The Outer God Needs Warmth

Chapter 54

The Outsider immediately compiled and edited the memories of the three.

When all the intertwined past memories, including emotions, were cut away, the recollections became much lighter than what the Outsider originally had. This meant they could be sent out faster and to more people.

And then, it was pushed out to everyone, bit by bit.

However, even when Yasle’s memories were inserted, not many were able to accept it and summon her.

It was the same this time.

Of course, Hyungkesuni blocked it, yet the places with the most people attempted it the most.

In another world, there could be at most one person.

And that one person had to prepare too much after being dragged down to the abyss once before they could attempt summoning.

It was like having a hobby of TRPGs in Korea. A hobby suited for antisocial people, yet it fundamentally requires a large dose of sociability – a significant contradiction.

So, summoning the Outsider from another world took an immense amount of time.

But for the Outsider, time was nothing.

It was actually a power gained after blessing many people.

While the Outsider could not turn back time, they could see time flowing at different speeds for each individual.

However, if it was the same world, they shared a singular flow of time. But that meant there would be no problem if it was a different world.

Thus, the Outsider sent a book. Of course, they included a self-promotion that summoning them would grant a blessing between the pages.

They did something like intermittent ads you’d see on video sites.

And imagine that ad popping up in the middle of internet lectures.

The Outsider truly was an Evil God.

But after listening to all those lectures full of anger, someone finally succeeded in summoning the Outsider. The Blessed One was someone who had already fallen to the abyss, making them desperate enough to summon the Outsider despite the hardships.

A slender fishing line dropped from the night sky to the surface.

The Outsider smiled and reached out to that fishing line.

However, there was something the Outsider was fundamentally mistaken about.

This technique was not meant to summon the Outsider.

It was originally a technique used to summon the Evil God.

It was a technique to lure a monster lurking near the surface by lowering a fishing hook, not targeting below the surface.

The creator of this technique had thought of the surface as the bottom. Therefore, the more capable someone was, the more they could summon monsters crawling along the floor.

The one holding the fishing line was not the Outsider. It was a gigantic mass of light relatively close to the surface that grabbed it and rose up.

From the perspective of the high night sky, the gigantic mass of light was at the bottom, but it was too high for the Outsider to reach.

Staring blankly at the light rising above, the Outsider suddenly realized they were below the surface.

They had certainly fallen from above at first.

But now, they existed both below the surface and in that light-filled world.

They existed simultaneously and were interconnected.

Then, where does the light-filled world start, and where does below the surface begin?

While calming their heart filled with intense anger, the Outsider slowly examined themselves.

I know myself because there are others.

One can only self-aware with the existence of others.

Like a baby lying on a bed, having finally learned to crawl.

So, just as one becomes aware of a broader world, the Outsider took a step forward.

The consciousness of the Outsider rose following their body.

Far, far away.

To that high place.

A thin, thread-like body ascended to the night sky. And they realized that the night sky, which they thought was just dotted with stars, was not so simple.

There were countless lights.

But they were densely gathered, so from a distance, it appeared as a single light.

It felt like gazing upon a galaxy, the Outsider thought.

The place where the lights gathered was enveloped in a transparent bubble, and their thread-like body was within it.

No.

The Outsider quickly changed their thoughts.

Not a bubble, but rather like a glass jar.

Countless stars were gathered inside a transparent glass jar.

And some of those were connected to the Outsider’s thread.

The reason for changing from bubble to glass jar was simple.

There were cracks in the glass jar.

The end of the Outsider’s thread connected to the light was passing right through the cracked wall.

Yet, the end that was not connected to the light entered through the crack into the inside.

The Outsider soon realized that this transparent sphere represented the world. And understood that the light inside it represented people.

The Outsider was now watching the world from outside of it.

The unfortunate fact was that the glass jar, whether it had thermal insulation or not, felt no warmth from the outside.

While pondering how much warmth existed within this jar, the Outsider shuddered from the cold.

However, that did not mean they could instantly obtain warmth.

The Outsider exerted strength, but the glass jar didn’t budge at all. Instead, the cracks on the outside began to rapidly shrink.

Startled, the Outsider let go of their strength, and the cracks halted. No, to be precise, they were slowly healing.

Instinctively, the Outsider realized that their strength was insufficient to break this jar.

So, could they someday break this jar and harvest the warmth inside?

