Chapter 2: Chapter 2 - The Banquet
The imperial kitchen was filled with maids and cooks. They were busy for the dinner banquet as the four kingdoms were invited. The host of the said dinner banquet was the Kingdom of Azadonia.
"The banquet is near. Keep the whole place clean and smell good. Put some decorations there." Princess Ara, the daughter of King Agathon and Queen Barbara was the in charge person of the dinner banquet. She was skilled in decorating the place and she was good at accommodating the guests and people so she was assigned by her father.
Her agenda was to fulfill her duty and to attract Prince Hendrix's attention. She liked him because of his appearance and personality. He was her type and made her heart pound and make her tummy flutter.
She made sure not a single dirt was on the floor and the window could be seen. She made sure that the whole place looked simple but stunning. Her daydreaming was interrupted when she heard her name. She looked at the one who called her and smiled.
"This is the best venue for our dinner banquet." King Agathon gave her a compliment that made her happy.
"Thank you, my beloved King." She greeted him with a smile.
After a long time of preparation, palanquins arrived from other kingdoms. The maid entertained them with a dance and music that made them happy.
"I like how it is organized." Queen Barbara complimented Princess Ara for being the best organizer today. Although her daughter didn't hear her, her daughter smiled at the guests and she was waiting for Prince Hendrix.
After a few minutes, they were in the banquet hall. They produced music and entertaining dance. She was waiting for Prince Hendrix to come but his family didn't arrive. Her mood began to be upset but a curved line was seen on her lips when she heard that a palanguin arrived. She rushed to get there and meet them.
Her eyes were sparkling when she saw Prince Hendrix wearing his expensive clothing and his hairstyle. He seemed to be the most handsome in his eyes when he smiled at him. She was nervous seeing him now. Her hands began to tremble as he walked forward at her.
He walked with a smile but he didn't greet her which made her pissed. He was so mean to her that made her grumpy. "He's the worst but I still like him." She crossed her arms in dismay and returned to the banquet hall.
"This time is the best for us to arrange things." King Agathon started to draw his attention to the guests and crowd.
"What is that all about?" King Lawrence of the Kingdom of the Samdrathania was curious about what King Agathon might announce. He was nervous but remained still. He smiled and got prepared for what he was planning to do.
"I would like to announce the marriage of our sons and daughters. We might choose among them who would like to get married." King Agathon was curious if someone would like to marry his son and daughter.
"Is it too early for that?" Queen Margaret feared what was coming next because she knew about the prophecy. She wasn't sure if it would bring chaos for them if the two would marry each other.
"Let's get them married. They are at the right age to get married." King Agathon was right. They should get married because of their rules and customs.
Princess Ara on the other side was secretly smiling because she knew that her father wanted her to be married to Prince Hendrix. She wanted to create a family with him because she imagined herself having their children happy. Her future was to be with him forever.
The spotlight was turned to the teenage girl walking with her maid. She was the unlucky girl who had been said in the prophecy. The people were terrified because she was there to create the commotion. She was wearing her beautiful dress but her face was hidden in the mask. The people knew that her face was ugly which would make everybody fear her, but she didn't care about it.
Her captivating eyes caught Prince Hednrix's attention. He smiled secretly and took a sip of his tea. He was waiting for her to look at his eyes too, but she never did. He was irritated about her ignoring his charm.
She sat with her family and started smiling behind her mask. She wouldn't allow everyone to see her real face. Queen Riana introduced her as her firstborn princess. "This is the daughter I cherished the most... Princess Zakia."
Prince Hendrix was mesmerized by her beauty even though he didn't know her real face. He just remembered that one day in his life at the Kingdom of Samdrathania was precious and meaningful for him. He was hoping that she remembered him. He swayed his thoughts about her and turned his attention to his food.
Princess Ara was observing him on the other side and she was furious inside. She feared not having Prince Hendrix at all because he saw Princess Zakia today. She calmed herself and thought about having an idea to make herself close to him. She was thinking about getting to know him after the banquet.
The banquet was filled with the talents of the performers. All of them enjoyed the views and made them laugh and amazed. On the other side, Princess Ara saw Prince Hendrix walking to the garden so she followed him there.
She pretended to be there before him and she went to the nearest bridge on the lake. She was walking there on that bridge and pretended not to see his eyes. She was pretending to watch the stars and moon in the sky.
"Beautiful." She was smiling at the moon and turned her look in his direction but he was not there, standing. She rolled her eyes around every corner, but she couldn't find him. She was upset by turning her eyes down to the ground. She came back to the banquet and made herself happy there.
