Chapter 8: Chapter 8
As Akira ate the quirk promotion pill, he was hot all over at this moment, and seemed to have inexhaustible power.
"Please Host select the quirk to be upgraded—Thor's Return—Air Manipulation."
"I choose Thor's Return."
For the current Akira, the strength on the bright side is more important. The air control may be stronger than Thor's Return in some respects, but after all, this is a quirk that cannot be seen.
Maybe one day his strength can be as good as All Might in his heyday, and he can use it with integrity.
[The Return of Thor-LV2]
"Congratulations to Host, Thor's Return quirk successfully upgraded to LV2."
"Current Experience 0/200"
Akira waved his right hand, and a blue electric current with the thickness of a baby's arm quickly passed through the stool. The electric current hit the ground and formed a scorched black.
"The power is good," Akira nodded in satisfaction and then put his attention on the Qi Pill again.
Although he had tried to practice every day for the past few months, this world was dominated by [quirks], and the spiritual energy seemed very thin. If he only practiced in his free time, he probably wouldn't have developed a base by the time he turned 30.
But now that he had this Qi Pill, it was different; maybe he could advance his cultivation level earlier.
After eating the Qi Pill, Akira felt that the aura in the air became richer, and the spiritual power in his body also increased significantly.
He immediately sat cross-legged and began to absorb the aura of heaven and earth to strengthen himself.
Akira didn't know how long he had been practicing; he didn't open his eyes until he heard someone knock on the door, and it was already dark.
"Sister Hana, why did you come today?" What Akira didn't expect was that Hana Inoue had come to him.
"Akira, do you know what time it is now? I haven't seen you come downstairs. Haven't you eaten yet?" Hana Inoue was a little anxious, wearing a simple dress and carrying a basket in her hand. She looked at Akira with concern.
Akira turned his head and glanced at the clock on the wall, realizing that the Fujiwara Convenience Store where Hana worked closed at ten o'clock in the evening.
Moreover, the store was less than 100 meters from Akira's house. He could usually see Hana at the store downstairs. No wonder she had come to check on him today.
Hana might have noticed that Akira hadn't come out since returning home, and hadn't seen any delivery people, so she assumed he hadn't eaten.
And with the incident earlier today, Hana could easily imagine Akira's feelings. People his age had experienced too little, and society was complex.
Hana thought the event might have shaken Akira, leaving him somewhat withdrawn.
It wasn't always safe to stay at home; one had to consider everything from multiple angles. If someone kept going in circles, they'd never break free.
"Sister Hana, sit down first. I'll pour you a glass of water," Akira said, scratching his head and closing the door. Hana looked at the dark room with only a glowing computer, which made her think something might be wrong.
"Akira, are you okay?" Hana asked worriedly after sitting down.
Akira turned on the light and replied casually, "I'm fine."
Hana wanted to ask more questions, but she noticed a scorched mark on the floor. "Akira, tell me, did you do something reckless? Why is there a burn mark on the ground?"
Akira felt a bit embarrassed. How could he explain this? He had told Hana that he had awakened a speed quirk, mentioning that he was several seconds faster than most in a 100-meter sprint.
"It's nothing, Sister Hana. Don't worry. You work hard at the convenience store every day and still worry about me." Akira sighed and said, "You should go back and get some rest. You have work tomorrow."
Hana stared at Akira for a minute, making him feel uneasy, and then said, "Well, eat this bento, and I'll go after you finish."
Akira opened the basket and found a bento shaped like a heart. Hana really was thoughtful; the bento seemed to be a favorite of girls.
Hana blushed slightly. Her brother, Hiroshi Inoue, had always loved the bentos she made, and they were heart-shaped too.
But now he couldn't eat them, so Hana placed her care on Akira, seeing her brother's shadow in him.
Seeing Akira eat with joy, Hana smiled in satisfaction.
"Sister Hana, you look beautiful when you smile," Akira suddenly said, a piece of meat falling out of his mouth, looking somewhat silly.
Hana covered her mouth and laughed softly. "If you like my cooking, I'll make it for you every day."
Akira felt conflicted. It was odd to have a young girl making meals for him daily, especially when, in truth, he was much older than Hana, though he now appeared younger.
After Hana left, Akira leaned on the sofa, feeling his spiritual power and realizing he had reached the first level of Qi training.
Originally, he estimated it would take at least a year to reach the first level, maybe half a year at best.
But the Qi Pill had shortened that time by seven or eight months—it was extraordinary.
If he could get a few more Qi Pills, he could potentially reach the fourth level of Qi training, which would put him in the mid-stage. His power would be comparable to that of some notable heroes.
At the fourth level, he could use wind blades, fireballs, water orbs, and light powers, which would boost his combat readiness.
"Considering the timeline, Midoriya's rigorous training will start soon," Akira said, reflecting on his position. He was luckier than Midoriya, but that also meant he bore greater responsibility.
One For All represented being there for everyone, and so did Akira's path. His rescue system was the epitome of that ideal.
If he saved the world, all its accomplishments would become his, creating a unique persona more meaningful than All Might's symbol of peace.
Akira was poised to become the one who carried the world's future.
So naturally, Midoriya would become a key ally in this journey, while others like Katsuro Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, and Fumikage Tokoyami would be supported. They were, after all, his classmates.
Lost in these thoughts, Akira fell asleep, a bit of drool on his mouth…
The moonlight outside cast a frosty glow. No one noticed that on Akira's roof stood a man with a sword at his waist. Bathed in moonlight, a red ribbon fluttered in the wind. As he sheathed his blade, the scent of blood dissipated, leaving a lifeless body behind...
"All for the sake of a just society."
