The Sweet Alpha Crown Prince Loves Me So Much

Chapter 42

The surroundings were covered in white snow.

Children excitedly ran around, and the village’s dogs chased after them, frolicking in the snow.

“It’s snowing heavily.”

The sight of the red roofs covered in white snow exceeded my expectations, and I couldn’t hide my excitement.

During early spring, Jeon Woo-young became Carl Lindbergh, and from Lindbergh to Heineken, he passed his first heat cycle in disarray. The point at which he found the royal seal, marking the end of autumn, was in the early winter.

In the midst of winter.

Snow was falling in Heineken.

“Looks like it’s not just the Korean-style novel; even the seasons are perfectly imitated.”

It was both fascinating and delightful.

I also murmured with relief, saying it’s really fortunate that fine dust was omitted.

Achoo

. Am I catching a cold?”

I began picking up firewood, adjusting the cloak on my shoulders.

It was a month ago that I quietly dismounted from my horse right in the middle of a bustling street in Heineken.

As soon as I got off, I put my cloak inside out and walked among the crowd.

I didn’t originally plan to disappear stealthily like a thief.

At first, I considered going to the palace and carrying out my plan as before.

Ignoring the Crown Prince if he came, ignoring Belfry if he came.

Without meeting Leia and just letting a single day pass, I thought the novel would flow back to its original course.

But as the palace came closer and the main tower came into clear view, I became terrified to the point of madness.

It was impossible to be in the palace and not meet the Crown Prince. And if I stayed inside the castle, the original story could completely vanish into thin air.

I didn’t know if we would end up exploring each other’s scents and spending another night together, and if we were to truly have a baby…

Unconsciously, I rubbed my flat lower abdomen.

Having a baby here.

It was unimaginable and frightening, but at the same time, I couldn’t help but wonder if I was accepting my life as an omega.

After thinking about it, I nervously glanced around, scratching my head in confusion.

It’s not funny at all.

Anyway, the Crown Prince wasn’t a bad partner, so if we were to get married and start a family, Carl Lindbergh might find some happiness.

But then…

What would happen to the remaining characters in the original story?

What about Belfry’s happiness?

With one ungloved hand itching, I switched the glove from my left hand to my right and clutched the bundle of firewood tightly in my arms.

“Oh? You’ve brought more firewood?”

A man walking from the opposite direction chuckled and exclaimed towards Carl.

“No one in this day and age picks up firewood and lights a fire.”

A dapper gentleman with a well-groomed beard smirked as he glanced at the firewood bundle.

“It’s a shame to waste such beautiful firewood when there’s a lovely hearth waiting.”

I replied, and the gentleman chuckled.

“Indeed, it is beautiful, but once used, you have to clean up the ashes and dispose of the firewood. It can be quite a task, you see.”

“I’ll clean up after using it.”

As I looked at him with a smile, the gentleman let out a fake cough.

“You could simply buy firewood from the market. It wouldn’t take much effort to avoid all that hassle, would it?”

“I deliberately picked it up to enjoy a walk as well.”

Thinking to myself, “When else would I go out?” I moved towards the detached building.

Once inside the detached building, I opened all the windows to let out the stuffy air and hung the firewood on one side of the ceiling.

I didn’t want the snow to pile up on the floor and create humidity again.

“The view here is truly breathtaking.”

The temporary spot I had settled in was located at a high altitude, allowing me to overlook the town below through the window. It was adorable to see people coming and going between the quaint houses like toys in motion.

It wasn’t boring even after looking at it all day.

I reluctantly averted my gaze and started sweeping the floor.

Wearing shoes and walking around every day caused dust to accumulate.

Although my nose tingled due to the warm air being pushed out, it was important to ventilate while cleaning.

I never expected to find a living space so easily when I was about to leave.

Reden, a district in Heineken, was large enough that it would take a full day to walk through both sides of the street.

And I learned this fact quite late.

Fortunately, there were no people coming and going at this time, transitioning from dawn to morning.

Occasionally, I encountered people hitching carriages or opening shop doors, but they showed no interest in whether I was a prince or not.

As I turned from the central area to the west, wandering through narrow alleys, I found a café around the time my legs started to ache.

A pretty blonde girl was tidying up the chairs alone, so I went to help and she blushed and offered me coffee.

Sitting there, sipping a cup of coffee with plenty of milk foam and observing people, I couldn’t help but feel distant from the fact that I was once a prince of Lindbergh.

Well, that’s a bit exaggerated, though.

I handed her a coin despite her refusal.

And now, collecting coins from the maids at Heineken Castle had proven to be useful, which made me feel proud.

