Chapter 59: Awakened Nightmare
"Heinald, where have you been?"
When Heinald returned, he saw that Dane and the others had arrived.
"I discovered a strangeness in the town area where Dane and I went the other day and wanted to observe that area again. Through careful examination, I discovered a cave entrance protected by a camouflage formation. When I examined the cave, I discovered that various experiments on spiders were carried out in this cave." Heinald began to explain.
"Around the town?" Dane muttered thoughtfully.
"Actually, under the town, in a cave in the hill. The spiders I killed could use both Dark Energy and Fire Energy." Heinald exhaled.
"What!?" Shocked expressions appeared on everyone's faces.
"Yes, the Dark Energy in their bodies made their wounds heal faster. Fortunately, their strength was less than mine, otherwise...." Heinald shook his head.
"How did they achieve this?" Dane had an ugly expression.
"I don't know. Besides, I have a question..." Heinald frowned slightly. "They must know that Dark Energy in this area will be noticed by someone sooner or later. However, it can't say that they act very secretly. Either there is a power behind them that they can trust, or they do not want to leave this area despite all the risks."
"Or both." Mady added.
"Why wouldn't they want to leave this area?" ' asked Ruske.
"It could be precisely because of the reason we are here. Maybe they also want to reach the source of Dark Energy." said Dane.
"The source of Dark Energy may also be the creatures they created as a result of their experiments," Morena said.
"They don't have enough energy to be effective across the entire region." Heinald shook his head.
While they were chatting among themselves, the door opened and Baunt entered.
"Welcome! Did you get any information?" Dane asked behind Baunt as he closed the door.
"Yes." Baunt nodded.
"What did you learn?" asked Heinald.
"The symbol belongs to an organization called Awakened Nightmare. I don't know the number of members of the organization or its headquarter, but there is a Level 2 Ainsar at the head of the organization. We can also assume that there are powerful Level 1 Ainsars in the organization. I have not been able to obtain any information about the operations they carry out. But its clear that they want or looking for something precious in this region." Baunt sat down and explained the situation.
"It is obvious that they are experimenting with Dark Energy and they are after the source that emits Dark Energy to the environment!" Dane sounded.
Heinald was fighting an inner battle. He wanted to know what the source of such intense Dark Energy was, but at the same time he knew that the job was dangerous. Moreover, although Dane trusted Baunt, he had not yet fully trusted him.
"At the end of this job, I can get very important information or resources about Dark Energy and Dark Magic." Heinald wanted to get on top of this. He certainly wouldn't have gotten involved if he'd been alone, but he thought that with Dane and the others, they could handle it.
If things turned out the way he didn't want, he would leave quickly.
"What do you say? Are we going to do this job?" Dane's gaze swept over everyone in turn.
"I'm in! But if we're in great danger, I'll be the first to leave." Heinald nodded thoughtfully.
Everyone nodded.
"Okay! Then we can start planning." Dane sat back and surveyed his surroundings.
"Our aim is to find out the source of Dark Energy, most simply. The head of this organization obviously has knowledge of Dark Energy and their search has brought them to this area. If we somehow overcome this organization and finish off the leader of the organization, we will get huge resources and that Dark Energy source." When Baunt finished speaking, he looked at the others.
"But we must not forget that there is a Level 2 Ainsar at the head of the organization we are dealing with. Moreover, we do not have clear information about his might, maybe even a peak Level 2 Ainsar. If he is, we would probably be no more than an ant to him." Heinald's expression was serious. After what he had said, suspicion and fear appeared in everyone's eyes.
"It's clear we can't defeat them by attacking them directly. I mean...It's Risky!" Baunt said.
"You mean... are we going to infiltrate them?" Heinald looked at Baunt.
"This seems like the best solution. You know what they say...If the enemy is inside, the door won't lock." Baunt shrugged.
"You are right!" Heinald nodded after two seconds of silence.
If they all fought against a Level 2 Ainsar, they might have a slight chance, but they had an organization against them. Moreover, they knew very little about this organization. If they were to fight them directly, most likely they would all die. So it was most plausible to gather inside information about them and learn about their weak spots.
But of course, this was no easy matter. In order to infiltrate an organization they knew nothing about, they had to come up with a good plan and implement it without fail.
"So how do we sneak in?" Dane popped up the question on everyone's mind.
Nobody said a word.
"Looks like everybody needs to think about that." Dane murmured when he saw that no one was responding.
"For now, everyone should keep watching around the region. At the same time, everyone should think of a good plan. I think we will definitely make some progress." Baunt scratched his chin.
The days quickly passed.
Heinald went to the Cruxal area every night and observed, but never saw the man he had seen before. He had been making plans the whole time. He had a certain plan in mind, but he had to admit that it was quite risky. Moreover, he would be the only one to take risks, so if his plans were successful, he would want the biggest share in the end.
The starting point of his plan was to find the man he had seen before!
"Dawn near, I'd better get back..." Heinald is emerged from the grass he had made and walking towards town. After another night of observation, he had nothing. It was sad, but he would almost get used to it.
The sun had risen when he returned to town. When he turned back to the house, there was only Dane inside.
"Any progress?" Dane asked when he saw Heinald walking in.
Heinald shook his head.
"I talked to that little girl you asked me to talk to." Dane changed the subject.
"What did she say?" Heinald had asked him to talk to little Pely. The little girl, who had been a slave before, was now feared by everyone in the town.
"No one came to town. The girl wasn't lying, and I would have known if she did. I guess the place you found under town wasn't a frequently visited place. Or it was a place that was no longer used. " Dane exhaled loudly.
"It seems so." Heinald nodded thoughtfully.
A sudden opening door interrupted the two's conversation. Baunt had arrived and he had an excited expression on his face.
"Oh? You look excited..." Dane looked at Baunt.
Baunt said "I am! I learned something very important."
"What's that?" Heinald asked curiously.
"I have intelligence that a few members of the organization are hanging out with a place called Ulmy's Card Club! This information cost me a lot of Arkana Stones..." Baunt was quite excited.
"Ulmy's Card Club?" Heinald repeated.
"Yes, it's a place in Jusen City. It's more of a gambling and drinking place." Baunt nodded.
"Where did you learn this information from?" asked Heinald.
"There is a shop called Tsor Chaos in Jusen City. The owner of the place has a wide intelligence network. Of course they don't give intelligence to everyone, I was able to communicate with him thanks to my friend." Baunt replied.
"How reliable is this intelligence? How can we be sure?" Heinald was clearly not very convinced.
"Intelligence is correct!" Baunt said in a stern tone.He hadn't expected so much questioning, it seemed to bother him that there was so little trust in him.
"But do you know the person who gave you the intelligence so well that you can speak with such certainty?" Dane didn't seem too convinced either, so he asked questions in his mind.
"Think about it logically. If the information this person gave was wrong, would he have been able to keep his job? This person gets a huge payment for these intelligence, and if it was false intelligence, he wouldn't be able to continue." Baunt took a deep breath and explained.
"Ulmy's Card Club...We won't lose anything if we observe there for a while." Dane glanced at Heinald beside him.
"So be it!" After thinking for a while, Heinald sighed and agreed.
