The Sims System in Multiverse

Chapter 32: Use Magic to Make Omurice More Delicious!

Ayano picked up the manuscript.

"...The Promised Neverland?"

As she flipped through it, Ayano was a bit puzzled... the art style was completely different?

But she didn't ask and instead carefully read through it.

She saw a group of children... children with smiles on their faces, feeling a warm atmosphere.

Ayano instinctively felt that this was another comedy.

'Why? Wasn't Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun enough for a comedy?'

But soon she discovered something she had overlooked, first the strange numbers on each child's neck, then Emma's increasingly strange off-panel narration. Could there be an unexpected twist?

As she delved deeper into the story, she learned about the three main characters. Emma, Norman, and Ray, all of whom could be called protagonists.

Aside from the children's daily lives, the only thing that gave Ayano a bad feeling was the increasingly oppressive off-panel narration that gave readers more and more hints.

Until... Ayano discovered the truth about the world of "The Promised Neverland"!

She looked up at Homura in shock but didn't say anything. Instead, she lowered her head to continue reading. She was completely captivated and eager to know what would happen next.

Kotori, not far away, watched Ayano's reaction with a curious heart. Why did the editor show such an expression? What did the manuscript about?

'Ah...I really want to see it!'

Ayano finished reading the two chapters that Homura had brought and remained silent for a while before finally looking up at him.

"...Homura, why did you bring this work?" She didn't ask about the plot of the manga or express any opinions but asked this question.

Homura thought for a moment and replied, "Because of the genre and style. If it was only Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun; I'm afraid readers would limit me."

Ayano understood what he meant.

If he waited until "Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun" finished and then drew something else, he would lose many readers who were expecting similar works. But, if he drew a different genre of manga from the beginning of his debut, it would create even greater expectations for readers.

For example... Minamiya-sensei has a new work! What type of work will it be this time?

There were indeed many advantages to this approach, but...

"Just one thing! Homura, can you handle all of this?" Ayano asked directly.

These two works are both masterpieces and will surely attract many fans... as long as Homura can handle them.

Homura grinned and said, "No problem! The stories are all in my head, so I don't need to think about them. I just need to draw them. It won't take much time."

Ayano: "..."

"This one can only be studied first and signed after I return to the publishing house to report."

"No problem." He knew that Ayano couldn't make the decision.

Homura had a thought and looked at Ayano.

"By the way, is there any problem with the distribution channels of Manke Bunko? I plan on using them in the future. If there aren't any problems, then I won't have to look for them myself."

Ayano asked in confusion, "Distribution channels? What kind of channels do you need? Don't worry, we have our own publishing branches to publish and distribute manga and light novels on our own, after all; those publishing branches are all under the Manke Bunko."

Homura understood her confusion, but he wanted to ask about a different aspect of distribution. "What I actually meant was the distribution channels for anime and games."

Ayano replied decisively, "Of course we have it! How can a publishing house survive without such channels? Usually, manga always got adapted into anime, right? It's the same for games! And, they are all companies under the Minamiya Family... By the way, why do you ask? These are things we shouldn't worry about."

Homura thanked her, "Thank you, Ayano. I didn't know the Minamiya Family's companies are so comprehensive and can take care of all kinds of situations. As for why I asked... of course, I have a plan that requires the distribution channels for game sales."

Ayano looked at him with a face that looked like she was seeing a monster.

"Two manga are not enough? And yet, you still have other works?"

In a sense, Homura was really a monster!

"My club members and I are still working on it. Because we still have to go to school, the progress is a bit slow, but we should be able to finish it in about a month, maybe even faster!" Homura revealed some information to Ayano.

He then sighed, "If I had enough funds, I would have made an anime movie directly, and wouldn't have to make a game."

Ayano was not surprised anymore and looked at him expressionlessly, "I understand. I will report it to the chief editor."

If he was an ordinary person, Ayano would just 'listen to one ear and out the other' to Homura's talk, but the proof was the two manga right in front of her, so she couldn't just pretend to listen. She must have been affected by his words.

"Sorry to keep you waiting! Onii-chan and Ojou-sama, here are your omurice and cola!" Kotori deliberately adjusted her speed and brought the dishes over during the silence between the two.

"Excuse me, Onii-chan and Ojou-sama, would you like to draw something on your omurice?" Kotori asked with a smile.

The two looked at each other, and Ayano said, "Homura, you go first."

"Okay then, I won't be polite!" Homura nodded and said, "Give me a... little bird!" {TN: Kotori's name means little bird in kanji}

"!!!"

"Me?" Kotori couldn't keep her smile and asked in amazement.

Homura did it on purpose to return the favor to the black-belly Kotori just now, so he used a name pun.

He smirked, "No, no, it would be too much to draw you on it and let me eat it, so give me a bird with wings!"

Seeing Homura's smile, Kotori also knew that this guy did it on purpose, so she drew a little chicken for him with a pouting face.

Homura: "..."

Did he win or lose? Well, no matter which, they both would still be injured!

Ayano asked as she watched their interaction, "Do you two know each other?"

"Just met"

"Don't know!"

They both said completely different things at the same time.

Seeing Kotori's quick answer, Homura shrugged and didn't say anything.

Ayano looked at them in confusion.

Kotori put on a smiling face and asked her, "What would Ojou-sama like to draw?"

"Oh, for me... just draw a bow tie," Ayano said casually.

After Kotori finished her drawing, she took a step back and stood in the middle of the two plates of omurice.

"Next, let's perform some 'magic spell' together that will make the omurice taste even better!" She spoke with a cheerful tone, causing Homura to stiffen.

Although he was an otaku, he had not reached the point where he could say embarrassing lines in front of a large audience without blushing.

What should he do?

He was so anxious that he broke out in a cold sweat. Seeing that Kotori wasn't urging him on, but just staring at him with a playful smile, Homura made up his mind!

"Let's do it!" He then extended his hands, his face turning red, preparing to cast the spell.

Seeing Homura's expression, Kotori was extremely happy in her heart. The smile on her face grew even brighter as she and Ayano released their 'magic'.

"Make it delicious! Make it delicious! Moe~Moe~Kyun~!" Then, she shone the heart-shaped 'light' on the omurice.

After that, Homura was petrified...
