The Villainous Family Loves Me Too Much!

Chapter 81

“Sir Robben!”

The moment we set foot in the wormhole, Sir Robben lost consciousness.

Perhaps his beastly physique couldn’t withstand the intensity of my Ability’s exertion.

‘I need to rewind Sir Robben’s soul back to before his beast transformation.’

Though relying on external support, this would likely prove no simple task.

And successfully reverting Sir Robben’s soul within would prove equally challenging, if not more so.

Closing my eyes, I activated my Abilities.

‘I must retrieve Sir Robben from before his transformation – the precise moment…’

When the awakened Lucian turned him into a beast.

Upon opening my eyes, the pitch-black-eyed Lucian dashed past me.

“Luci… no, this time it’s Sir Robben.”

Before the carriage, my father-in-law Archduke Ferrel Felosite conversed with Sir Robben:

“Listen well, Sir Robben. It appears Lucian’s awakening has begun.”

“Impossible, he’s still but eighteen. The cure will arrive soon…”

“This was inevitable – the fated curse carried within our bloodline.”

‘The fated curse carried within our bloodline’ – referring to Lucian’s predestined role as the villain in that novel world.

“I shall handle Lucian alone. None must interfere, is that clear?”

“But Your Highness…”

“Any insubordination shall be punishable by immediate execution.”

Sir Robben furrowed his brow, visibly conflicted.

‘I cannot let him proceed.’

Concealed behind the shrubbery, I extended my arm towards Sir Robben, but couldn’t directly intervene.

Fearing any actions might drastically alter the past in unknowable ways.

‘What if preventing Sir Robben changes something pivotal for Lucian?’

No – this had already transpired, merely soul memories replaying.

That was the reality I had consistently witnessed:

Though able to traverse space-time within this ‘gap’ and perceive memories, such occurred solely within this realm, disconnected from the physical world.

Hence, while souls could be reverted to human form and returned, the actual events couldn’t be rewritten.

That was Lucian’s and my conclusion, though not an absolute certainty.

We still didn’t fully comprehend how this space-time gap and the wormhole intersected.

When I retrieved Lucian’s soul from the gap, his physical body remained in reality.

But now, Sir Robben’s corporeal form was trapped within this gap space-time.

Anything could potentially occur, even this wormhole functioning like a time machine.

Nothing was definitively assured.

And as I debated this quandary, Sir Robben had already taken off running.

“Sir Robben!”

Aware he couldn’t hear me, I still called out loudly in vain:

“Sir Robben! Stop!”

Yet astonishingly, Sir Robben halted and looked around in confusion.

‘Could he somehow hear my voice?’

Startled, I abruptly stood up – and our eyes met as Sir Robben turned towards me.

“A young noblewoman in a place like this… What troubles you? Though I wish to assist, I am in haste currently, so another ti-“

“It concerns Lucian. I beseech you for a moment.”

At the mention of Lucian’s name, Sir Robben flinched before cautiously approaching.

“How do you know of Prince Lucian…?”

Examining my eyes and head, Sir Robben trailed off, unable to continue.

“Could it be… Her Highness the Princess? But how have you grown so…”

“I came from the future.”

I smiled wryly, telling a fanciful lie – or rather, a precise truth.

“The… future, you say?”

Then black smoke erupted skyward from the forest.

“Prince!”

“One moment, please!”

I restrained his impulse to immediately rush off.

“His Highness the Archduke and the Prince are in danger! I must go to them!”

“Don’t worry. Everything will be well, as I said, I’m from the future.”

Though regarding me skeptically, my regal bearing and distinctive heterochromic eyes – unique to the imperial bloodline – ultimately persuaded the conflicted Sir Robben to heed my reassurance.

“There is a place I would have you accompany me.”

Offering my hand, I declared:

“We shall meet Lucian together.”

Grasping his soul essence, I once again exerted my Abilities.

“What do you know? Even your father’s death was your doing! Without me, this was always the path you would have walked!”

Grating voices echoed as I emerged from the wormhole path.

‘Colin.’

That voice which had always offered me solace now inflicted wounds upon Lucian.

“You’re the worse one, not me!”

Through the wormhole’s fracture, I witnessed Colin slipping free from Lucian’s waning restraints.

“Tsk tsk, Colin. Talking such nonsense behind my back?”

With a radiant tendril, I enveloped Colin’s fleeing smoke form.

“Sorry for the delay, everyone. You must have all been waiting a while.”

One hand grasping the unconscious Sir Robben, the other emitting light to bind Colin.

Yet strangely, I felt no particular strain whatsoever.

Did traversing the wormhole somehow bolster my Abilities? Is that why it seemed so effortless?

“Your Highness!”

“Karena!”

Welcoming faces surrounded me – Gabriel, Gebino, and… Lucian.

Then abruptly, Sir Robben slipped from my arm, collapsing limply.

“Oh!”

Swiftly shifting to support him with my free arm, the light binding Colin flickered out in that split second.

And as the radiance dissipated, Colin instantaneously dematerialized into smoke before everyone’s eyes.

Days later, Sir Robben remained comatose without any change in his condition since losing consciousness within the wormhole.

“Just let me try one more time, please.”

In stark contrast to his usual self-assured competence, Jonathan insisted on re-examining Sir Robben meticulously from head to toe with divine power.

The young healer’s expression positively glowed with childlike wonder, reminiscent of a toddler presented with a fascinating new plaything.

“Any new findings to report?”

Puzzled by my cousin’s exhilaration while tending the comatose patient, I inquired.

“I can confirm it with absolute certainty now, everyone.”

Curled up sleeping on Lady Robben’s lap was a small girl, seemingly oblivious to the medical examination.

Not anticipating any significant revelations, Lady Robben merely stroked the child’s head in silence.

“Sir Robben is no longer a humanoid monster.”

At Jonathan’s pronouncement, Lady Robben startled, head snapping up in disbelief.

“What? Is…is that truly so?”

Her hand stilled, trembling against the sleeping child’s hair.

“Of course, we must await Sir Robben regaining consciousness to be certain. But I could detect no lingering bestial traces, his body is completely cleansed.”

After Jonathan’s departure, only Sir Robben’s family and I remained in the room.

Lucian had hastened to an imperial conference to discuss these developments.

In his stead, I chose to keep vigil over Sir Robben’s bedside.

Though silence still permeated the chamber due to Sir Robben’s unresponsive state, I sensed a palpable shift in atmosphere following Jonathan’s visit.

“Your Highness.”

Lady Robben’s quavering voice addressed me, her eyes brimming with tears.

“Thank you… Thank you so very much…”

“Not at all, ma’am. We must await Sir Robben’s waking.”

I could scarcely fathom the torment she must have endured, forsaking all to remain beside her transformed beloved in self-imposed exile.

A formidable woman of incredible fortitude.

“Of course. He will awaken, Your Highness.”

No sooner had Lady Robben finished speaking than Sir Robben’s fingers twitched ever so slightly.
