Chapter 47: Acknowledging A Younger Sister
The commotion attracted the attention of the waiter.
The waiter quickly took out some tissues and wrapped them around Zhou Zhu, whose pants were still dripping, and escorted him to the bathroom to clean up.
Zhou Zhu did not want to be laughed at by the crowd, so he could only glare at the ugly dog who had ruined his plan and stormed into the bathroom angrily.
He Feng walked over and looked at the red wine that was spilled all over the floor. He asked with an ugly expression, “What’s going on?”
“I’m fine.” He Miao shook her head with a cold expression and reminded him in a low voice, “Dad, I still have class tomorrow. We should go home.”
He Feng got the money he wanted and was in a good mood. He did not force her after hearing what she said. Instead, he went back to Zhou Cheng and said goodbye to him.
The car drove back to the He family’s house. He Feng was all smiles as he was about to return to his room to rest. When he reached the stairs, he suddenly remembered something and turned back to look at He Miao sternly. “Watch your dog closely from now on. It’s so ugly. Don’t let it run around and embarrass me.”
He Miao lowered her eyes and did not reply. She did not expect Onion to chase after them tonight.
However, it must have been worried about her. She rubbed Onion’s little face affectionately, carried it back to the room, applied medicine on its wound, and then put it in the newly bought kennel.
He Miao did not sleep well that night. The fear in her heart made her dream of Onion lying in a pool of blood.
She mumbled “no” as her small hands unconsciously clenched the pillow, but she was still so uneasy that cold sweat flowed down her face.
Jing Yan was woken up by her and helplessly jumped onto the bed. Seeing her pitiful look of not being able to sleep well, his heart softened, and he snuggled beside her hand. He stuffed his furry tail into her palm and slept with her for the whole night.
At 5:50 a.m. the next morning, Jing Yan woke up ten minutes earlier than the previous time.
He did not have the habit of lazing in bed. After he got up, washed up, and tidied himself up, he went downstairs to accompany his grandfather for a run.
“You’ve been slacking off for so many days,” Grandpa Jing said jokingly. “You’re finally going to exercise?”
“Grandpa, don’t laugh at me.” Jing Yan shook his head helplessly. As long as he continued to treat He Miao well, one day, he would completely break free from the curse of becoming a stupid dog, and he would regain his freedom.
Grandpa Jing sighed. “Miaomiao is a very good child. Although you two have called off your engagement, you are still studying in the same school. You have to take care of her in the future and don’t let her be bullied.”
“I know.” Jing Yan lowered his eyes thoughtfully, and an idea suddenly came to his mind.
Back at the house, Jing Yan took a towel from the butler and wiped the sweat off his forehead. He asked casually, “I remember that we still have a few boxes of pure milk that we specially bought from abroad?”
“Yes, Young Master,” the butler asked curiously, “Young Master, you want to drink? I’ll get someone to heat up a glass of milk immediately.”
“No,” he said. Jing Yan waved his hand and ordered, “Send it to the He family.”
Grandpa Jing and the butler were both stunned by his words. The Young Master was going to give the He family a gift for no reason?
Could it be that he had a change of heart?
“Don’t think too much.” Jing Yan waved his hand in frustration. I saw that Grandpa truly loves He Miao and treats her like his own granddaughter. Although we’re no longer related, I can still treat her like a younger sister. These boxes of milk can be considered a gift from an older brother.
The butler looked at Old Master Jing in a daze. Seeing that he was so happy that he could not stop laughing, the butler went to send the milk to the He family as instructed.
Grandpa Jing sipped his hot tea with a smile and agreed. “You brat, you’ve finally done something that makes me happy.”
Jing Yan shrugged his shoulders indifferently and returned to his room to take a shower.
This was a plan he had just thought of. As long as he announced to the public that he treated He Miao as his own sister, then it would be natural for him to treat her well in the future.
The butler quickly ordered a few boxes of imported pure milk to be loaded into the car. Then, he sat in the front passenger seat and headed in the direction of the He family’s house.
He Miao was holding a glass of milk, sitting at the dining table and drinking it slowly.
“How was last night?” He Wei asked worriedly.
“It’s very good,” He Miao smiled nonchalantly and finished the milk in one gulp. She got up and was about to go to class when she heard someone at the door. She looked up and saw the butler of the Jing family moving things into the house.
When the butler saw her, he immediately smiled respectfully. “Miss Miao, this is the milk that Young Master asked me to give you.”
