Chapter 42 – Submitting (1)
Su Tian knew that the You’s were wealthy. Some might even say that Mr. You was arguably the richest man in the country.
Even though nobody knew exactly what their net worth was, they did have a monopoly on all high-end cigarette and alcohol industries. Everyone knew how profitable those industries those were.
Seeing Su Tian’s awkward look, the Miss asked, “Is that problem?”
Su Tian signed, “If you want just tens of thousands of dollars, that will probably be do-able. Anything more than that, I don’t think they will let you do that.”
Withdrawing cash from credit card was illegal after all; another name for it was financial fraud. The average wage in Luo Cheng was $10,000 and its total population below 50,000. A few million dollars was a mortifying amount of money for this small city.
You Pinyan found that hard to believe, “Not even a few million dollars?”
Goddamn! That jackass You Zan, screw him to hell and back, how dare he stop her credit card? Luckily, she had the foresight when she ran off and stolen one of her grandfather’s credit cards.
Oh, You Zan, that garbage father. Screw him to hell and back!
Su Tian, “Even if you can get a few million dollars in cash, I don’t think you will be able to spend them all here.”
The most expensive clothes in the best shopping center in Luo Cheng cost only a little over $100. The best meal in the best restaurant cost $100 per person. Movie ticket was $5 each. How was she going to spend several million dollars in a small town like this?
You Pinyan was stunned as she listened to Su Tian. This was the first time she had a better understanding of the standard of living in this town.
Originally, she though this town was close enough to the Capital City, even though it was small. She never would have expected to not be able to spend a few million dollars.
That’s so pathetic.
“Then, maybe take out one… never mind, let’s take out $100,000 first.”
Under Su Tian’s intense look, You Pinyan changed one million to a hundred thousand with great difficulty.
Su Tian smiled, “Let me go reach out to the other party for contact information. I will get back to you in a little bit.”
As Su Tian was gone, You Pinyan called herself an idiot. What was she going to do with $100,000? That’s not enough for one day.
After she had returned to her place, Su Tian found the contact information of the person who could withdraw cash from credit card and passed the information onto the Miss.
As for whether the contact would charge extra for his service, or what kind of deal the two of them would strike, Su Tian would not want to get involved in that.
She wasn’t someone else’s mother. Even though it was a request from the system, Su Tian has already felt that one must be responsible for one’s own life. The best she could do was to offer help at the most critical moment was all.
For example, ruin his plans when Tang Qifeng came or something to that effect. Emmmmm.
Su Tian heard discussion about the scam artist when she returned to school that night. That’s when she remembered that the scam artist incident has not yet been resolved completely. Was the man released yet?
Su Tian picked up her cell phone and dialed Office Liu. Su Tian had left a lasting impression with Officer Liu; he remembered her right away as soon as she started talking. He told her that the man would be released in a couple of days to see if he could lead them to their base operation and warned her to be more careful in the next few days in case of any retaliation.
Su Tian responded in agreement. As soon as she hung up the phone, Boss Liu called.
She felt that it was odd. Boss Liu had always been proud and cold. Even though the distance between them had shortened because of the Kaka comics, he was still distant, cold, and quiet. They normally didn’t even talk, let alone calling her on her phone.
She picked up her phone. She was barely able to get out a “Hello” before she heard Boss Liu’s faint voice coming in from afar, cold and shivering.
He said, “Su Tian, Kaka…. Was torn up.”
