The Villainous Family Loves Me Too Much!

Chapter 15

Using a fork, I scooped up the soft whipped cream stuck in the corner of the plate and brought it to my mouth.

The sweet scent of the cream filled my senses, melting away the tension in my mind.

‘Let’s think about it when we get back. Just enjoy for now.’

When will I get to eat this again?

The strawberry whipped cream cake that melted gently in my mouth was a taste I had never experienced anywhere else.

‘This is crazy, it’s so delicious!’

Sylonne ordered a wedding cake on the spot, a massive 10-tier strawberry cake, repeatedly emphasizing that she wanted it made with extra care.

The owner and pastry chef of the bakery, Nox, gifted her an array of desserts in return, and even loaded up a carriage full of them.

“The taste was heavenly, Nox.”

“With Your Highness enjoying it so much, I feel like I’m the one tasting something heavenly. Hahaha!”

Perhaps it was the delightful bite of the strawberry cake and the pleasant encounter with Nox, but my once troubled mind felt like it was melting like sugar.

By the time I arrived at the palace, savoring the scent of the sweet desserts loaded in the carriage, it was already dark.

“I’ll take care of the desserts, sister!”

As soon as Sylonne arrived at the palace, she hurriedly descended from the carriage and went straight to the kitchen.

‘Sylonne is really serious about desserts.’

After receiving a simple treatment on my wrist from the doctor waiting in the lobby, I decided to rest in my room.

Perhaps because of the unease, the image of the Archduke I saw in the alley was still haunting my mind.

– Never hurt my wife, no matter the reason.

“Is he a bad guy, a good guy, what is he? So confusing!”

Feeling somewhat embarrassed, I mumbled to myself as I opened the door. And then, I was met with an unexpected sight.

“Your Highness the Princess!”

In the room, the friend I had been desperately waiting for, was there.

“Colin, when did you get here?”

“I just arrived. Oh my, you look so thin! Are people here tormenting you? I’ll give them a piece of my mind!”

Colin, who couldn’t come with me on the first day due to the intense scrutiny for entering Felosite, only arrived here after a few days.

According to Sylonne, her quick arrival was thanks to the Archduke’s special permission.

“No, Colin. Everyone here has been very kind to me.”

“You came here as a sinner, Your Highness. No matter how well they treat you…”

“Colin, look around. Does this room look like a sinner’s?”

Colin glanced around the room.

With Delgado’s help, the room had been transformed into a grandeur, and was beautiful to anyone who saw it. It was a splendid room that was on par with the rooms in the imperial palace.

The walls, decorated with a gold trim and colorful mosaics, and the brand-new, shimmering, high-quality emerald furniture. The newly transformed room was a sight to behold.

“You’re right. It’s amazing! It’s several times bigger and more luxurious than your room in the imperial palace!”

“Right? Everything’s great except for always feeling tired because of the magic barrier.”

“This place is quite intriguing, Your Highness. On the way here, I thought I was falling off a cliff! And there was no horse with the carriage!”

Colin began to chatter in her usual lively tone.

Seeing her after a long time made me incredibly happy, but perhaps because I was exhausted, I couldn’t really understand what she was saying.

Feeling drained, I headed to a drawer and pulled out some towels and a gown.

“I think I need to wash and rest today. Colin, why don’t you relax as well?”

Colin’s eyes widened in surprise, seemingly shocked to see me preparing my own towel.

“Princess! Please give that to me. Don’t they have maids or attendants here?”

“Ah, right. I should explain properly.”

As an agitated Colin approached, I comforted her with a smile.

But she kept trying to take my towel, so I had no choice but to firmly hold it with one hand.

“You see, Felosite is a bit different from the Empire, Colin.”

“What on earth is that? They don’t even assign a maid to attend to the noble princess?”

“Here, no one attends to you while you bathe. The nobles of Felosite mock those from the Empire, saying, ‘Don’t they even know how to bathe by themselves? They’re like children.'”

This was all relayed by Sylonne on the first day.

Having been in this world for a while, where others attended to your needs, bathing alone initially felt awkward. But after a few times, it became as familiar as in my past life.

“But you are the Empire’s princess.”

“Now, I am the Archduchess of Felosite. I can wash and sleep by myself, so don’t worry too much, Colin.”

Colin didn’t leave for a while.

Only after the lengthy persuasion did she leave the room, and finally, I could have a moment of relaxation by myself.

I filled the tub with warm water and dissolved the bath salts. Eagerly, I took off my clothes and entered the tub.

“Ah!”

Maybe because I was relaxed, I slipped, and one leg slid out from under me.

I plopped right into the water.

Fortunately, it wasn’t a hard fall. But in that brief moment, a forgotten memory passed through my mind. The day, three years ago, when I became Karena.

* * *

Swept up in a massive earthquake and trapped in darkness after falling into a wormhole, I suddenly found myself lying on a cold floor.

“Karena!”

Suddenly, Gabriel entered my sight.

‘A foreigner? Wait, mint-colored hair?’

At first, I thought a stranger had rescued me. But upon closer look, he wore clothes like those of the medieval era, and his beauty was far from ordinary. Mint-colored hair? Clearly, it wasn’t dyed.

‘Is this a dream?’

Looking around, the surroundings were even more bizarre: golden palaces and courtiers in intricate attire. I was also dressed absurdly – a sky-blue dress that spread wide below.

But I clearly remember wearing a snug white dress when the earthquake struck.

Confused, I stood up and looked around.

‘What is this? Where am I?’

Running aimlessly, I stopped in front of a large pond and saw my reflection for the first time.

‘Wow… beautiful. Is this really me?’

Mint-colored hair fluttering in the wind, porcelain skin, clear eyes, and even a voluptuous bust.

‘And heterochromia. So cool.’

It was a beauty I had never imagined.

‘Like a fairy. If I looked like this in reality, he wouldn’t have left me.’

Such a vivid dream, I thought.

‘Since I don’t know when I’ll wake up, let’s enjoy this now.’

My face was so fascinating that I kept touching it.

‘I want to take a closer look.’

Leaning over to see my face in the water, I felt off-balance.

‘Oh no, I’m falling!’

Someone rushed over and caught me, preventing me from falling into the water.

Instead, I found myself lying back on the grass with a handsome boy looking down at me worriedly.

‘Is he the one who saved me? He’s even more handsome than the previous guy.’

His silver-gray hair wafted a pleasant scent of wood. And his sparkling red eyes…

“Your… eyes are really beautiful. Just like ruby gemstones.”

Then I remembered the owner of those beautiful eyes.

The child was Archduke Felosite.