Of course, it wasn’t robbery; I helped them with their chores like a child running errands for their parents and receiving a coin in return.

〈Prince, you shouldn’t be doing things like this!〉

〈What’s wrong with it? I have nothing else to do but wander around.〉

〈Still, it’s not appropriate!〉

They chirped like sparrows.

〈Then, every time I help, just give me the smallest unit of currency.〉

They laughed, saying I was going too far with the joke, but when they saw my serious expression, they opened their purses.

At that time, I simply didn’t like being unable to help.

After a day or two, the maids naturally started giving me coins. It seemed like word had spread, as even the knights I encountered would laugh and say, “Collecting coins, aren’t you?”

I asked the girl I met at the cafe if there was a place where I could leave items and exchange them for money.

She personally guided me to a pawnshop two houses away.

The pawnshop owner scanned me with a suspicious look as I entrusted the emerald to him.

〈Where did you get such a high-quality item?〉

〈My uncle works in the upper ranks of Balvenie. He gave it to me in exchange for the value of the goods instead.〉

Lies flowed smoothly. It wasn’t a complete lie. Occasionally, we exchanged jewelry along with bills in Lindbergh.

Besides, the upper ranks of Balvenie were large-scale, with many people affiliated.

The pawnshop owner nodded as if he understood completely.

He extended a document for me to sign.

After contemplating for a moment, I wrote down ‘Carthen Beer.’

I simply wrote down the name of a pub I used to frequent, nothing more.

Whether it’s Carl Lindbergh or Carthen Beer.

〈Beer? Are you a child of Beer?〉

What Beer? Is it a famous place? That could be troublesome.

〈That’s not it.〉

〈Oh, I see. I thought you were somehow related to Baron Beer. They have a firm grip on this area’s wheat field.〉

I awkwardly chuckled.

I should avoid establishing a presence here.

The pawnshop owner brought a considerable amount of paper.

I realized once again how being a prince has made me feel utterly useless.

It was the first time I had seen currency other than coins.

In Lindbergh, there was no need to use money, and even when luxury items were exchanged, I only saw bills being passed back and forth. This was my first time actually engaging in a transaction with physical currency.

Surprisingly, in Heineken, they used lightweight coins and paper currency.

The currency wasn’t neatly printed like those produced in a factory.

Rather, it was meticulously crafted by skilled artisans.

I heard that the currency is assigned a serial number and stamped with special seals.

The pawnshop owner dealt with large amounts of money, he said that there was no need to use small coins in most stores and exchanged a few into smaller denominations.

I changed carriages twice with that money and arrived in this village.

Ahead is a large lake, and behind is a rugged mountain, and the population density is moderate in this place on a hill where an old gentleman lives. I heard that he became alone after his son moved to the city and became independent following his wife’s funeral not long ago.

Without any shame, I asked about a place to stay upon entering his home, and he willingly offered me the separate building where his son used to live.

Although he seemed momentarily surprised when he saw the money I handed over, he didn’t ask anything.

That’s how I came to live another life in this house on the hill.

The villagers were generally kind.

Lindbergh and Heineken spoke the same language and looked similar, so I didn’t give away any hints that I was a foreigner.

Perhaps because it’s the same country, despite being from a different region?

When I mentioned where I came from, they didn’t seem particularly amazed.

Aside from occasionally having curious kids come by and peek inside before leaving, it was a village that was good in many ways for settling down.

Except for when I went to buy baking ingredients, I rarely ventured out to the town center.

It was because of a lingering sense of caution.

Every morning, I would sweep the yard, tidy up the house, light the fire in the oven, and while baking bread, thoughts of other people naturally came to mind.

It wasn’t an event that happened a long time ago, and it wasn’t like we spent a long time together either.

It scratched at my heart like a stray piece under my fingernail.

I wonder if the Imperial Palace went into chaos?

No matter what, everyone must be shocked and worried since the prince is missing, right?

What could be happening with Marco and Elizabeth?

And Leia? She must think her younger brother has completely lost his mind, right?

Did Belfry become an Omega?

Adrian must have lost affection for the prince who made a promise he couldn’t keep and disappeared, right?

Is Belfry preparing to embrace a happy ending as in the original story?

Even if I curse myself for being irresponsible and say I’ll never see them again, there’s nothing more I can say.

The room has become completely cold.

I closed the windows and gathered dry firewood to throw into the fireplace.

Even without such things, the 〈Burning Firewood〉 installed in the house will diligently warm up the room.

Tss

, the smell of a burning match lingered for a moment and then dissipated.
