The Witch Hat's Quest for Curse Curing Magic

Wilting

Chapter 93 Wilting

With their discussion of the plan in her mind, Aleshia walked toward Dahdin's body, the orb held tightly in her hand. As she neared the edge of the river of sigils, she asked, "Lucia, can you start a countdown?" Lucia nodded in understanding, and thus the countdown began: "One, two, three." At the count of three, Aleshia activated the orb and rolled it toward Dahdin's body.

The grass wilted as it approached Dahdin's body, becoming increasingly shriveled the closer it got. This wilting was a testament to the orb's newfound, voracious hunger for energy, siphoning it like a curse. The orb continued to roll through the grass until it reached the area where sigils and mist were engaged in a battle, devouring and repelling each other.

The orb rolled to a stop a few meters past Dahdin's body. Suddenly, mayhem erupted on the field. A new entity began to disrupt the balance between opposing forces, consuming allies and enemies alike. The sigils, embodying the energy of nature, were drawn into the orb as it absorbed the mysterious mist. However, this had negative consequences; with fewer sigils protecting the barricade, the evil mist was able to advance much closer than before.

Lucia noticed the situation and urgently urged Aleshia to rush to the orb they had left behind. Since it was Lucia's enhancement, she needed it to summon another strong batch of sigils to replace those lost to the rampaging orb. Aleshia quickly ran to the orb lying on the grass and lifted it so Lucia could grab it. Lucia immediately siphoned energy from the orb and created numerous new sigils. After infusing the siphoned energy into the sigils, she sent them to the river.

Lucia was exhausted from the rapid conjuring and collapsed onto Aleshia's head. "Lucia, are you okay?" Aleshia exclaimed, panicking at her collapsing. She instinctively moved to inspect Lucia but paused, realizing she should not remove her from her position. "Right, since she is out of commission, I have to step up and—" Suddenly, the orb floating by Lucia's magic dropped onto her foot.

Although the pain would typically make someone cry out and cling to their foot, Aleshia only flinched as the pain was lessened by not wholly occupying Lucia's body. Ignoring the pain, Aleshia ran toward the battle area. However, her foot slipped due to foot drop, causing her to trip and tumble to the ground.
