped her over, pinning her beneath him. His hands skillfully removed her nun's habit, and he effortlessly found the softest and most sensitive spot on her body.

“Oh—!”

With the movement of his waist, a satisfied and melodious moan escaped Heidi's lips.

Half an hour later, seeing the witch diligently assisting him in getting dressed, Hawthorne's expression was quite complex. After hesitating for a long time, he finally spoke slowly, "Heidi, how about starting today, you stop teaching me magic?"

"Please help me find a few Grimoires; I think I’ll learn it myself."

Visibly startled, Heidi's delicate body shuddered. She then raised her head, her eyes filled with obvious panic: "Why? Did Heidi do something wrong to make Master angry?"

Hawthorne quickly shook his head, continuously denying, "Of course not. Um... it’s really my fault. Every time you teach me magic, I can’t control my desires..."

His tone inevitably became somewhat awkward: "I feel like this is too much of a distraction, so I plan to learn on my own from now on; it might even be more efficient..."

Heidi bit her lower lip, her eyes glistening with tears: "I understand, Master. I will try to stay away when you are learning magic in the future..."

Seeing her dejected demeanor, Hawthorne couldn't help but feel guilty and hurriedly embraced her, constantly offering reassurance.

Alas, it’s all because my willpower is too weak; one touch and I’m easily distracted, and once distracted, I end up achieving nothing all morning...

The two then went to the Kitchen together and prepared a hearty seafood breakfast from simple ingredients. Hawthorne cleaned his plate, including meat, vegetables, and bread, feeling as if his body inside and out was warm as a furnace, with boundless energy springing forth between the marrow and muscle fibers. He even felt like he could hear the sound of his muscles and bones growing.

Not bad; it seems he would soon fully recover, and his physical attributes should increase by one or two points, right?

With this thought in mind, he returned to his room to continue familiarizing himself with the Spells he had learned earlier. Meanwhile, Heidi went out to help him find some magic books.

In other places, such books might not be easy to come by, as the powerful ability of magic would be regarded as a treasure by anyone.

But this is Liberl Port, the place where the goddess of magic once personally manifested her miracles, and the largest port city in the world.

Here, countless powers from all corners of the world gather, and the markets engage in massive trade amounting to billions of gold coins every day. As long as one has money, finding anything related to magic here is incredibly easy.

Not to mention, in the university district of this city, there are well-known universities where the goddess of magic herself once came to give lectures.

Straylight University of Magic.

Although the university is officially a comprehensive institution that teaches everything, there’s no doubt that its world-renowned foundation lies in its ability to cultivate almost anyone into a Spellcaster.

The second-hand textbooks sold by the university's graduates are not only popular among underclassmen who want to save on textbook costs but are also regarded by many ambitious individuals as the only channel to learn magic.

Thus, in this city, acquiring a textbook for studying magic is not a particularly difficult task.

However, whether one can self-learn and succeed without a teacher's guidance is another matter...

Ahem!

In any case, Heidi only needs to go out, walk a few steps, and head to the district where the university is located, and she can easily buy these books for Hawthorne.

But as a devoted witch to her Master, Heidi would not be satisfied with just helping him pick ordinary textbooks...

……

Three hours later.

"Seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty... Huh..."

In the room, Hawthorne suddenly collapsed onto the bed, his arms trembling and breathing heavily.

As he gasped for air, he couldn’t help but reflect: this body is really weak! Even though he had been taking care of himself for several days, he could barely manage to do twenty push-ups before becoming too exhausted to continue.

How could such a frail body possibly conquer more witches in the future?

He definitely needed to focus on conditioning and exercise.

Just as he was thinking about his future workout plan, the door suddenly swung open. He turned his head and saw Heidi walking in with a small black fabric bundle.

“Master.” She closed the door and then approached him with a hint of apology. “I’m sorry, Master. I’ve been indulging in pleasure and didn’t save enough money. So this time around the university, I only managed to buy two textbooks…”

As she spoke, she placed the bundle on the nightstand, opened it, and revealed two thick Grimoires—one with a blue cover and the other with a purple cover. The titles read "Introduction to Quantitative Analysis" and "Introduction to Luxurious Arts."

"Quantitative Analysis" and "Luxurious Arts" are the names of colleges at Straylight University. Clearly, these two books are the first texts that new students in the respective colleges need to study.

At first glance, they appeared to be just two ordinary textbooks, but now that Hawthorne had the Casting Ability shared from Heidi, he suddenly furrowed his brows.

Then, he froze in surprise: "These two books... are magic items?"

He could already sense the magical power emanating from these two books. As Heidi shared her Magic Power with him, she also shared with him the ability to perceive magic, so he could immediately determine that both of these books were indeed magic items!

This also meant that anyone holding these two books, even a person who had never learned magic or was illiterate, could cast the spells recorded within them!

“This…” he couldn’t help but stammer, “Heidi, these two books must be really expensive, right?”

After all, they are magic items, and the starting price is probably above 300 gold coins. It’s important to note that even in Liberl Port, a skilled blacksmith who can forge plate armor only earns about two gold coins on average each day.

This one book would cost a blacksmith five months' worth of earnings!

Such Grimoires are incredibly pricey, and Heidi just went ahead and bought him two of them.

In response to his question, Heidi smiled gently, sitting on the bed and leaning closer to him. “I want Master to become stronger as quickly as possible. With these, your learning speed will definitely be much faster than with ordinary introductory books.”

Hawthorne was instantly filled with emotion, but at the same time, a feeling of shame surfaced.

Damn it, it felt like he was being completely treated as a kept man by Heidi!

No, he needed to think of a way to make some money for himself!

After all, Heidi had just mentioned that her savings were running low.

But… how to make money?
