The Witch Hat's Quest for Curse Curing Magic

Curse’s Conditions

Chapter 14 Curse's effect

Confused by Kailey's assertion, Aleshia sat down on a seat near the table to mull over what Kailey just said. After a while of contemplation, she asked Kailey, "What kind of curse do you have, and what effects has it had on you?"

Kailey hesitantly answered Aleshia's question, "I don't know what kind of curse is on me, but I know it rapidly consumes my mana and energy. Making it so I must manually maintain the mana within me. Otherwise, it would disperse into the void."

After learning about the curse on Kailey, Aleshia questioned her about the drawbacks of not maintaining control over her mana flow.

After a momentary pause, Kailey responded, "If I don't manually control the output of my mana, I will experience something I like to call mana deprivation. This condition leaves me weak and unable to do stuff normally. When I don't actively control my mana, my body feels sickly like thick mud. When moving, my limbs feel like they are wading through mud while wearing heavy iron armor.

While Kailey was complaining about her curse, Aleshia wrote down the curse's effect using the chalk made from the flakes of Kailey's soul. After listening to Kailey's rant for a while, Aleshia began highlighting the effects that she recognized from other curses such as [Mana Influx], [Binding], [Mana Asphyxiation], and so on. Now, with a list, she could lock down the effects and possibly create a cure spell for the curse.

With a way to help mitigate or cure the curse, Aleshia began formulating a framework for Kailey's curse. While pondering a hypothesis for Kailey's curse, Aleshia faintly heard some alarming remarks made by Kailey: "I have noticed that it's becoming increasingly difficult to control the mana within my body. The sensation of mana flowing through me is weakening, possibly due to the regularity with which I manipulate it. I am also afraid that if I can't find a way to cure this curse, my life force will leave my body instead if I can't hold onto the mana naturally produced inside my body.

After hearing Kailey say something so terrifying that it sent shivers down her spine, Aleshia immediately went to Kailey and gently placed a comforting hand on her head. Moved by Kailey's distress, Aleshia felt a renewed determination to find a solution to the curse that tormented Kailey until then she would try and help her in any way she could.