While pondering that, the Outsider noticed an unusual phenomenon in the world that had attempted to summon her for the second time.

They tried to summon the Outsider, but a gigantic mass of light that had risen caused a strange incident.

The monster summoned by the Blessed One turned to stone.

Upon summoning, it screamed that it was a trap and solidified into a hard stone.

It was definitely summoned inside a corpse with its heart ripped out. It was exactly the same situation as when the Outsider was summoned, yet a different outcome occurred.

Could it be that it’s because it’s not the Outsider?

The Outsider waited once again.

An experiment was necessary.

They felt as if they had achieved everything, but perhaps that wasn’t the case.

In reality, using Yasle’s memory, they could summon themselves using the same method. But the capacity was large, and they were apprehensive about what negative effects Yasle’s memories might bring, so they hesitated to use it.

So, they decided to slowly wait for the next opportunity.

If time is paused, then the AS period is infinite.

In reality, time didn’t stop but flowed at a very slow speed, yet the Outsider was not perceptive enough to notice it. Above all, right now, they were filled with a rage that felt like being stabbed in the back with a knife.

After a considerable amount of time passed, the Blessed One, once again feeling incapable of changing their own world by themselves, called upon the Outsider.

This time, a slender fishing line dropped from the light again.

But still, it did not touch the ground.

From above, it seemed no different from the ground, but from below the surface, it was like the moon that could not be reached even when stretching out a hand.

And the enormous mass of light present there caught it once again and rose higher.

They observed the summoning method carefully from the perspective of the Blessed One.

Once again, it was similar. Here, instead of speaking, they screamed but turned into stone, solidifying hard.

Just let’s do it only ten times.

The Outsider thought they were calm while simply trying to ascertain if there was an issue.

Of course, if it were the normal Outsider, they would have tried over a hundred times. Their patience was certainly not small.

But anger chipped away at that patience.

Ten times.

Everyone turned into hard stone.

The Outsider had two hypotheses.

One was that the summoner’s ability was insufficient.

The other was that the book itself had issues.

And that was revealed by the Blessed One.

Because there was someone who studied the monster that turned to stone. The Blessed One worked hard to examine the statue.

And they realized that something was sealed within.

It had been waiting to escape from inside.

And what was trapped inside was the Evil God filled with hatred.

But by the time that research was completed, too much time had already passed. In the end, the Blessed One died of age before they could create a solution.

As soon as they died, the Outsider, who received warmth, became very angry.

They were truly furious.

That book was Hyungkesuni’s trap to keep the Outsider bound.

If the Outsider had continuously maintained their mystery, Hyungkesuni wouldn’t have dared to pull such tricks. More accurately, she couldn’t.

But seeing the Outsider, who was like a child asking casually when the book would be completed, Hyungkesuni had begun to wonder.

And with the Outsider showing no reaction even after hearing curses, she lowered her guard.

So much so that she underestimated the Outsider as merely a brat who just grants blessings.

To be frank, the Outsider was at fault.

It was purely the Outsider’s mistake.

To control someone like Hyungkesuni, suitable fear should have been instilled, but the Outsider came off as too easy to deal with. Hyungkesuni thought she could manage the Outsider, and thus she crawled up.

She hid traps in the book.

Through the magic written in the book, those summoned would cleverly end up trapped within it by twisting the summoning method.

The time it would take for the stone to weather away was the time she thought was long enough for her to live and die.

There was no worry of being exposed.

Because if someone summoned and followed along joyfully, they would end up as stone.

That’s why the cowardly Hyungkesuni laughed at the Outsider.

If the Outsider had been a normal monster summoned, that would have been sufficient. If it were such a low-level monster, if it were indeed such an Evil God, Hyungkesuni would be able to seal it with her magic.

But the true essence of the Outsider was very strange.

Very, very, very strange.

The Outsider was angry.

They had contracted, yet received an inadequate book.

Hyungkesuni broke the contract through her own fault.

Which means, the Outsider could do as they pleased with Hyungkesuni.

Now it was time for vengeance.

The Outsider returned to the first world.

Everything had been achieved.

But all they obtained was Yasle’s summoning method. The Outsider scoffed at themselves, wondering where the achievement lay, and turned their gaze to search for Hyungkesuni.

It didn’t take long to spot Hyungkesuni, lounging in the distance, leisurely watching the Outsider.

So, how should they unleash this fury in this situation?

The Outsider started devising a cowardly, cunning plan.
