(Vol2)84. Real Arsto
A burning bleak sensation roams the air. I can smell charred remnants. Fire?
No signs of life. Nothing.
I walk out of the library to the remnants of the city.
A torn red cloth lies below a rock. I pull it out when I realise a drawing is on it: a black eagle holding a skull in its claw.
It...looks like a symbol? I have never seen this before.
In this foreign land, I try to pull up my status screen or call the system but only receive corrupted panels.
Suddenly, I hear some rustling behind me. A huge shadow overlaps the city. I turn around to find a gargantuan one-eyed cyclops with several arms.
One look at the strange monster sends my body trembling and I instinctively hide behind the debris.
That monster was at least twice as tall as the Libra towers! How could such a big creature roam so silently?
Contrary to its size, it makes less sound when travelling and avoids stepping on the rubble of buildings.
"I can't beat it. It's impossible."
Such thoughts constantly flash in my mind. Even without the system, I can tell that the Cyclops is a transcendent being even stronger than The Demon Lord.
The fear disappears after a while, it's gone.
"To your left." a young gentle voice echoes.
"What?"
I look around but find no one visible.
That voice...sounds familiar?
...
Yes, I remember now. It's the same voice I heard after I raided Pharoh's dungeon back at Elvis.
To my left is the main building of BOV, or what was supposed to be.
The entrance caved in, forcing me to climb the platforms of debris to the second floor through the hole in the wall.
"Now what?" I say.
Silence.
...
"Alright..."
Out of curiosity, I decide to check Melissa's office.
Jumping across remnants of holes littered across the floor, I reach a wrecked office. The door is shattered outside, and the bookshelves toppled.
Her office desk is still intact and a white large coat with blue lining at the edge sits beside her desk.
That coat can only be worn by a General. Melissa will be promoted to General thus this should be the future.
"What the hell happened..." I mumble.
Now that I think about it, I don't know what happened after Rena killed The Demon Lord.
Is this...the result? Why?
The destruction of everything...
I open the drawers below her desk to find crumpled mouldy paper. The mould made most of the words illegible. However, I did find an odd brown oval object with green inscriptions. A small sprout pops out at the tip.
A seed?
*BRRR*
The floor building abruptly starts to vibrate as shadows envelop the room. I gulp and turn around to see a huge pupil looking at me. I sensed no presence.
...Shi-
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!*
The Cyclops uses one of its hands and plunge into the building, breaking it into two. By the impact, I was forced to the first level of rubble and hits my head on a rock.
*THUD*
My body rolls under the bloody jagged rock. Ringing blasts within my head as my vision blurs. It goes without a doubt that my entire self hurts.
I grab onto a pile of rocks as support and force myself up. Streams of blood flow down from my forehead to my chin, soaking my eyebrows.
The world in my vision splits into many. I grasp my head as I trudge across the floor.
Darkness looms over again. The Cyclops raises its feet above.
Yet, among the despair, a man jumps out of nowhere and pulls out two of the six swords strapped to his back, a yellow and green sword.
Massive swirls of mana seep into a sharp aura surrounding the sword. The man throws one powerful thrust.
*BAM!!!!!!!!*
Several splits of shockwave explode. The powerful force manages to push the Cyclops back, it stumbles but maintains its posture.
Sparks of mana appear at the man's feet and he ejects himself across the sky. Yellow aura extends from his yellow sword and green from his green sword, each having a fluctuating hue.
The Cyclops deems the man a threat and its body pulsates and large blisters bubble through the body. When near enough, millions of thin sharp arms shoot out of the body, piercing the atmosphere.
I hide underneath the rubble as shelter from the attack.
*BAM!*
*BOOOM!*
*BAM!*
Continuous eruption pops up every second. By the time I check back at the battle, the man is already somewhere above the huge Cyclops. He dives down and plunges both swords into the Cyclops' eye.
"RAAAAWWWWWWWRRRR!!!!" The Cyclops roars. Rivers of blood rain around the Cyclops.
The creature diverts everything to stop the man, trying to slap the "mosquito"
The mana surrounding the man transcends into a yellow-green blazing combustion. In an instant, the sword's aura expands into a large translucent colour sword, piercing through the Cyclops from its eye.
"Huff...what the fuck?" I mumble. The man jumps off the Cyclops and falls in front of the BOV building. The Cyclops' body falls back and crashes into the remnants, causing a tsunami of dust.
"Huff huff huff..." The man pants and looks around. His facial features become clear. Brown ponytail with brown eyes.
!!!!
My eyes widen. I couldn't believe my sight.
The man sheathes his swords and glares at me. He immediately appears before me, grabbing my neck and strangling me against the rock.
"Ugh?!" I groan as I try to pull his hand.
"You bastard, you are not supposed to be here." the man says.
This condescending voice...a rough and arrogant tone.
Even when he changed his hair to a ponytail, I can recognise him. After all, I've been using his identity.
This is Arsto Fon Kas...
The real Arsto.
Another corrupted panel pops up.
