The Tangled Threads of Love

"Prime..." 

Princess Zakia was calling the name of her cat and it followed her voice. It jumped on her lap and relaxed while she was giving her gentle strokes.

"What will happen after this? I am deceiving him for this time." She shut her eyes and calming herself not to think about it. This thought of hers might stress her and the only thing she could do was to calm herself now. 

She was on her bedroom hall while studying the poison. She got a mice in a cage and studied it well. It didn't die. She listed it on the first day of her experiment and there she put it in the drawer. 

"I think something is not clear. What exactly this poison called? How many days to kill using this?" 

She went to the chair and calmed herself. Suddenly, the maid knocked on the door. "Your highness, please make a time for an audience. Someone is waiting for you in the lobby."

She was shocked after hearing this. She went out of her secret room and changed her outfit. She put on her mask and looked in the mirror. "What if it is Prince Hendrix?" She was nervous about meeting him now. 

She walked in the corridor and saw an unfamiliar figure. She turned her back and hid her trembling hands. She was afraid of someone she didn't know. 

"Your Highness..." His deep voice made her to look back at him. 

She was stepping back when he was stepping forward to her. "Greetings, Your Highness. I am pleased to meet you." He grabbed her hand but she refused. 

He chuckled as he was trying to make eye contact to her. "I am Prince Garry of the Kingdom of Azadonia." 

"What do you want from me?" She glared at him. She wanted to stop the conversation but he chuckled. She was offended by his act. 

"I like that. You're meaner than me." He walked around her slowly looking at her sense of style. 

"What do you want from me?" She was hiding her trembling hands when he turn back in front of her. She was afraid of this man but she managed to stand still. 

"I think I know your secret." He smirked and winked to her. 

Her brows met as she turned her back at him. "Get lost." 

"Fine. It is up to you or else I will make a commotion to make a gossip of you." He went out of the guest hall and smirked. 

She walked near the chair and she was trembling. She almost collapsed on the chair and catching her breath. "What secret is he holding about me?" 

She was catching her breath and then everything went black. 

She was awake when she heard a voice. "Your Highness! Your Highness! Please wake up." 

When she woke up, the maid helped her to go to her bedroom hall and there she laid herself in. She was not feeling well after knowing about Prince Garry's statement. 

"How did he know me?" 

"He is said to be a lunatic prince who wants something to be his." The maid was sitting beside her bed. She was checking for her. 

It was the first time to ask her for an audience and she didn't expect that it wasn't Prince Hendrix who wanted to see her. She was panicking about her secret to be revealed. Her eyes went shut as she remembered that she met Prince Garry in the dinner banquet of their Kingdom. 

"What will happen to me?" 

The maid cheered her up. "Let me protect you, Your Highness." 

"Thank you, Riri." She smiled to the maid and asked her to leave her alone. 

She remained silent until she fell asleep. 

Prince Hendrix was walking inside his bedroom hall as he was looking for a book he was hiding when he was a kid. It was full of list of flowers and herbs. He was thinking that it might help them to know what poison was used in making the foods. 

He stopped when his butler called him. "Your Highness, you have an audience today." 

"What?" His brows met and gritted his teeth. He was busy now and he didn't want an interruption.

"Prince Garry is looking for you. He didn't tell me what he wanted to say to you." 

"Tell him to wait for me." He went to the cabinet and got his small pocket knife. He knew that Prince Garry was mean and a traitor since he was friends with him for a long time but once broken when they argued about something. 

"It's nice to see you again, Your highness." Prince Garry greeted him and smiled. 

"What do you want from me?" Prince Hendrix was adamant of his behavior. He knew something was off because he would not come here if he didn't like to ask a favor. 

"I hope you know me well. I would like to inform you about your secret." He wanted to be part of the investigation and he would like to get benefit of finding the culprit about the poison. 

"Just tell me what do you want from me?" Prince Hendrix was controlling his emotions as he didn't want an argument with this man. 

"Let me be with your investigation about the poison. I wanted to be part of this." 

Prince Hendrix smirked and crossed his arms. "Do you think I need someone like you?" 

Prince Garry gnashed his teeth as he wanted to be part of the investigation badly. "You'll regret this." 

"Go on." 

Prince Garry went out of the guest hall and took a ride on the horse. He went back to the Kingdom of Azadonia and planned something against them. He wanted to make Prince Hendrix regret about rejecting him. 

He wanted to get Princess Zakia's attention that was why he lied. He was teasing her to make her think about him always. He was getting crazy over her. He would ask her to marry him soon. 

He went on his study table and wrote an appeal to his parents and ask for the hand of Princess Zakia to be his wife. He was smiling late at night making a good appeal to his parents.
